AMW Reviews: Shiseido Glow Enhancing Primer SPF15

Good morning friends!
Today, I will be reviewing my first Shiseido Glow Enhancing Primer SPF15.  This is a primer and as you all know, I tend to use primers that gives hydration and radiance as opposed to most of you who uses primers for oil-control.

I am the queen of highlighting --- I am claiming that title!

Way back before Strobing, I think I've already mastered the art of strobing due to my liking to keep my skin hydrated and appear more bright and radiant!

I am on the stage where my skin does not breakout as much as back when I was a teenager but I am definitely on the stage wherein I try to fake that "glowing" skin because it can make any person look younger when you have healthy, clear and glowing skin.

So after using this for a month or more!  I am ready to share my thoughts on my first primer from Shiseido!

Shiseido says ---

Glow Enhancing Primer creates a natural looking, glowing complexion by bringing a soft radiance to any foundation finish. It's oil-free and features SPF 15 for sun protection and Shiseido’s proprietary light-transmitting, emulsion-based formula, which evenly distributes light across the skin's surface. This primer leaves you a foundation finish that looks naturally radiant and makeup free, lighting up the skin's surface while correcting uneven skintone.

Shiseido Glow Enhancing Primer SPF15

AMW says ---

  • Packaging.
  • Not silicone based, so perfect for those who are allergic to silicone primers.
  • No shimmer or harsh glitters so this looks extremely natural even in flash photography.
  • Gives a subtle and not-too-noticeable glow but skin definitely looks healthier with this underneath.
  • Lightweight.  Never feel greasy on skin and I believe even oily-skinned users can gives this a try!
  • Does not dry out my dry skin. It gives a bit of moisture.
  • No white cast.
  • Gives a subtle radiance when applied under ANY foundation (even the matte ones!)
  • Does not settle into fine lines or wrinkles.

  • If you are expecting this product to give you oil control, this won't make the cut.
  • SPF15 is not enough especially if you tend to be under the sun for long period of time.
  • If you have extremely large pores, this primer is not enough, you may need a separate pore minimizer.
  • Price.  Depending on how much you love the product or how the product works for you.
  • Light floral scent.

This product is perfect for our weather and it works for almost all skin types!  It imparts a very subtle glow and can help make matte foundation look less matte!

from Shiseido
  • After using your regular skincare items, take a pearl-sized amount on fingertip and dot on both cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. \
  • Blend outwards from the center of the face. Follow with foundation.
from AMW
  •  You can choose to apply the Glow Enhancing Primer first before your preferred foundation or mix with your liquid/cream foundation if you're in a hurry.
  • A pea size amount I find is the perfect amount for the whole face.
  • Don't apply too much just to create "obvious" glow, obvious glow can only be achieved with extra help of a highlighting powder or cream higlighter AFTER foundation application.
  • I find application using clean fingers is the best!
Will I repurchase?

To whom do I recommend this to?
Users who like the subtle and natural glow.  This product can be used for all skin types as this does not add to your skin's oiliness.

Where to purchase and how much?
Available at Shiseido Glorietta 4, Power Plant Mall, Trinoma Mall and Greenbelt 5 for Php1,750.00 (approx $39.70).  Like Shiseido Philippines on Facebook for product updates.

The tube packaging may look like most tube packaging products you own but I quite like semi-rose gold finish of the packaging.  It looks so chic!

The cream has a milky texture, it applies like a dream because the texture is easy to work with (almost gel like feel) and you won't feel a thing once you apply it all over your face!
Comes out of the tube milky white and is smooth, lightweight and a cross between creamy and gel-like in texture. (More creamy than it is gel-like.) Applies smooth and wears like air. Here it is blended into my hand: - See more at:

Starting from the center of my face blending outwards.

Before and After
Obviously, this product is named "Glow Enhancing Primer" so please do not expect this product to magically covers skin issues like dark bags and redness.  It does not even out your skin so you may need a separate corrector and/or concealer.  The radiance isn't obvious on photos but definitely gives a nice subtle glow all over your face in person.

Half Face Test
Applied Shiseido Glow Enhancing Primer ONLY, no foundation or moisturizer underneath.
As you can see, my skin looks radiant and hydrated.  Redness on the sides of my nose are still visible but I like the "inner glow" it gives.

Before and after usage of Shiseido Glow Enhancing Primer SPF15

If you find this primer to be pricey for just a "glowing" property, well, if you are a fan of radiant skin, this is a nice investment!  I find this product is perfect for users who do not have much skin issues except, maybe...dry, lifeless skin!  This gives instant hydration without adding greasiness!  The added point is having SPF15 included which can also double up as your daily sunscreen if you are the type who works inside the office!

Tell me what you think or how you feel about this product please?
I'd love to hear from you!
