Sleek MakeUP Lifeproof Foundation Review

Sleek MakeUP was obviously excited when they launched their newest foundation line --- the Lifeproof Foundation that gives medium to full coverage.

I, AskMeWhats, after 10 full years of Beauty Blogging got even more excited!  Because these foundation are said to be sweat-proof and oil-free too!  And best of all?  I heard these foundations come in 15 shades and can work for all skin types!

I was ECSTATIC...I used them and tested them right away!

Lifeproof your look with this foundation that goes the distance. Soft-focus powders create a blurring effect and help to reduce the appearance of fine lines. The oil-free formula can help skin look even and shine-free, whilst imperfections are concealed.

Okay, honestly speaking, I will NEVER be sold with anything that says Sweat-proof and oil-free to work for my combination (dry/normal) skin.  But what excited me the most as a Pro MUA is the fact that the shades are categorized into the ff: Fair, Light, Medium and Medium Deep.  That said, I can easily pick 1 shade from Fair/Light, another from Medium and the third one is Medium Deep which comes with 3 different tones of Dark shades which I can easily mix and match to use on clients.  I highly recommend start-up MUAs to also try these because these are affordable and COVERS REALLY WELL!

Now, let's not get into that yet.  Let me show you the packaging.

Housed in a tube plastic packaging, it comes with clear description at the back even ingredients list well displayed.  I personally like to put a white tape (you can purchase at any bookstores) and right the name so I can easily see it as opposed to trying to look for shade numbers.

I personally think shades LP04 to LP05 will be the perfect shade for me as these 2 are leaningtowards light skin with yellow undertones.

While LP02 (which I got) is actually perfect for users with fair skin and neutral undertones.  But again, I'm not worrying as I can always add a drop of LP06 (light with pink undertone) to deepen the shade and darken it a bit.

Blended Well
Since this has neutral undertone and my skin tends to have a bit of redness,
I can actually wear this shade alone!

As for application, it is important to keep in mind that this is cream foundation with medium to full coverage so A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY!  To those who enjoy the "plakadong" (thick makeup), it is okay to apply more than a dallop but I like to apply all over my cheeks as shown on photo below to cover up all the bases but not in a "thick foundation" manner.

For this particular foundation, I like to use a dry sponge to gently blend everything including the neck.

Half Face Test

After using this foundation for a week to be exact, here's what I have to say!

AMW says ---

  • Packaging is wonderful.
  • A little goes a long way and the foundation does give medium to full coverage.
  • Can double up as concealer/foundation.
  • Lightweight, grease-free!
  • Does not settle into lines, I actulally enjoy the coverage and use it as a concealer too!
  • Gives an even, matte-finish.  Dewy base makeup users may not like the super matte-effect.
  • I did mention this works for users with dry skin BUT, if you did not moisturize skin properly, it may enhance a bit of the dry patches around your face to be careful to prep your skin properly.
  • Does not enhance pores and blends out pretty nicely.
  • Long-wearing.  Stays until makeup removal at night with a little bit of redness showing on the sides of my nose but can be handled well by setting well with oil-control powder.
  • Can control oil but again, you have to set it properly especially since our weather is extra HUMID and HOT, sweating can still move a "lifeproof fondation".
  • Can even out everything and my skin looks brighter and glowing.
  • Can cover redness, undereye dark circles and spots.
  • To those opting for natural-looking foundation, this will not make the cut as this will give out an obvious "foundation" look.
Overall, I am happy and surprisingly using this foundation even after reviewing for a week (still using this today as I'm typing this article).  I like how my makeup doesn't move as much and I like the coverage I get with just a little amount of makeup thus my makeup does not feel heavy.

I just need to be careful in application on dry areas making sure I moisturize the area well before applying Sleek Lifeproof foundation.

As for oily skinned users, you will enjoy the super matte effect and how it can hold oil for an hour or 2 longer than regular foundation as long as you set your makeup properly.  Just make sure to use a primer underneath if you have enlarged pores as I worry this makeup may tend to enhance it a bit.

I am happy with this foundation and will definitely recommend this to medium to full foundation wearers!  For daily use, I prefer to spot conceal using this foundation as it may have full coverage but it feels lighter than most cream concealers!

Have you seen or tried Sleek MakeUP Lifeproof foundation?
Would you like to test this out?
