Weekend Food Trip: Pan-Grilled Pork Belly (New) from Pancake House

Whenever we go out on weekends, one of the most visited restaurant is Pancake House.  Especially the one at Lucky Chinatown and Quezon Avenue.

There are just a few reasons why this is our family restaurant of choice ---
  • Good food
  • Cozy ambiance
  • Has high chair (all restaurant owners, this is very important!)
  • Child-friendly activities (Crayons!)

Last weekend, as to EVERY weekend, we visit my parents and go out to have quiet dinner.  We picked the branch at West Triangle because of the spacious location (for Kyle to run around) and because it is near my parent's home!

The usual orders would be ---  Pancake House Fried Chicken, Spaghetti and Tacos.  But just as the menu was given to us, we spotted a new dish!  (It takes a Pancake House fan to know something is new with the menu!)

True enough, we were told this is the newest addition to the menu and all of us ordered this right away!

The Pan Grilled Pork Belly
Php398.00 for 2 plates + 2 Iced Tea

Now, how different is Pancake House's Pan Grilled Pork Belly from the rest of their menu?  This is marinated in Cajun spices and the gravy has a distinct Cajun spice taste!  Different from your usual Pancake House Chicken gravy.  This order omes with a good serving of mashed potato (or you can opt for plain rice), corn and carrots too!

As much as I'm a fan of mashed potatoes, I can't help but order an extra serving of plain rice because the Grilled Pork Belly with gravy goes oh-so-well with steaming rice!  Definitely what a tired mom needs at the moment!

Then we were all craving for greens and went ahead to try the Fiesta Taco Salad (Php240.00).
How to really enjoy a taco salad?   Mash the huge taco as it shatters into smaller bite-sized pieces and mix everything together with the awesome Vinaigrette.  You get crunchy tacos on EVERY single bite!  Oh, if I may have the add, they also included some Chippy on it so you get sweet, sour and tangy flavor in every single bite!

Then, we just can't help but order our all-time favorite Spaghetti with Meat Sauce (Php285.00 for Large).  Even my  mom who is very particular with her pasta approves of this!

Ah, everything tastes so good, we all went home with a happy tummy and heart!  I will definitely go back to this restaurant again and again because this is definitely one of our favorite restaurant who serves amazing comfort food!

What is your favorite Pancake House dish?

My vote now goes to the Pan-Grilled Pork Belly!  I am definitely making sure to take advantage of this because special price offering is for limited time only (April 1 to June 30, 2016).

  1. Pancake House is one of the most underrated dining places in the country. They serve great food and it saddens me that most branches these days are close to empty. I am all praises for their food except for their pesto which is really bland. like really bland.
