So you are holding an Etude House Play 101 Stick Contour Duo. What to do with it?
If you're clueless, this is a perfect blog post for you! I have the Etude House Play 101 Stick for quite some time and it took me serveral tries to really appreciate this nifty product!
Everyone knows I'm always a powder girl! It is easier to apply and less effort to blend! But why do I still keep the Play 101 Stick Contour Duo with me? Well, would you believe this is a perfect contour duo "retouch" product? It's so handy I can easy do a quick retouch inside the ladies' room!
The stick is thicker than regular play sticks! Imagine "NYX JUMBO PENCILS" (a bit bigger!) This Contour Duo comes with a Highlighting Tip and a Contour Tip. Both are twist-able and no need to sharpen!
Etude House Play 101 Stick Contour Duo ---
A creamy contour duo that creates a look of authentic dimension of face.
It comes in a pen type packaging making it easy to tote around! And guess what? As much as it looks complicated to use, I actually find this an easy highlight/contour tool even for beginners! Why? The product blends so well into the skin!
And guess what? Since it comes in a pen-type packaging, it is also easy to contour the clavicles making them look more prominent that usual! I for one, do not need to do so because I don't have the need to look sexy on regular days at home office or running around for errands! (Imagine, grocery shopping with sexy clavicles? hahahah)
How I would use the "Contour" side of the Play 101 Stick.
I like to draw a line straight from the inner corner of my brows down to the tip of my nose! Please do not follow my exact diagram if we don't have the same nose! Feel free to practice the "best nose shape" for you!
Still on the contour side of the duo, starting from the hairline near the earlobes, draw a couple of lines gently. Do not forget to draw the areas around the temple as needed.
Again, rule of the thumb is: Contour areas that you want to "hide".
Turn the pen on the other side and use the highlighting shade! I like to draw the center of my nose or nose bridge, the brow bone area to highlight my brows, the "C" section around my eyes and my chin!
Of course, let's not end there! You can either use a flat top brush or in my case, I prefer a damp Beauty Blender and gently dab or blur everything!
If you don't have a Beauty Blender, you can use a regular damp sponge and use all sides or corners of the sponge! Make sure do you use the same side of the contour color and the highlighter color! You will mix everything together which isn't supposed to be!
VOILA! My Etude House Play 101 Contour Duo Stick look
For photography purpose, I left a strong nose line just for you guys to see.
In person, I would continue to blend out everything to make it more natural!
Etude House Play 101 Contour Duo stick is available at all Etude House Stores near you priced at Php748.00 (approx $17.00). For more product information and other Etude House products, visit www.etudehouse.ph

DeleteIt looks easy enough for me :D
ReplyDeleteglad to know
DeleteInteresting. I'm quite scared of contour prods because my face is naturally round, which kinda complements my features. I'm afraid that a contour would be going against the grain for me. Maybe I'll change my mind after I try this first hand.
ReplyDeletethis is extremely easy to use :D Goodluck
DeleteI like this! ideal for beginners.
