Paradise Dynasty Restaurant Review

Doesn't this food spread reminds you so much of a certain Dynasty in China?
I honestly thought this spread would look like the exact spread an Emperor would face every meal time!  That just proved how much of an authentic Chinese dishes Paradise Dynasty serves.

Paradise Dynasty first opened in Singapore, present in other neighboring countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and today...the Philippines.

Thankfully, the restaurant was inspired by the array of food in the different provinces across China.  So for someone with quite an "impressive palette" when it comes to Chinese dishes, I am quite amazed how I tasted Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern China cuisine in just ONE sitting.

Of course, I have to start with what Paradise Dynasty is known for, their EIGHT First-Of-Its-Kind types of Xiao Long Bao.

8 Colorful Xiao Long Bao
Php388.00
Original (white), Ginseng (Green), Foie Gras (brown), Black Truffle (black)
Cheese (yellow), Crab Roe (Orange), Garlic (Grey) and Szechuan (red)

Out of all the 8 flavors, I got to taste the Original, Black Truffle and Foie Gras.  My favorite goes to....

Black Truffle Xiao Long Bao
Php330.00 for 6pcs
Php540.00 for 10pcs

Everyone in the room loved this!  I guess we are the Black Truffle generation!  Let me talk about the original Xiao Long Bao before I proceed with the flavored ones.  I must admit, Mr. AMW and I have been searching high and low for the best Xiao Long Bao in the Metro, the first one that won our hearts was from Suzhou Dumpling, then we tried Crystal Jade which is quite good then Din Tai Feng isn't bad considering it tastes way better in Shanghai.

After trying Xiao Long Bao from Paradise Dynasty, hands down, this is the best Xiao Long Bao if you ask our taste buds!  The skin is just right (not too thin or thick) and it has the right amount of "soup" that flows into your mouth on every bite!  The pork has this soft and smooth texture making it easy to swallow without any rough spot!  (if you know what I mean).

So the Black Truffle is a true winner because you can still taste the original Pork from Xiao Long Bao with an added hint of Truffle oil.  Something you would definitely go back for!

Pan-Fried Shanghai Pork Buns
3pcs for Php138.00
For the price, you definitely have to give it a try!  And I tell you, this tastes so good I almost felt like I'm back in Shanghai!  I have a favorite restaurant in Shanghai that I always visit when I go there, I will line up with locals just to bring home these cuties, thankfully, I don't have to do so because Paradise Dynasty delivers.

You don't just get any regular pork bun, it also has a slight sauce that bursts into your mouth on each bite.

Chilled Jellyfish and Seafood Vinaigrette
Php250.00
Not for the faint-hearted!  You must be really into Chinese food to appreciate this dish!  With a kick from chopped chilis and a tangy taste of coriander, I would call this a dish meant to jumpstart your meal!  It is refreshingly spicy!  I personally am not a fan of coriander so I can easily skip this!

Seafood Hot and Sour Soup
Php168.00
If you are not a fan of spicy dishes, then please do not order this!  If you are fond of Hot and Sour Soup then this is a MUST-try.  One of the most "potent", packed with seafood, mushrooms and a whole lot of shebang in a SPOON!  I love that I get to eat so much rather than just DRINK.  Definitely worth every single penny and perspiration!

Shanghai Fried Rice
Php238.00
If you want to enjoy your dishes, go for plain rice, but if you wanted to try an extremely flavorful Fried Rice, this is definitely a winner!  Topped with fat shrimps, you also get a good amount of chopped Pork Asado and vegetables.  Can definitely be eaten on its' own!

Drunken Chicken
Php230.00
This dish reminds me so much of my mom's cooking!  If you are expecting this to be your usual Hainanese Chicken, prepare to be surprised!  The chicken meat is juicy and soft, you better eat with a tiny bit of the soy based sauce that comes with the dish.

Chilled Black Fungus in Peppercorn Vinaigrette
Php230.00
Another chili dish that reminds me so much of a Szechuan cuisine.  The crunchy Black Fungus swimming in a chili oil! I would probably order this again for my mom and dad minus the spice.

