A Liquid Foundation That Can Be Used Daily

Half serious, half crazy.
That's me in real life and that's me on photo proud wearing makeup only half of the face! I have been roadtesting the new Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup for 2 weeks now and I am starting to love it... a lot!

Housed in a super thick glass bottle with a nice gold brand name printed so beautifully.  I knew I had to try this well-raved foundation especially in our humid weather.  I mean seriously, I've read raves from fellow beauty junkies internationally but most of the time, the effect is different once tested in a tropical country.

Proven 24-hour staying power. The same long-wear makeup you love, now proven to last even longer. Looks flawless and natural. Feels lightweight and so comfortable, you won't believe it's super long wear. Won't change color, smudge or come off on clothes. Lasts through heat and humidity.
Oil-free. Oil-Controlling. Dermatologist-tested. Non-acnegenic; won't clog pores. Fragrance-free.
Medium to full coverage. Matte finish. Proven 24 hour wear.

"lasts through heat and humidity" got me but the added pump made my heart flutter even more!  Remember (my old AMW readers) those days when I was purchasing MAC pumps separately abroad just because I prefer pump packaging in all my liquid foundations?  Big hugs to you if you remembered those days, you must be a super longtime AMW reader!

I think the original Double Wear Stay-in-Place makeup doesn't come with a pump, but because everyone's been wishing they come in this type of packaging as it is indeed very difficult to control the right amount of product to be dispensed out of the heavy glass bottle, I'm glad the company listened.

There are many shades available for you to pick.  To lessen the headache, they are divided into 3 categories: C for Cool Undertone, N for Neutral Undertone and W for Warm Undertone.

I picked the foundation from the W range and got Warm Creme because I obviously have a very warm undertone.

Swatch: Warm Creme

I personally have combination skin (dry and normal).  I know this foundation works really well for oily skin gals, I am willingly testing this out to see if it will maintain a nice glowy look minus the oily-effect + it must NOT dry out my already dry skin!

As for application, I like to dot a good amount of product all over my face concentrating more on areas that needed coverage and lesser on areas that are quite clear.

Some may pick their favorite foundation brush but I prefer to use a dry sponge and gently dab the product until it blends well into the skin.

Using a dry sponge gives me more coverage!  The Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation has build-able coverage and you can layer up until you get full coverage!

The texture of the foundationit isn't too runny or too creamy, it has the right texture that makes it easy for me to blend in the product even on top of dry skin.  I like to spread out the product as shown above to lessen the thickness making it easy for me to blend product as opposed to applying a lot and having a hard time blending.

Before and After
As you can see, Warm Creme is a perfect match for my skin.  The shade match so perfectly I don't look like I'm wearing any makeup at all!

Now on to the most important part, does it work?

YES!  It covers dark undereye circles (I can skip concealer application), redness, blemishes and a whole lot more!

Which skin type do I recommend this product?  Well, I would say this product is perfect for most skin types!  But, if you have very dry skin, it helps to moisturize or prime the skin first with a hydrating primer or moisturizer and you're set to go!

Even with normal/dry skin, I can actually set my makeup with a setting powder and my makeup is actually good for more than 6 hours!  I actually used this foundation during a hosting event and it stayed from 8:00am to 6:00pm without much retouch.  The foundation does not oxidize my skin but I find retouching is needed on certain areas only (sides of the nose, undereye area and chin).

The product photographs pretty well that's why this is now my to-go-to foundation when I needed more coverage without the heavy feel!

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup is priced around Php2,000+, there are definitely more inexpensive counterparts but if you love the super natural-look and a foundation that photographs really well and stays for hours, you may want to invest into this!

How do you like the effect of Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup
 in Warm Creme on me?

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

  2. Hi! You're probably the only dry-skinned blogger that I read (hehe) so I feel that you might be able to help me out. I used to have really oily skin but lately, my skin is leaning more on the dry side (it usually becomes dry in colder months but now even before its cold, dry na sya, and drier than ever). Even if I moisturize (I use Physiogel, the only that doesn't irritate my skin nowadays), it's still dry, lalo na with the foundation that I have (well, for oily skin kasi nga oily ako before). And it gets worse, if I don't set with powder kasi it just melts; if I set with just a liiitle bit of powder, ang dry ng skin. Any suggestions for foundation? My skin generally can't tolerate silicones, mineral makeup (because of silica), and fragrance. :( Help, please!!!

    1. You need to hydrate your skin really well at night since day time moisturizing may make your skin oil-up and makeup disappear. That's what I do, very heavy creams at night and use only serums or lightweight creams in the morning. Also try to use lesser makeup when your skin is dry, use concealer then set with lightweight powder.

  3. Hello! May I know what is your skin shade in MAC, Maybelline, L'Oreal or any other brand?
I believe we are nearly of similar shade...
I am looking at this foundation shade... I have Estee Lauder 3N1 (Ivory Beige), 2W2 (Rattan) and 3W1 (Tawny) and none of these shades are truly my shade. Rattan is the nearest to me but I think looking at few reviews like yours online, 3W0 Warm Creme will suit me...
Before I buy another foundation which is not my shade, I would like to hear from your. Regards!
