CLINIQUE Pop Matte + Primer and Pop Liquid Color + Primer: My Initial Thoughts

I recently attended a launch for Clinique Pop Matte and Pop Liquid Color + Primer at SM Mega Fashion Hall and I couldn't be any happier!

Why?

1. I love the brand Clinique.
2. I love the pop of colors that screams --- My Personality.
3. I love that they now have matte lipsticks and liquid matte lipsticks in more colors!
4. I can mix and match and create any "look" or "vibe" I want!

Brighter, Bolder than ever!

According to my quick chat with Clinique's Katie Reyes, we don't have all the shades available in the US website as of the moment but they are aiming to bring in ALL the shades because you know Filipinas, we love our lip colors as much as we love food!

Clinique Pop™ Matte Lip Colour + Primer

And I actually got 1 from each of the "Pop" to bring home and try and I've worn both over the weekend and here are my initial thoughts!

Also called a Rich Rosy Pink on Clinique's website.  I call this a marriage between Maroon and Fuchsia.

AMW's Initial Review ---

• Super nice container.  You know the exact lip color without opening the tube.
• Pigmentation is good.  Not the same as Liquid Mattes but buildable pigmentation.
• Stays up to 2 hours with eating and drinking.  It stays longer if you set it properly.
• For a matte lipstick, this feels comfortable to wear even on me.  And you girls know my lip condition!
• Long-wearing but not transfer-proof.
• Stays longer on lips without looking dry even after several hours.  Moisture stays longer than Liquid Matte Lip Colours.
• Need to be layered to achieve opaque color.
• Easy-to-remove with regular makeup remover.

Clinique Pop Liquid™ Matte Lip Colour + Primer

Shade: 02 Flame Pop

Flame Pop is an extremely bright red lipstick with cool undertone (Blue base).  This shade would work well on users with medium to darker complexion.  Fair-skinned girls shouldn't fret because they can still wear this color but has to complete the look with a bit of eye makeup and color as not to look washed out.

AMW's Initial Review ---

• Highly pigmented
• The applicator is a tad bit thicker and chunkier than most doe foot applicator so it is a bit of a challenge to create defined lips.  (Practice practice guys!)
• Very lightweight and super comfortable to wear even on users with super dry lips.
• Creamy formula, meaning, this product does not emphasize my lip lines or lip wrinkles.
• Though the "effect is matte", it does have a tiny bit of sheen if you look closely.  BUT, after several hours, once your lips absorbs some of the "moisture" the effect is more matte than first applied!  Which I think is great!
• Surprisingly budge-proof for approximately 2 hours with drinking and eating.  The color starts to fade away evenly after 4 hours above.
• Long-wearing but not transfer-proof.
• Easy-to-remove with regular makeup remover.
