Burt's Bees BB Cream Review

I have reviewed so many BB creams on this blog but one brand that REALLY excites me is the arrival of Burt's Bees BB Cream.  Quite late (in my humble opinion) but there could be a reason why they came in super late when other brands graduated to CC and DD and "whatever double-letter" creams!

Burt's Bees, as you all know, is all about NATURAL.  From the packaging down to their ingredients, this is one of the "shortest ingredients list" I've seen in a BB Cream by far!

That could be the reason why they take this long to master their BB cream!  It must work at the same time, must commit to the Burt's Bees "natural promise".

And this particular base makeup from the brand did not disappoint, it's 98.9% natural and comes with 9 Benefits (and more!)

Intrigued???

Burt's Bees BB Cream Says ---
Somewhere between a lightweight foundation and a super-hydrating lotion, our BB Cream with Noni Extract offers 9 clinically shown benefits in 3 mineral-rich shades.
• 98.9% natural
• SPF 15 protection
• Firms, conceals, smoothes, perfects, and illuminates skin
• Evens skin tone and visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

AMW says ---

Pros

  • Squeeze-type tube packaging.
  • Natural and safe.
  • Comes with SPF15 perfect for daily wear.
  • Gives a natural glow to my skin.
  • Lightly conceals my skin imperfections.
  • Never feels cakey or heavy on skin.
  • Smells natural and fresh.
  • No breakouts.
  • No white cast.

Cons

  • The consistency is "inconsistent".  There are times I squirted out just water while some times I get a blob of pigment.
  • May not hold-off grease or oil for users with oily skin.

Overall
A good coverage, hydrating BB cream that gives your face a natural glow.

Tips

  • Shake the tube really well before use.
  • A little goes a long way.  Start by applying more on areas that needed coverage and gently blend out.
  • Best used with clean fingers.
  • Pat for more coverage.
  • Apply concealer on areas that needed more coverage.
  • Oily-skin users need to set with oil-control powder.

Will I repurchase?
Yes.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Make up wearers who have extremely sensitive skin.  This is best used by normal and users with dry/dehydrated skin.

Where to purchase and how much?
Priced at Php1,695.00 (approx $37.00). These are available in select Beauty Bar stores, Rustan's Shangri-La, www.zalora.ph and www.burtsbees.com.ph

Shade: Light/Medium
This has a tiny bit of a warm undertone making it a nice shade for me.
BUT, this shade is a tad bit light on me but I don't mind since the effect is quite subtle and gives my skin a nice illuminating glow especially if set with powder foundation.

Application:
I like to apply using my clean fingers with downward strokes.

Before and After
As you can see, the Light/Med shade is light on me but has an ample amount of coverage to even out my skin tone and remove some redness around the sides of my nose and center of my face.

Overall, this is my to-go-to BB cream and sunscreen at the same time if I don't need to stay under the sun for too long!

  2. I love this, too! I have the same shade. It gives decent enough coverage, for a BB cream with natural ingredients. Love, love, love that glow din. Looks different on cam, hindi masyado macapture. I haven't noticed any inconsistency with the texture yet, but thanks for the tip. Now I'll shake it before each use.
