AMW Cooks: Tuna Baked Mac

The Holy Week is coming soon and some of you are following the No Meat Diet for sacrifice.  I know you'll see "hotdogs" in this dish because my son loves them, but I suddenly thought why not recreate one comes "no meat season" minus the hotdogs?  It will taste as good I promise you!  This dish was swiped off that same night and there were only 3.5 of us in the family!  (0.5 is my son by the way!)

AMW Tuna Baked Macaroni Dish

Ingredients:
  • Elbow Macararoni (any brand, I bought San Remo from supermarket just because it was right in front of me and so far, I'm happy!)
  • Spaghetti sauce (Del Monte because been using this for YEARS!  Tip: I like to mix Italian Style and Sweet Style!  Really yummy!  No need to adjust flavor)
  • Gold Seas Tuna Chunks in Herb and Garlic.
  • Chopped Onion and garlic.
  • Chopped Bell Pepper
  • Chopped mushrooms
  • Optional: Hotdogs

Different kinds of cheeses.  I like my baked mac less salty so I did not use any Quick Melt cheese.  (You can opt to use that)  Instead I used mixture of Mozzarella cheese, Cheddar Cheese and Parmesan Cheese to be used after baking.

Cook the pasta like how you would cook spaghetti.  I like to saute onions, garlic, bell pepper and chopped mushrooms, add spaghetti sauce and once cooked, gently combine the cooked macaroni making sure the sauce covered all the pasta evenly.

Grease pan and layer the macaroni thinly as shown on photo below.

Add your favorite cheeses and add another layer of cooked macaroni and do the same!  Since my dish isn't big, I only did 2 layers but if you have bigger baking ware, feel free to add more layers.

Bake in 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until the top of the cheese is golden brown.
Let it cool...

Serve and enjoy!
