Wrapping Up My Week + Mini Rant

Disclaimer: Please spare me for the low quality photos as I just uploaded these photos straight from my phone.

I think my week was fruitful (same as every week) but for some reason, I want to wrap my my week with good and bad experiences.

If you are a long-time reader of my blog, you probably knew  how I almost NEVER rant, I am an extremely positive person and I guess that's the reason why I was able to get away with life's stresses with a smile on my face.  But of course, life is not always golden, there are good and bad days and in my case, my day wasn't bad, someone's day was bad maybe.

The highlight of my week is a simple me time with a hair treatment at Teng Roma Salon, S Maison.  I have very dry and sensitized hair, so the  Kérastase Discipline Oléo-Relax treatment + relaxing massage that I got was a great gift to me by God!  Thank you Lord for giving me the extra 1 hour while my son happily plays at the nearby play area.

Update: 5 days after, my hair is still soft and tangle-free, even #yayatab noticed how smooth my hair looks.

Weekend Food Trip at: Mazendo + The Dessert Museum

I have been to Taiwan and tried their food, so when I saw Mazendo Restaurant, hailed as Taiwan's Best Beef Noodle soup, I had to drag my family to dine there after The Dessert Museum family bonding.

If you are on a rush, yes, it is worth the visit!  And double yes, it is authentic!

Let's start with the appetizers that makes people come back for more!

Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings
Php145.00

Though the bottom side was up when it was served, I had this clueless look, why would they offer me a paper?

Thankfully, it wasn't a paper, the bottom side is made of "wrap" fried neatly so you can actually eat it together with the dumplings! Yummy as you get an extra crisp!  Extra will always be good!

Birthday Food Trip at: Uma Uma, S Maison

Whenever we celebrate birthdays, I am sure to gain a couple of pounds because there will always be celebration for --- my family, husband's family, friends and more friends!

And my way of celebration will always be in a restaurant stuffing our faces with great food because that is how I celebrate since birth! :P

Since my birthday falls on a weekday and my hardworking hubby usually stays in the office until late, I've decided to look for a restaurant nearby (which is SM MOA) but I wanted a place less crowded.

S Maison is the answer!  Thankfully, there are more restaurants to choose from and I went for Uma Uma Ramen!

There were only a few items on menu but what the heck?  I LOVE my ramen and I call it my comfort food!  So what's the best place to eat but a restaurant that specializes on Ramen!

Thankfully, for non-Ramen eaters (are you from outer space? :P), they also serve 2-3 rice dishes which is equally good and worthwhile!  No wonder for a boring weeknight, the place was actually packed!

One-Bite Gyozas
Php140.00
Mini gyoza designed for eating in just one bite, especially for women so as not to ruin their lipstick. The gyoza is tasty but sticks together.

They mean it when they say ONE-BITE.  I can even stuff 2 of these at a time! :P  But so far, this doesn't fail!  I've had gyozas so many times in my lifetime and when I say they are good, they are good!

My First Gelish Polygel® Experience

I started exploring on different polish shades as early as Highchool!  It wasn't allowed in my super conservative school but I got away applying wild colors at night, erasing them every morning (ganyan ako ka-addict friends!)

That's why when you ask me to apply nail polish (without nail art), I can do that in less than 5 minutes both hands (complete with base coat, nail polish shade and top coat!)

But some days, I wanted a bit of pampering and I wanted my polish to stay for weeks!  When I got an invite to try Gelish Polygel®  , I was a bit hesitate because based from research, I would need at least 6 hours inside the nail salon and I don't have that much time!

Thankfully, Danny Haile, founder and CEO of Nail Harmony, the company behind Gelish™ Soak-
Off Polish and Morgan Taylor exhausted all efforts to come up with the perfect formula that will allow nail technicians to work faster and more accurately on their customers’ nails. This is how the Gelish™ Polygel® System was formed.  Thanks to Joel for inviting me as I get to try this awesome service at Kallista!

What is Gelish Polygel®?

"It's a hybrid between hard gel and acrylic nails, the Polygel® System was inspired by the
desire to create a product that keeps all the best features of the two; while removing all
the aspects that make them hard to work with."

The system looks like this!

Restaurant Review: Bijin Nabe by Tsukada Nojo

I've always liked S Maison aside from the fact that it is closer to my home and to my Husband's office, it houses so many new restaurants for me to try and enjoy!  And one new restaurant that caught my attention is called Bijin Nabe by Tsukada Nojo.

We, as Filipinos, has always embraced the Japanese Cuisine.  That explains why there are influx of Japanese restaurants seen around Manila for just a couple of years!  And guys, there are so many restaurants yet for me to try!

Thankfully, friends from ARC PR invited me during their media launch because seriously, I'm not the type who would and could line up just to get a seat!  (Mommies with malikot na toddler would fully understand)

Now, let me explain what's Bijin Nabe and what's unique with this farm-to-table concept restaurant.  Once you get to visit, YOU MUST try Bijin Nabe (also known as Beauty Hotpot).

And if you want to try something else, they don't just serve Bijin Nabe, they have a couple more dishes up in their sleeves.  Let me talk about them first before I explain what Bijin Nabe is all about.

Paradise Dynasty Restaurant Review

Doesn't this food spread reminds you so much of a certain Dynasty in China?
I honestly thought this spread would look like the exact spread an Emperor would face every meal time!  That just proved how much of an authentic Chinese dishes Paradise Dynasty serves.

Paradise Dynasty first opened in Singapore, present in other neighboring countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and today...the Philippines.

Thankfully, the restaurant was inspired by the array of food in the different provinces across China.  So for someone with quite an "impressive palette" when it comes to Chinese dishes, I am quite amazed how I tasted Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern China cuisine in just ONE sitting.

Of course, I have to start with what Paradise Dynasty is known for, their EIGHT First-Of-Its-Kind types of Xiao Long Bao.
