Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Lip Booster Review

After the launch of the full HD line last year, I used Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Lip Booster in Universal (clear) so many times on #AMWIGStories , I even finished up 2 full tubes and I can't believe I did not blog about it!

I have received several DM's on Instagram asking me which particular lip product I was using as the dryness of my lips definitely disappeared in just a couple of swipes!

Since I got myself a 3rd tube, this time with their newest shade 02 Pink, I've decided to post about it because you can finally see a hint of color making this my ultimate fave especially for girls who have the same lip condition as I do --- dry, parched, super helpless lips!

A pro secret used to boost and prepare tired lips on sets : this hydra-plumping serum hydrates and smoothes, adding fullness and comfort to lips. Wear alone for naturally healthy-looking lips, or use as hydra-plumping mask before lipstick application, wiping off any excess before applying color.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Microfinishing Pressed Powder Review

When the "Banana Powder" from Ben Nye got ALL the raves online, I immediately got one and used it a lot of times for makeup gigs!  I even posted a "tip" on how to use it and create longer-lasting makeup!

One huge complaint that I can say about the Banana Powder from the said brand, it is BULKY and very MESSY!

When Make Up For Ever came up with their own version of a "yellow powder" or banana powder, and this time, in pressed format, I had to grab one and test it out!

Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation Review

One of the few products from the brand that I ordered online, the Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi Use Powder Foundation is what I've been using for the past few weeks.  I have normal/dry skin on some days and this product is actually best used for those with normal to combination skin.  I have a feeling this would lean better to the "oilies" but hey, someone from my side has to try it right?

I must admit, I love ALL Jessie J songs but that is not the reason why I picked this palette.  I originally picked this palette because of 2 words --- LIMITED EDITION.  And you know how it is when you are a make up enthusiasts, you tend to hoard on limited edition make up products just because you are scared you won't get the chance to own them in the future.

But guess what?  My love for this palette goes BEYOND Limited Edition.  I'll tell you more after the jump!

One of the most trusted brand by makeup artists Make Up For Ever recently launched their full range of brow products and your resident AMW was there to cover for you (read article HERE)

And I was asked over email on how to use each product and if they should purchase ALL the products or can survive with just 1 or 2 out of the 3.  My answer?  IT DEPENDS on what you want to achieve and of course, your current brow situation.  I'll show you how using ONE or TWO of each against using ALL 3 would look with photos to prove of course!

Make Up For Ever Make Up Service Menu

One of the most sought after professional make up brand that I heavily rely on is Make Up For Ever.  Aside from the fact that their products NEVER fail me, I also love to use them personally especially their HD line.

When I got an invite to visit their store at Greenbelt branch, I can't say NO to the said invite because, would you believe, I've never stepped in the store?  I usually visit their Megamall branch so this is such a refreshing change.

The Make Up For Ever boutique at Greenbelt is a "swatch-lovers' haven".  All their products are displayed so neatly and you get to see everything at a glance.

I like their Best Sellers Bar where you get to know the brand's top selling products even if you are just a newbie who just walked in the store!  I always advice my make up loving friends to ask the Beauty Advisers on the brand's best-selling product/s as to not to get too overwhelmed with the variety of products displayed.

It doesn't hurt that Make Up For Ever displayed ALL their brushes!  From face brushes to eye brushes!  Even my heart makes a bit of an extra "fluttering" upon seeing this display.

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Mat and Creme... Which One Do I Like?

I blogged about Make Up For Ever x Icona Pop launch recently and I was able to pick 2 shades out of the bunch!  (yes girls, hard decision there!)

What's different with the original Rouge Artist and these 2 that I will be posting today?  They are saturated with 25% more pigment, meaning, BOLDER lip color --- better to create a statement.

Aside from that, I love the new packaging!  So unique I can easily spot this in my lipstick drawer!

According to the brand, these lipsticks do not only provide intense, opaque color, it also boasts an ultra-creamy, non-drying formula that hydrates the lips for ultimate comfort.

And I picked the 2 formulation to compare...
L-R Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Mat in M401 and Artist Rouge Creme in C211.

In a glance, they both look like this when worn...
Just by looking at the side-by-side photo, I already phone my favorite color!  Which one do you think?

Make Up For Ever x Icona Pop Lipstick Line

According to Dany Sanz, Founder & Artistic Director of Make Up For Ever ---
"Lipstick is to makeup what the last brush stroke is to painting... the ultimate, perfectly contained touch of color that completes the work of art.  And just like in art, makeup artists need an infinite palette of colors.  This is why I have developed such a wide range of new ARTIST ROUGE lipsticks, I always want to give makeup artists a profusion of shades and textures to sublimate and create their perfect piece of art."

Thank you so much Ms. Dany!  You pulled an arrow straight to my heart!

That's how Mikki and I felt when we saw the Artist Rouge Lipsticks all lined up in front of us to play, swatch, mix and match!

AMW Reviews: Make Up For Ever ULTRA HD Foundation

Yes, I finally have this!  I've been  lemming for this product ever since it came out in the market!  One of my favorite Youtuber Pixiwoo made a review about this last July!  They said this works well on both oily and dry skin which excites me!  Will this be part of my personal make up regimen?  Will I include this in my professional KIT to be used on my bridal clients?

Truth be told, it is a bit too early to tell, I will be sharing my review based on the 2 full weeks that I've used this!  And you guys know how crazy hot it is with the sudden downpour!  So yeah, perfect scenario to review a liquid foundation!

