Glossier Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick Review

Shouting to the world how busy March was and I am NOT complaining!  Thank you Lord for keeping me busy each day doing the things I love to do so I am extremely grateful.

So, I shared unboxing stories on my Instagram account last month and one of the most requested review is the Glossier product.  I got 2 Glossier products and I am sharing my thoughts on the Glossier Generation Sheer Matte Lipstick in ZIP.

Generation G is a new kind of lip color that gives the look and finish of just-blotted lipstick, without the blot. We’ve created a short list of the six most important shades, with dialed-down pigment loads for a casual look. They’re lipsticks that adapt to you, not the other way around, so they'll appear a bit different on everyone as your natural lip color shows through. The effect? Diffused, matte goodness—just swipe it on.

True enough, this is a sheer matte lip color that is buildable.  1-2 swipe, you get a natural just-blotted your lips look while 3-4 swipes will give you full on color!

Zip is a reddish orange shade.  For someone who is not a wearer of red orange lipstick, this formulation is very forgiving and I like to apply heavily at the center of my lips leaving the outer corner of my lips blurred.  I was called a member of Black Pink when I wore this lip color!

AMW says ---

• Has scent. The floral scent is quite strong, personally, it is okay for me but some may  not like it.
• Love the packaging, simple and straightforward.
• The texture is just like that of a powder.  Imagine the lightweight feel, I don't feel like I'm wearing any lipstick at all.
• Does not transfer much on mugs and cups.
• Stays more than 4 hours with eating and drinking
• If you have very dry and parched lips, the pigment will stay a bit on that area so you have to make sure your lips are hydrated before you apply this product.
• Zip is a great pick-me-upper shade, brightens up my face in a very subtle way.
• I love how buildable the shades are!  I can get a very natural lip color or vavavoom night out lips with just 1 product.

Overall, I like the unique texture of this lipstick and true enough, no blotting needed.  It does not dry out my dehydrated lips but make sure to use lipbalm prior to application for the lip color to look even and nice.
