The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer + Light Reflecting Foundation COMBO

I want to put my point out there that sometimes, less is indeed more.

Especially if you live in a very humid country like the Philippines.

Would you believe it when I say, I almost do not wear full base make up unless I am testing them?  I try to stay away from piling too much makeup on my face for comfort.  And it doesn't hurt to put less product on skin to make it breathe.

I recently replenished one of my favorite Liquid Foundation and Concealer brand ---- NARS.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
Php1,900.00
Available HERE

NARS Light Reflecting Foundation
Php2,950.00

The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer + Light Reflecting Foundation

My NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer shade is M1.5 Macadamia and it worked perfectly on my warm undertone.  It also brightens up my undereye area without the obvious look of having make up on.

Can you see how it blends into my undereye area without sitting on dry areas?

The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer + Light Reflecting Foundation

And for the sake of demo, I applied a light layer of NARS Light Reflecting Foundation in shade M1.5 Vallauris to prove a point to you that once you find the right shade math of concealer and foundation, the effect will always look natural no matter how much you apply it.

Here's a photo of me applying concealer and foundation ALL OVER FACE.  Do you still see why I love these combo?  They look like my own skin!

A power duo that I can't miss repurchasing because they work for me!

How do you like this brand?

Would you go for Concealer only?

Barry M Fresh Face Look

When Barry M Launched their Fresh Face products a few months back, I did a look which I posed on Instagram Reels.  Until this day, I still use a lot of their products for quick and easy makeup looks.  Their products are lightweight and easy to work with even for first time makeup wearers.

Price points aren't bad for the quality.  I have known Barry M since I have been a fan of their Nail Lacquers.  I also like the fact that the local distributor brought in their makeup line because I have read reviews on international blogging sites that these makeup were good!

AboutFace Cosmetics Review

A new makeup brand landed on my desk a few weeks back!  I immediately tried it and found these promising!

A brand called AboutFace.

The brand was launched last June 2019 and is a new entry in the makeup world but I find their products to be packaged simply yet with quality.  I also like how straightforward and easy-to-understand these products are.  Based from research, AboutFace Cosmetics are manufactured in Japan and Korea.  The products are said to be gentle enough to be used daily.

Benefit Hello Happy Air Stick Foundation Review

Hi AMW Friends!
I have shared a First Try Video located at the bottom of this article my first try on Benefit's Hello Happy Air Stick Foundation.

After a week of testing this product out, I am ready to share my in depth thoughts for you to be able to decide if you need this foundation in your life!

Benefit Hello Happy Air Stick Foundation Review

Benefit says ---
Benefit’s NEW Hello Happy Air Stick Foundation with broad spectrum SPF 20 PA+++ sunscreen glides on silky-smooth for longwearing, medium coverage that feels weightless & breathable. This stick foundation blends & builds seamlessly for natural-looking coverage that never looks cakey. Soft, lightweight powders & shea butter create a light-as-air feel and smooth texture on skin. Formulated with a happy blend of chamomile & botanical extracts and a subtle lavender scent.

I honestly felt it was the LIGHTEST foundation I've tried during my first try video and my thoughts remain the same until this very moment!  The Benefit Hello Happy Air Stick Foundation deserves its' name - light as air, felt like you are wearing NOTHING.  Not even a BB Cream, CC Cream, Tinted Moisturizer can top that!  It felt like powder foundation minus the powdery texture!  It just felt like your own skin!

I own the first Stick Foundation from Benefit and I honestly loved it until this very moment.  I hail it as the "most coverage" foundation Benefit came up with because most of their base products give off a light to medium light coverage!  This stick foundation is what I would use for shoots and as concealer because of its' hydrating properties.  Since most Filipinas have oily skin, I guess they steered clear to it because I have to admit, you'll need a separate powder to set it!

I guess Benefit answered the call for help and it came right on time during the Pandemic were people need to wear mask.  This isn't hydrating as the first version yet it doesn't dry out my already dry skin!  It has a light to light medium coverage (even a bit lighter than the first version) but this product is definitely buildable because no matter how many times I build, it remain weightless.

Check out my half face look!

Benefit Hello Happy Air Stick Foundation Review

You may notice that my skin looks like skin.  I look like I am not wearing any makeup at all which may pass this product as "I woke Up Like This Makeup Product".  Thankfully, since it has a matte finish, it has least transfer as opposed to the previous base makeup from the brand.

Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Effect Makeup, Prime + Anti Shine Review + New Insta-Fix!

Year 2010, Revlon first came out with their PhotoReady make up line and I tried 3 of their products --- Revlon PhotoReady Liquid Foundation, Powder and Translucent Finisher and I was impressed!  For a drugstore brand, I highly recommend them especially for start-up make up artists!

Fast forward to 2015, they came up with an even better PhotoReady line, this time, their liquid foundation has an "Airbrush Effect" and they added up an Insta-Fix (perfect for those selfies) and a face primer that has a balm-y texture!

AMW Reviews: The Face Shop Oil Control Water Cushion (V201 Apricot Beige)

Guess what?  I was indeed very excited when I got The Face Shop's Oil Control Water Cushion as part of my BDJ Elite Box recently and I road-tested it right away.

I missed hovering around TFS looking for what's new and hot!  I haven't been going out just to "shop" nowadays due to my intensely busy schedule but I am so happy God gave me ways to still be up-to-date with the things I love to do --- trying and testing out skincare and makeup products.

A photo of The Face Shop Oil Control Water Cushion

For my type of skin, I believe "Cushion" type of foundation is a key for that dewy finish.  I've tested out a couple and this one I believe is the most unique because most cushions I used caters normal and dry skin while this one from TFS is said to work even for oily-skinned users due to its' "Oil Control" function and yet, still moist enough even for my skin type!

Maybelline Dream Satin Skin...Is Really A Dream!

So I was sent a "product review" request by one reader via IG account and I promised her I'll have a look!  I was too busy to shop for makeup recently then these 2 fell on my lap!

Thanks Maybelline Philippines for sending these for review because I've been itching to try these 2 since its' availability in the market!  The shade matching isn't correct though but for the sake of review, I used the liquid foundation whenever I work at home and the powder is quite okay to use because like I said, I like darker face products because my face looks a tad bit lighter than the rest of my body!  (Weird I know, but true!)

P.S. Sorry for the messy polish, I am testing out Solique Gel Polish and been wearing it for more than a week!

AMW Reviews: Make Up For Ever ULTRA HD Foundation

Yes, I finally have this!  I've been  lemming for this product ever since it came out in the market!  One of my favorite Youtuber Pixiwoo made a review about this last July!  They said this works well on both oily and dry skin which excites me!  Will this be part of my personal make up regimen?  Will I include this in my professional KIT to be used on my bridal clients?

Truth be told, it is a bit too early to tell, I will be sharing my review based on the 2 full weeks that I've used this!  And you guys know how crazy hot it is with the sudden downpour!  So yeah, perfect scenario to review a liquid foundation!

Make Up For Ever ULTRA HD Foundation photo

I've tried the original MUFE HD foundation a couple of years back.  I did like the finish and feel of the product but I don't know why it didn't leave a mark as compared to Paul & Joe and RMK!  It must be the color matching?  Or maybe, I was just not into HD makeup back then?

AMW Reports: Make Up For Ever Ultra High Definition Complexion Launch

When I studied make up artistry, there wasn't much HD make up products available in the market yet!  Well, if there's one, it is not available in the local market!  Then, just a couple of months after I graduate, I heard about HD foundation and it was from the brand Make Up For Ever.  Then all the other brands are coming up with their own HD make up and I thouht I can't keep track anymore!

I'm glad I'm a beauty blogger because I get to be updated with what's new and my clients will enjoy the fruits of my labor!  Just recently, Make Up For Ever introduces not only High Definition but a ULTRA High Definition Foundation!

And I got to try this last week!

As we all know, Hi-Def make up are perfect for users who are ON CAM --- whether for video or photos.  HD make up are capable of rendering a perfect complexion with almost "no coverage or makeup" result!

Unsung Hero: Benefit's Play Stick Foundation

I've done so many works for the brand Benefit Cosmetics.  And mind you, I know all their products by heart!  If you ask me, I have a lot of favorites and not-so favorites!  But I realized, there's one Benefit Product I felt didn't get the attention "it" deserves!  I've used this product so many times on shoot and on myself but realized I haven't done any proper review!  So please let me know if this is also the first time you heard about the product!