Make Up For Ever ULTRA HD Foundation photo

I've tried the original MUFE HD foundation a couple of years back.  I did like the finish and feel of the product but I don't know why it didn't leave a mark as compared to Paul & Joe and RMK!  It must be the color matching?  Or maybe, I was just not into HD makeup back then?

AMW Reports: Make Up For Ever Ultra High Definition Complexion Launch

When I studied make up artistry, there wasn't much HD make up products available in the market yet!  Well, if there's one, it is not available in the local market!  Then, just a couple of months after I graduate, I heard about HD foundation and it was from the brand Make Up For Ever.  Then all the other brands are coming up with their own HD make up and I thouht I can't keep track anymore!

I'm glad I'm a beauty blogger because I get to be updated with what's new and my clients will enjoy the fruits of my labor!  Just recently, Make Up For Ever introduces not only High Definition but a ULTRA High Definition Foundation!

And I got to try this last week!

As we all know, Hi-Def make up are perfect for users who are ON CAM --- whether for video or photos.  HD make up are capable of rendering a perfect complexion with almost "no coverage or makeup" result!

How To: Give Yourself a Subtle Makeover!

You know how it is when you do your makeup on a daily basis and you wished you will look at least a bit different on special days?

Well, you can!  And that doesn't entail you to pile on MORE makeup, instead, try to be adventurous and do something different, change a bit of your "usual" makeup routine.

Okay...let me think...I usually like to wear bright lipstick sans eye makeup!  So, if I plan to go on a special event or I need to have my photo taken and I wanted to look nice....this is my game plan to change the way I look..in a very subtle manner.

  1.  I normally wear concealer then set with powder.  For a change, I'll go for full yet still a natural-looking coverage.
  2. Instead of the usual thick brows, I'll leave my brows looking natural and soft.  No harsh lines there!
  3. I will wear a bit more eye makeup.
  4. Instead of the usual dark lips, I'll go for very light colored lipstick!
  5. I tend to shy away frome xtremely pink colored blush, so I'll use it this time!
But please..don't ask me to remove the highlighting part..it is my favorite! Just give it to me okay? :P

How To: Wear Pastel Makeup (and not look like a trying-hard-teenager)

If you are reading this post, the title probably caught your attention! :P
Before you go pointing fingers at me saying I'm trying so hard to look young, well, I'm not! :)  I just have a pastel colored eye shadows that I haven't touched and it's high time I use it and share to my readers who may be a bit beyond 30s (like me...ahem!  Okay, I'm waay beyond 30) and would like to know how to use pastel colored eye shadow without looking like a trying-hard full-blown adult woman trying hard to look like a teenager!

I hope not me! :P

First off...when you plan to wear pastel-colored eye shadow, it is very important to keep the rest of your face clean yet very simple!  Thus, I highly recommend to skip that full coverage foundation and let your skin breathe!  I opted for just a moisturizer, spot conceal key areas like my under eye circles, some redness around my nose and cheeks and set with a powder.

How to: Dark Lips and Dark Eyes

Hello AMW Friends!
Today is the day, the day you probably won't see often!  Me in dark eye makeup and lips!  But I like the change, I like to go out of my comfort zone once in awhile and love it even more when my husband says: "I have a new wife!"  #lol #cheesy

So here's my super quick and easy dark eyes and dark lips look!  I hope you like it!

Why I'm Starting To Religiously Wear Primers

.....and they are from Make Up For Ever STEP 1 line.

You guys know how I can get away without any face primers because of my skin condition (Combination - Normal/Dry).  I only test face primers for the blog and of course, to make sure it is good and safe enough to use for my clients.

But recently, I am enjoying the extra step because I've found a face primer that is meant for my skin type.  The primers are called Skin Equalizer Step 1 and they are from Make Up For Ever.
I've written about the MUFE Skin Equalizer Event last year, if you got as confused as I was with the wide range of "Skin Equalizers" available, well, it will help to know your current skin condition ---
  • Is it oily, dry or normal?
  • What are your skin issues? (Oily skin?  Zit? Large Pores? Sallow skin, etc..)
  • As much as we would like to say ALL, I'm sure there's always the BIGGEST skin issues you have, as for me, it is dryness and sallowness.
Then that's the time you can pick the best Skin Equalizer for you.  I went for Hydrating Primer and Radiant Primer.  I need both!  If I can only go for one, it will be Hydrating!

Why can't I just depend on my usual moisturizers or day creams to use as base prior to make up application?  Well, I tried, and they seem to be absorbed so quickly by my skin that none of the "hydration" was left on the exterior thus make up application could still be a bit difficult especially on those dry areas/patches.

As for the Radiant Primer, one of my favorite is still the Benefit That Gal Primer, but, it doesn't hurt to give other brands a try and I will share to you my thoughts if they deliver!

Radiant Primer Pink adds radiance to light to medium skin.

Hydrating Primer is used for normal skin as it restores balance.

AMW Wears: Make Up For Ever New Artist Plexi-Gloss (Shades 201 and 402P)

Happy Friday AMW Friends!
You probably know by now how I try to steer clear on lipglosses!  Firstly, I have quite a good volume on my lips so I don't need the extra "plump" a lipgloss gives.  Secondly, I am too busy to even bother on retouch and most lipglosses never last me more than an hour!

So why am I holding 2 tubes of what looks like lipglosses?

Because it is the newest gloss from Make Up For Ever called Artist Plexi-Gloss and as much as I want to keep them straight on my make up train case, I'd rather test products before I use them on clients!  And so far, as much as you would like to read my thoughts here, you have to bear with me, scroll down, and enjoy the photos :P