Chilled Slice Pork with Minced Garlic and Soya Sauce
Php230.00
Aesthetically bland to look at but packed with so much flavor on every bite!  This is surprisingly a winner in our table because it is literally cucumber wrapped in a chilled bacon with a garlicky sweet sauce!  Very unique dish that's worth a try!

Scrambled Egg White with Fish and Conpoy
Php328.00
Definitely a must-try for egg-lovers out there!  It has a texture of a crab meat but it doesn't have crab at all but fish!  (Close enough though, same family under the sea lol)  But the best way to eat this is to crack the egg yolk and gently drizzle the yolk all over the Egg White.  Mix everything and served in bowls to enjoy!

Deep-Fried Garlic Pork Ribs

Php338.00

Mildly spicy pork ribs that's tender on each bite.  I like how the meat is very juicy yet flavorful!  Goes pretty well with the Shanghai Fried rice.

Stir-fried Shredded Pork in Black Bean Sauce
Served with Chinese Crepes
Php288.00
Upon checking out the menu, I immediately went for this dish.  I literally screamed "WHERE WERE YOU???"  I've had this exact dish back in Shenzhen and it goes with tofu skin.  Though this one is served with Chinese Crepes, the shredded pork itself isn't far from what I had in China!  It may look like noodles (or worms to some) but this is definitely a MUST-ORDER!  The black bean sauce is a bit salty though so best eaten with Chinese Crepes to lessen the salty taste.

Stir-fried Beef with Scallion
Php388.00
One of the most tender beef dish that I tried in my entire life!  I am NOT joking!  I had to order the exact dish to take home for my family to eat!  Even my son who isn't a fan of anything with Beef ate so much of this!  A winner in my dictionary!

Stir-Fried La Mian with Shredded Pork and Black Fungus

Php238.00
This noodle dish tastes so much like the Shredded Pork Dish above and Shanghai Fried rice combined!  Must be the similar soy sauce that was used?  Not a bad dish but I highly recommend not to order rice when you go for this!  Too much carbs...too filling!

Vegetable and Pork Wanton in Signature Pork Bone Soup
Php188.00
The Pork Bone Soup is so filling and almost "milky" in texture!  The Vegetable and Pork Wanton actually has this really soft and smooth texture.

Lotus Paste Bun with Salted Egg Yolk
Php138.00 for 3 pcs
Another must-try for those who enjoy salted egg.

Radish Pastry

Php138.00 for 3 pcs

A really unique starter.  The crush is so crunchy and tasty it tastes almost like the crust of our favorite Portuguese egg tarts (but better!)  Inside you get shredded Radish which actually doesn't have much taste so it's quite a unique change!

Steamed Glutinous Rice Stuffed in Red Dates
Php230.00
Not for the faint-hearted for sure!  Dates are quite unique in texture and taste, just like Coriander, you either love these or hate these!  I went for the latter as I'm never a fan of dates, but the rest of the Bloggers like Rowena and Marj actually loved these!  I'm sure my mom, who's a fan of dates and glutinous rice will enjoy this so much!  Give it a try though if you've never tried dates and I'd like to know which team you are!

Most of the dishes served at Paradise Dynasty are meant to be shared and I'm glad the price range are extremely friendly for the quality of food you get!

The kitchen is very clean and you can see how your Xiao Long Baos are freshly-made.

Each gets to taste their signature Jasmine Tea which is extremely good!  It doesn't hurt that they are served in a very cute golden teapot.

An overview of how gorgeous looking the interiors of the restaurant is! Best for family gatherings, events and on regular days you are just craving for good Chinese Dishes.  Come on, who needs a reason to eat good food?

They also have private rooms that needs reservations.

And of course, the happy couple that eats together stays together...forever!
Darn, we were stuffed!

I have to commend the servers for being extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with each dishes!  I will definitely go back with both families to celebrate good food!
