Weekend Staycation at: Ascott Makati

The last time we stayed at Ascott Makati was for my mom and dad's surprise Golden Wedding Anniversary Party.

In just a year's time, there are so many changes in this property and I'm glad to be invited to check out their new facilities and offers.

I was invited with fellow Bloggers and Media Friends over the weekend with our respective families!  Thank you so much Ascott Makati and Fuentes Manila for the warm welcome.

We all met at the new Executive Lounge located at the 6th Floor of Ascott Makati for check-in and welcome snacks and drinks.  I had the chance to catch up with old friends and meet new ones.

The Executive Lounge is open for guests who are checked in at the suites of the hotel.

Luckily, during our stay, the hotel cooked up some wonderful surprises for guests.  That Saturday, Ascott Makati showcase Filipino Desserts which everyone (both foreign and local guests) were excited about!

I went ahead for my favorite Halo-Halo!

After saying our quick goodbye and "see you tomorrow" with fellow media friends, I met up with my family at the Suite and was greeted with fresh fruits and more sweets!  What warms my heart is the lovely note from the Hotel's General Manager Ms. Joanne Golong Gomez.

I looked around and felt the hotel really is a home away from home!  It definitely doesn't have the old hotel-look we grew up to know!  The Suite is spacious and are definitely grander and more luxurious!
One bedroom Suite
AMW says: The 500 Thread Count makes a HUGE difference!
One of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in!

Well-lit room and I'm so happy I get not only a good view but sunlight coming in!

Washroom
AMW says: Yay for bathtub (for Kyle and I to have our own mini swimming time!)
Since I'm a Beauty Blogger, I appreciate that their toiletries are from L'Occitane!
Smells oh-so-divine!

Living Room.
AMW says: Comfortable Sofa and well carpeted safe enough for my son to walk around.

Kitchen
AMW says: Fully-equipped modern kitchen!  Each Suite comes with a Coffee Maker from CBTL, Microwave Oven, Refrigerator, Pots and pans, and a whole lot of kitchen utensils.

Washing Machines are also available for long-term staying guests.
40% of the guests staying at Makati Ascott are long-term.

Dining Table
AMW says: Thank God for large dining area good enough for big and small family!  Especially for a family with active toddler!  I don't have to worry about sharp edges as the table is rounded with well foamed chairs!

After quick relaxation, we went down to check out the new Cubbies Playroom!  My requirement recently on hotels we stay in as I like my son to enjoy as much as we do!  And Cubbies Playroom at Ascott Makati did not fail!  Why?

They have activities ready for kids to enjoy at the same time learn!  We were able to do Origami!  I made Pikachu Origami!

Now you know my son is "bookish", he loves books more than toys, so aside from Cubbies Playroom having so many toys a kid could imagine, I appreciate that they have a whole load of books for kids too!  YAY!  Definitely the best Kid's Play Area for me at the moment!

Look at his precious smile!

Once we got back to our room to get ready for dinner, we were again surprised with a mini treat!  So did Kyle!  A friendly Cubbies Playroom "neighborhood" surprised him with a balloon and coloring books!

Now for dinner, we've decided to go down and try Cafe On the 6th!  I've dined in this restaurant a couple of times for food tasting before my mom and dad's wedding anniversary!  So I'm quite comfortable because I know I get served by their best Chef!

We went for their bestsellers!  Wait, before I talk about our orders, YOU HAVE TO TRY their homemade bread!  Super yummy!

Beef Salpicao
US Angus Beef cooked in its own juice.  So tender and extremely flavorful.  Must eat with Rice!

Soup of the Day: Clam Chowder

Deep Trio
A selection of 3 house-made dips - Creamy Mushroom and Spinach,
 Hummus and Tomato Olive Tapenade.

Carnivore Pizza
Hungarian sausage, smoked ham, crisp bacon, Italian garlic sausage,
 mozzarella and pomodoro sauce.
Definite a must-try!

In the morning, we went down at Cafe on the 6th again for breakfast!  And check out another surprise for Kyle Nash!

When guests, especially with kids like I do, gets checked-in at the hotel, the staffs make sure both parents and kids feel at home with random surprises like this!  They knew Kyle Nash is into planets so they were so nice enough to print out Solar System photos for Kyle to color!

We were also greeted with fresh serving of fruits to jump-start our day!

No words needed, I was full and contented!

MUST-ORDER ALERT

Beef Tapa!
I was surprised we were offered their best-selling dish even during breakfast!  I had to ask for my favorite sunny-side egg to go with this!

After our breakfast, we were lucky enough Ms. Joanne Golong-Gomez went out of her way to meet us on a Sunday!  We chatted about how Ascott is fully-equipped with guest requirements like a fitness center, a new swimming pool, barber shop and a lot more!  They are really aiming to be a Home Away From Home destination.

That's not it!  Ascott Makati will soon open a premier restaurant under Myron's and a pool bar called Que as well as a ballroom and function rooms.  We were so excited with all the changes done and there will be more surprises coming up for the years to come!

Thank you so much Ascott Makati for the warm welcome, our family definitely felt so comfortable and welcomed we are actually preparing for our next Staycation with our respective families soon!

If you want to relax, give Ascott Makati a try!
Your family will enjoy it!
