Cathy Doll Pretty Volume Mascara Review

I pretty much skip mascara application nowadays because I accepted the fact that my lashes are non-existent, and if I wanted to add volume on my lashes, I depend on false lashes!  

But when Cathy Doll finally came out with their own mascara called Pretty Volume Mascara, I knew I had to give it a try right away because....a mascara this cute needs attention!  I've given this enough attention for a full month and I'm ready to share if this gives wonder to my non-existent, sparse lashes (or not!)

I'm not pulling your arm when I said this product is cute!  Just look how eye-catchy the packaging is!

Pros

• Packaging!
• Formulation is just right, not too dry or runny.
• Hourglass applicator is actually cool and easy to use.  It doesn't touch my lid as compared to other bristles.
• Smudge-proof and smear-proof.
• The effect is extremely natural.  
• No clumping.  No matter how much I applied, it did not clump together.
• The product felt like "powder" instead of liquid so it doesn't feel heavy on lashes.  
• Easy-to-remove with regular eye makeup remover.
• Stays until makeup removal.
• Price.

Cons

• Since this is a "volume" mascara, you won't see much lengthening.
• Does not "keep the curl" of the lashes.  My lashes go stick straight several hours after curling.

Neutral

• Has a tiny hint of fragrance.

Overall
A smudge-proof, waterproof mascara that works for our humid weather.  It does great in making each lash strand looks thicker than usual but it does not add up to the length.

Tips

• If you aim for length, Cathy Doll has Dolly Long Mascara which isn't available locally, but in Thailand, it is!
• Never pump the mascara in application to prevent air from getting in to the tube making it easier to dry out.
• Always remove excess mascara on the side of the container to prevent clumping.
• Start application from the bottom of the lashes going to the tip.  Repeat from bottom to tip as necessary. 
• Curl lashes before use.  
• If you have extremely oily lashes, gently pat your lashes with translucent powder (eyes closed) before mascara application. 

Will I repurchase?
Yes.  Such a lightweight, easy-to-use mascara.  I just wish they have one that lengthens and volumizes in ONE product.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Those who already have long lashes and needed volume.

Closer look on the wand.

The formulation of the product is like power instead of the usual liquid texture.

I like it that the manufacturing and expiration date is clearly printed so I can keep track on life span of my makeup.  Especially mascaras since I have sensitive eyes.

For application, I like to wiggle starting from the bottom of the lashes up to the tip.

Making sure to coat them evenly.

It maintains the curl on first few hours but I found my lashes facing downwards due to heat and  humidity.

See how much volume was increased?  I would say 2-3x!

Side View, it does not lengthen my lashes which I did 't expect anyways since this is a Volume Mascara.  I like how this turns out to be my daily/everyday mascara because the effect is extremely natural and no clumping at all!

For a first Cathy Doll mascara, I'm happy with the result and I can't wait to try their other variants.  I wish the brand would come up with a 3-in-1 mascara (Volume, Length + Curl).
