I blogged about Make Up For Ever x Icona Pop launch recently and I was able to pick 2 shades out of the bunch! (yes girls, hard decision there!)
What's different with the original Rouge Artist and these 2 that I will be posting today? They are saturated with 25% more pigment, meaning, BOLDER lip color --- better to create a statement.
Aside from that, I love the new packaging! So unique I can easily spot this in my lipstick drawer!
According to the brand, these lipsticks do not only provide intense, opaque color, it also boasts an ultra-creamy, non-drying formula that hydrates the lips for ultimate comfort.
And I picked the 2 formulation to compare...
L-R Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Mat in M401 and Artist Rouge Creme in C211.
In a glance, they both look like this when worn...
Just by looking at the side-by-side photo, I already phone my favorite color! Which one do you think? The packaging itself is so cute and unique I can't help but feel so professional whenever I pull these 2 out!
Swatch:
You can already see the difference of these 2 formulation.
The Artist Rouge Creme has a hint of sheen making it very creamy and smooth. On the other hand, I need a bit of effort in applying the Artist Rouge Mat because you get nothing but pure matte red pigment! Very bold and bright in just a SINGLE swipe.
AMW Wore Artist Rouge Creme C211
C211 is a mauve pink shade that is very unique in its' own way! I may own so many lipsticks as of the moment but I can't seem to find a dupe for this one! I originally thought this lip color is cool-toned but it actually has a warm tone to it! It has a lovely pinkish-lilac look making it a "professional shade" instead of the usual "baby pink" "for teenagers" shade.Don't get me wrong, women of ALL ages can wear this color!
AMW Wore Artist Rouge Mat M401
With ICONA Pop printed on the lipstick bullet, I believe this shade is really for the Red Lipstick lovers out there! As much as I'm not into bright red lip color nowadays, my lips are on its' most drying state because of the cooler weather so as much as I like the bold statement, my lips are crying for help! You can actually see the lines and a bit of bleeding especially after a hours from application! This is a cool-tone blue-based shade that can make anyone's teeth appears whiter! For me to be able to wear this, I need to prep my lips really well with my favorite Lip treatment or lip balm.
The Mat line stays longer on my lips (almost 6 hours) as compared to the Creme ones (around 3-4 hours). Overall, the MUFE Artist Rouge Lipsticks are great in terms of pigmentation, coverage (can cover even highly pigmented lips), glides on smoothly (even the Mat ones) and gives a lightweight feel on every application.
I will definitely go for the Creme variant and pick more Mat shades for clients!