AMW Wore Her Favorite Benefit Product --- any guesses?
Definitely not hair product though my hair looks darn full in this photo!  *laughs*

AMW Reviews: Mary Kay Endless Performance Creme-to-Powder Foundation

So it's Tuesday today and I'm off for several meetings!  God is really good!  So before I go, I'll leave you with a review on my most recent foundation from Mary Kay!  If you have noticed on my previous "photo-torial", I used Mary Kay's newest Endless Performance Creme-to-Powder Foundation because the weather was really hot at that time so I've decided to use the least amount of makeup as possible and the Mary Kay one is cream-to-powder letting me skip a step or 2.  (Concealer and Powder).

After using this product several times, I'm ready to share my thoughts on this.  Please keep in mind that I got this as press sample so this is a "refill packaging" so if you purchase the compact itself, it won't look like this.

2 shades that was sent to me was Ivory 2 and Beige 1.

How to Prevent Undereye Make Up from Creasing

Hi AMW friends!  Happy Hump-Day!
I have a quick tip for you guys!  Really quick I promise you!
Don't you dislike it when you apply your foundation, concealer and set it with a nice loose powder and midday, you find your under-eye area creases and dries up?

Well, after several practice on various clients, I've found a way to deal with this situation!

Instead of putting up Steps 1-10, what I'll be doing now will be totally different from normal tutorials or "tips" blog post.  Because I will tell you to UNDO one step.

After your skincare routine and when you are doing your BB Cream, CC Cream or Foundation routine (cream and liquid), skip application on the undereye area.

How to Prevent Undereye Make Up from Creasing
YES!  You read that right, SKIP application on that area and apply your favorite BB cream or foundation all over your face (or wherever coverage is needed) skipping the undereye area.

Let me tell you why!

Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion SPF50 PA+++ (Honey Beige) Review

Cushion foundation is the "in" thing in Korea for the past year.  My first one is Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion.

And because I have dry skin (not extremely dry all thanks to the moisturizers I use!), on days I needed coverage and I can't seem to put on liquid or cream foundation because of extreme humidity, I am actually reaching out the new favorite "cushion" to date --- Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion and it also comes in SPF50+/PA+++ just like the Laneige one.

The packaging is almost the same, or if not, exactly the same as Laneige!  To those who are new to "Cushion" foundation, it comes in a thicker compact powder plastic with sponge.  It is actually foundation all inside this sponge!  I do think about Spongebob EVERY time I use this foundation!  (do you feel the same? lol)

AMW Reviews: L'Oreal Lucent Magique Light-Infusing Foundation

You probably know by now how much I am into liquid foundation that gives "glow from within".  That's why the most recent Max FactorX Skin Luminizer Foundation earned a thumbs up from me because of the "natural effect" it gives + the natural glow.

BUT, can I just say, I've found another drugstore foundation that gives MORE inner glow?  I mean serious inner glow I myself can't seem to understand!

The L'Oreal Paris Lucent Magique Light-Infusing Foundation

Now, oily-skinned readers may be running to the opposite direction after reading my first few paragraphs!  Please, don't!  Let me share to you some information you may need to know, and guess what?  You can decide at the end of the review whether you need this in your life or not!

AMW Reviews: Max FactorX Skin Luminizer Foundation

I have used Max Factor X Skin Luminizer Foundation several times even on a make up photo-torial recently (How to apply make up on dark, pigmented lids).  I tend to grab this particular liquid foundation when I needed the full coverage minus the fake, heavy feel!

But seriously?  Who likes to apply liquid foundation on a very hot and humid summer like this?  Well, ME if I have some coverage!  I also tend to use this as my "lightweight" concealer!

Max FactorX Skin Luminizer Foundation says ---

  • Subtle skin luminizers are specially designed to reflect ‘warm’ light tones.
  • Also contains a hydrator that helps improve skin’s condition to create a healthy glow from within.
  • Medium coverage with a dewy finish.

Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream Makeup Review

When I got several Revlon foundations to test, I have to admit, the brand doesn't fail in making good drugstore foundation!  My first Revlon Foundation was the Custom Creations Foundation which I bought online and purchased 4 bottles as each bottle can give out different shade which I think is one of the best liquid foundation to try when you're starting up on makeup or when you're a student of makeup artistry.

Thanks to Revlon as they are coming up with different kinds of foundation for different skin type!  Revlon ColorStay Foundation in my opinion is meant for oily skinned individuals while Revlon's PhotoReady Makeup is best for Normal or Dry Skin.

What about our mature, very dry skinned friends?  There is indeed one product that Revlon recently came out with...called Age Defying!
