Weekend Food Trip at: Clubhouse Robinsons Magnolia

You know how it is when you go to the same mall most of the time?  The lack of restaurant choices!  Our favorite restaurant at Robinsons Magnolia is Conti's.  As much as we would like to dine there again, we wanted to try something new!  I realized too, as a mom, that not all restaurants offer high-chair options for toddlers which makes it even more difficult for us!  How can I enjoy dining with my family if I have to run around chasing after my son during dinner right?

Thankfully, Mr. AMW found a nearby restaurant (from Conti's) called Clubhouse.  The Clubhouse is actually a nice, homey-feel restaurant wherein it is surprisingly almost full on weekends!  That intrigued us more to give this restaurant a try even if we have to wait 15 minutes for our seats.

The restaurant offers, cakes, ice cream (Carmen's Best) and some international merchandise from Pod's to KitKat and Belgian Biscuit.

The interior reminds me of a home away from home!  Now, the ambiance of the restaurant earned thumbs up from me, now let me share to you my thoughts on their food.

Yay for High Chair!  I usually exhaust all tricks in making him busy (from purchasing Jelly Beans for him to play with) to taking with me random wooden shapes and blocks then my last resort is...iPad!

Kyle loves soup that's why I made sure to give Cream of Pumpkin Soup a try!

Cream of Pumpkin Soup
Php185.00 (approx $4.20)
The best dish I ordered that day!  It tasted so good it's almost sinful!  But thankfully, I know in my heart it is still a healthy starter.  The best part is that my little angel loves this too!  I will definitely go back to Clubhouse just for this soup!

Lemon Caper Dory
Set Php275.00 (approx $6.25)
Crispy battered dory fish with their lemon caper butter sauce.
A huge let down!  My dad ordered Fish as he loves battered fish when we dine in restaurants.  I requested for the lemon caper butter sauce to be set on the side because my dad wants to control his "butter" intake.  Let's talk about the Crispy Fish Fillet, the breading was made really thick and the fish itself is super thinly sliced!  So overall, it was hard to chew even for us who have complete set of teeth!

The taste of the sauce was just okay, nothing spectacular.

Beef and Mushroom Salpicao
Set Php345.00 (approx $7.85)
Tender chunks of beef, sauteed with mushrooms, garlic and olive oil.
An Okay dish, the beef is tender to bite and I like the use of olive oil.  But , this is not the best Salpicao I've tried, my favorite is still from Conti's!

Cheesy Chicken Parmigiana
Set Php295.00 (approx $6.70)
Hand-breaded chicken breast fillet topped with homemade fresh tomato sauce
and gooey mozzarella cheese.
An OK dish.  The serving is quite good so I have no issues on that!  The tomato sauce is indeed freshly-made (no canned tomatoes taste)

Carmen's Best Ice Cream in Butter Pecan
Php400.00
I've heard about the joys of tasting Carmen's Best for the longest time but I find myself not knowing where to purchase one!  Thankfully, the restaurant has a small freezer and they sell Carmen's Best ice cream in various flavors.  I went for Butter Pecon, as highly recommended by the server, and so far, we enjoyed this!

Though the tub may look small, this is not for the faint-heart!  The creaminess and thick texture of the ice cream is good for sharing!  Yes, even for a family of 5!
