Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation Review

I first talked about the Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation SPF40 PA+++ on IG stories.  At the back of my head as I was talking to you guys, I was also thinking: "Is this a new launch?  Why have I seen this bottle from a couple of years ago?  Is this new or reformulated?"

I've always been a fan of the Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless foundation, but if you want something literally there not only as makeup but skincare, check this out because this product benefits you as both skincare and makeup!

And to answer my previous question, this is the same product launched a couple of  years ago but well-deserved for some special attention.

The product comes with a "dropper" packaging.  I have a love/hate relationship with these types of packaging!  But because this is a mixture of skincare (serum), I kind of get what the brand is trying to achieve.  Plus the fact that this line comes with a lot of shades!  Mixing and matching is actually recommended so the best and most hygienic way to do so is by using a "dropper".  

I actually got 3 shades and I swatched them for you!  All 3 shades are quite close to my skin tone with a warm undertone.  After trying out all shades, Natural is actually a perfect shade for me!

According to the brand, it is best to use the dropper properly but completely inserting the dropper into the bottle, pinch the bulb and release.  Remove dropper and pinch gently to dispense desired amount of product onto hand or brush or sponge.

In my case, I am unsure if I have issues with my dropper for the shade Natural as I can't seem to dispense the product properly.  Because the dropper is made of "glass", there is a tendency that you may get a broken one so it is highly recommended to test the product before you purchase.  

I don't mind pouring the product directly at the back of my hand or in my case, since I claimed this to be a foundation for personal use, I like to apply it straight from dropper onto my face as shown on photo below!  (Please make sure your face is clean and wipe the dropper with a clean tissue after!) 

I like to blend the product with a dry sponge or sometimes, I use a foundation brush depending on my mood.  Any tool or even your clean fingers work!

I've used this as my base makeup for several weeks now and here's what I have to say ---

• Packaging, personally not a fan since the dropper does not reach the bottom so you'll end up pouring the product out in the future!  
• The coverage is light to medium light.  
• This is perfect for users with good skin or those who depend on concealers to cover skin issues and apply this on top.
• Gives off a dewy and healthy-skin finish.
• The effect is so natural I don't look like I'm wearing any makeup at all.
• A little DOES NOT goes a long way, more is needed if you want more coverage.
• Love SPF40 and it does not give me white cast.
• The consistency is smooth and easy to work with. 
• Lightweight feel.

The surprising part of this foundation is how natural and less coverage it gives but the overall effect is amazing!  I wanted to push this aside and say : "I need foundation with more coverage" but I find myself reaching more to this for that super natural and healthy-skin finish!  Every time I use this foundation, I get compliments on how fresh and healthy my skin looks!  That said, I managed to use my favorite concealer to conceal random areas and apply a thin layer all over my skin just to fake that natural glow!

This foundation is not meant for everyone, you have to note that this foundation is best for those who dislikes the heavy foundation feel, those who does not have much to cover but wanted something lightweight to keep skin looking even and fresh!  I personally like this foundation because I have dry skin and I may have skin issues but not a lot!  

Thankful that this foundation does not enhance lines, pores or wrinkles, think of this as a foundation that keeps your skin healthy at the same time covers small imperfections on a day-to-day basis.

I'd pick the latter!  I guess it really comes with age! :D
