Revlon Romantic Nudes Look

How does one look romantic?
Well, I believe it always starts from "Romanticism from within".  You can't just fake the "romantic look", you have to believe in it THEN you seek for the aid of "make up" and everything will be packaged as ONE.

It wasn't a difficult decision for me to pick the Romantic Nudes palette from Revlon Colorstay Not Just Nudes Collection.  It was the easiest choice, because I've got the romantic bone since birth.

Here's my super simple look using this palette and for the sake of review, I also used the brush that comes with the palette.

Giving that "trying hard doe-eyed look.  Do I look at least HALF-Romantic as I feel? :P

The Revlon Colorstay Not Just Nudes comes in 2 options:
Passionate Nudes and Romantic Nudes
Php1,250.00 each
The Passionate Nudes includes mostly earth tone shades
while Romantic Nudes has an added color to it, pinks, lilac and purple to be exact!

The palette reminded me so much of the Maybelline's The Nudes Eyeshadow and the color palette itself is quite similar to the said brand.

Like I said, for the sake of review, I used all 3 shades from the palette and didn't use any other brush except the applicator that comes with it.

Comes with 10 shades of mix finishes (Matte, Demi-matte and Satin).  As early as now, I can say that there are thumbs up and thumbs down shadows in this particular palette, some are extremely nice and pigmented while others are just plain powdery.

The shades I used for this particular tutorial are the shades I actually LIKE to use!  The taupe colored matte shadow is my "eye contour" shade which I like to apply from the browbone down to the bridge of my nose.

It pays to keep on blending and I have to admit, the dual-ended brush that comes with the palette isn't as easy to use as on photo!  I find it hard to blend everything.

On a lighter note, I like the length of the applicator though.  ---> the only positive side about this brush.

Picking the satin finish pearly pink shadow, I pat it gently on my crease area to brighten up my eyes.  This isn't pearlized or anything so it doesn't make my eyes appear swollen.

On to my favorite magenta-colored shadow which has a satin finish as well, I use this as my Outer-V color and it helps create depth without the obvious "mark".

With a whole lot of repetition on application and blending, it finally looks like this!  Added a touch of liquid liner and mascara, this look is actually perfect for everyday!

After trying out different combination and colors, I am finally ready to share my thoughts on this palette.

  • Not all the finishes are nice, some are dry and powdery.
  • Not all the shadows are highly pigmented.  Some, I need to pack 3-4 times for the color to appear.
  • The dual-ended applicator that comes with the palette is not comfortable to use.  Invest on your own makeup brush set.
  • The shadows do not crease even without primer.
  • The shadows fade midday though if applied without primer.
  • I wish they improve the look of their packaging though!
I guess these palettes are perfect for those who are just starting out on eyeshadow application because even if you make a mess, it won't look as obvious as those heavily pigmented shadows from other brands.  I like the fact that I have many shades to choose from and how many looks I can create in just ONE palette.

Make sure to use an eyeshadow primer to increase shadow intensity and them to last longer!

  1. I love your version of the romantic look. Although I won't be out on a mad dash to get this eye shadow palette since I am not too fond of eye makeups. But I think it's an okay for a starter.

  2. Sweet and simple look, not just for date look it is also okay for an everyday look. There are eyeshadow palettes that cheaper than this and also or delivers more pigment and can give great looks too. I think I will go for the cheaper ones or our local brands.
