The Body Shop Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation Review

The Body Shop has been around for YEARS!!!!  I remembered as a start-up Blogger, one of the first brand that reached out to me (from the US pa ha!), is The Body Shop US team who let me try their Mineral Makeup Line.  Ah, those were the days I started to learn about the brand and fall in love with them.

Fast forward to more than 10 years, they definitely "up their game" with more promising makeup line, promising enough I can actually use this on a professional level!

Interesting?  Are you ready to read further?

The Body Shop Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation Says ---
Combat skin imperfections throughout the day with our 100% vegan Matte Clay Foundation. This lightweight foundation is enriched with skin-clearing tea tree and leaves a breathable, yet full-coverage matte finish. It’s also resistant to water and sweat. Apply with our multi-tasking complexion blender for a flawless application.

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Packaging.
  • Buildable coverage.
  • Medium to full coverage.
  • Amazing coverage even with just a thin layer.
  • Can cover up dark spots, pimple marks, acne marks and undereye circles.
  • Skin looks even ad natural.
  • Non-drying.
  • Has a good amount of oil control.
  • Lightweight feel.
  • Non-greasy.
  • Has tea tree oil!  (My favorite) which helps prevent further breakouts! - personal experience.

Cons

  • May oxidize a bit so you have to check the right shade for you.
  • Very oily skin users will need to retouch after 4 hours or so.

Overall
A good coverage, lightweight foundation that can cover certain spots and marks.  Has tea tree oil so it helps combat further breakouts.

Tips
  • An oil control primer is still needed if you have extremely oily skin and don't forget to set oily areas with translucent powder
  • For users with dry skin, moisturize skin to prep skin before application.  You can opt not to set with powder as the finish is matte.
  • Best to be applied with dry sponge if you want more coverage.
  • Use damp sponge for light to medium coverage.
  • Can be used as a concealer because of the non-drying matte finish.

Will I repurchase?
YES!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Works for all skin types!  Those who loves The Body Shop Tea Tree line, this is a great makeup to use.

Where to purchase and how much?
At local The Body Shop stores priced at Php750.00.

I like to use The Body Shop Beauty Blender when I apply this!  The Body SHop Beauty Blender is another story!  It is wonderful and I love the sharp tip!

(Note: The sponge has a bit of lint from the towel after washing, but nothing bad!)

Since I am opting for more coverage, I use the sponge dry and apply a small amount all over my face.  The shade Savannah Pecan is a shade darker than my neck but I like the "warmth" it gives so I apply only a small amount.

The warm undertone is a great corrector to be used on undereye area.

Have you tried The Body Shop Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation?

Fellow dry skin and normal skin gals do not have to worry about this foundation, it may sound too thick (blame the "clay" word) but the effect of this foundation is extremely natural!
