Why I Love Aureo La Union

A lot of you who follow me on Social Media probably saw that I spent a couple of days in Aureo La Union with my family after my birthday.  It was a nice post-birthday celebration with my family and it was a good breather to be out of the city!

Aureo Resort is located in the heart of La Union and it took us a good 4-hour drive going there (thanks NLEX and TPLEX!)

Let me tell you just SOME of the many reasons why I love it there.

LOCATION
I did say it took us 4-hour long drive but it was the easiest drive for us (I like the drive going there better than Tagaytay as it is less congested, just make sure to travel off-peak hours)

Located at San Fernando, you can easily find it there via Waze.  You won't miss this sign!

And if you're the type who loves to go surfing or maybe food trip in La Union?  You can easily drive for about 30 minutes and you are there at San Juan, La Union.

THE SERVICE
Upon entering the resort, I was greeted by the guard and receptionist and was offered a welcome drink right away.  Such a perfect way to refresh ourselves after a long drive.

I also appreciate how the staffs tried to talk to my son who was running around as his legs were also "dead" from the 4-hour drive.

THE ROOM
Since it is a resort, I was expecting them to offer just the "basics" for any overnight stays.  But thankfully, I got a 5-star room treatment.

For De Luxe Room, you can opt for 2 Queen or 1 King-sized bed and we went for the latter as we are clingy that way!  The bed is extremely soft and the pillows are very fluffy!  It didn't take us much time to get accustomed to the new bed.  Kyle didn't have any complaints he slept soundly the first night.

Because the bed was so comfortable, at one point, we stayed in (because it was extremely hot that afternoon) and just played hide-and-seek and pillow fights!

So this was US after the pillow fight, messy hair, mischievous smiles.

Complimentary water, coffee and tea were provided and you also have an electric pot for hot water anytime of the day!

The bath area is very clean and modern and toiletries like soaps, shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste and toothbrush were also provided.  I appreciate that they have kick-ass blow-dryers in there!  Not the small ones that let you dry your hair forever!

And you get a "lounging area" just right outside the room with tables and chairs for you to enjoy the sun, the sea and the view!  Now, speaking about the view....

THE VIEW
The biggest reason why I would love to go back to Aureo La Union is because you get picturesque view in ALL ANGLES!  When I say all angles, I mean it!  You can literally just pull out your smart phone, snap a photo and the outcome will look like a postcard!

Day time Aureo right across our room.

The view INSIDE my room.

When you eat your breakfast at the Coast Restaurant which is just a couple of steps away from the room, you also get a view!

That's not all, let's talk about Sunrise and Sunset.  For some reason, the sun is as its' most gorgeous state here!

THE INFINITY POOL
There are a total of 2 swimming pools at Aureo and thankfully, our room was situated near the newest and bigger pool.  I also like this area because it has the kiddie pool which we stayed most of the time.

Kyle was a bit hesitant to go down the pool at first but once we dipped a bit, he got so excited and forgot he has a mom!  *laughs*

You can also rent inflatables shaped in Pizza, Donut or even Flamingo (Php100 each)!  Tsum Tsum not included as we brought our own props!

I was able to bask under the sun while the Mr. look after my son!  It was really a relaxing moment for me!  I didn't get much tan as my sunblock was working REALLY well!

Once you go on the other side across the kiddie pool, you see the beach!  This is a good redundancy in my opinion - water after water!

THE BEACH
Let's talk about the beach, it isn't white sand beach like the ones in Boracay or Palawan but dear friends, for a 4-hour drive and no need to hop on a plane?  I think that's good enough!

The sand is actually relaxing to step on, not the coarse ones!  I also like that the waves are just right, nothing scary where I don't mind having my kid wander around (within my eyesight)

Look at him having so much fun playing on the sand!  We didn't build any castles but he obviously planted a lot of Tsum Tsums!  *laughs*
(No Tsum Tsum were harmed during the vacation, I got them all back!)

THE FOOD
I've had friends messaging me telling me how much they loved the food at Coast Restaurant in Aureo La Union.  I was given so many choices but I only get to eat their breakfast.  I was expecting a buffet breakfast but we were given a menu to order A La Carte (probably because it was low season and not much people were staying there so there's no point doing buffet breakfast!)

Everything we ordered tastes really good, but if you are extremely hungry, 1 plate may not be enough for you so feel free to order another one because they aren't that expensive anyways.  (1 plate around Php200-300.00)

Embutido
I really love this!  I just wish they gave bigger piece!  Nabitin ako guys!

THE BONDING
Out of everything that I've mentioned, my most favorite part about this trip is how it puts our family closer together!  I try so hard not to travel much with my active toddler especially on rest days because, I wanted REST!  But, Aureo La Union is not just a "hangout area" for friends and lovers, I actually approve this place for families!  There are so much things to do in this resort and I like how we enjoyed the most simple things in life...such as....

Us lounging on the garden with swing.

The simple walk from our room to the restaurant and we love passing by the mini bridge!  We ended up walking back-and-forth this bridge as we sang the song of "London Bridge is Falling Down".

His best times are spent playing in the sand with mommy and daddy!
I love how we talk about building castles - Mickey Mouse is a prince while Minnie Mouse is a princess.  We talked so much and I love how he can visualize his fairytale stories as we build characters and things with the sand.

Props to Mr. AMW for going back and forth the sea just to provide us water using a mini pail we brought with us!

And just when we thought he'll get tired after the sun sets, we continued bonding by splashing water as we sit on the side of the pool.

And when he gets bored?  You can always throw in some fun activities like drawing the back of the plate mats!  He was actually drawing the logo of Aureo La Union the whole time and copied the rest of the drawings (leaves and all + planets)

If you are taking along a kid who gets bored easier, make sure you bring all his favorite toys, books and pens!  We even brought with us a Chromecast which we ended up NOT using as the TV inside the room has Cartoon Network and other kiddie shows!

Now here's a quick glimpse on how I feel about my staycation at Aureo La Union:
  • Staffs are very friendly and helpful.  Whenever we come home from outside the resort and has a lot of things on hand, they would offer help EACH AND EVERY SINGLE TIME!
  • The rooms are spacious and very modern-looking.  We dislike dark hotels which can scare my son so I appreciate that the room has ample lighting at nighttime.
  • The walk from the entrance to our room is a bit far, you don't mind the walk as the resort made a nice path for you to walk.
  • Food is good but service could get slow.  So make sure you are NOT extremely hungry when you order food.
  • There are ample parking space right in front of the entrance.
  • The pool is really nice and clean and you have Lifeguards roving around the area.
  • You get best of both worlds, pool and beach with just a few walks away!
  • The resort offer water activities which I felt bad I didn't get to try but I'll definitely try them when I get back (when Kyle gets older!)

I personally think all families should get a couple of days of staycation once in a while to bond and to relax from work stress.  I actually came back with my mind refreshed and heart full!

Aureo La Union rooms are priced around Php4,000-Php7,000 per night (depending on season and room type).
