Cathy Doll x Hello Kitty Collection (Full Review, Photos, Swatches and Video!)

Hi AMW Friends!

This will be the longest, most detailed review and photos I've done in so many months!  I mean not because I am not taking the other posts seriously, because this is a HUGE collection I can't help but be particular about each item. (And editing the photos and writing and checking shade names took me 2 FULL hours minus the hours of swatching on both arms and face!)

After posting about this on my Instagram, a lot of you commented how you would want me to put up a swatchfest PLUS detailed review. 

Your wish is my command.  After weeks of testing these out, I am ready to share my thoughts with photos and a video!  I hope you appreciate this by commenting and telling me your favorite product in this collection!

Cathy Doll x Hello Kitty Oil Control Blur Pact

This is a translucent powder pact, meaning, there's no color and is meant to work as an oil control powder for the face!  I find this product to be like any translucent pact you see in Korean brands.  It does a good job controlling oil, so good that my skin turns dry because I already have dry skin!  Don't get me wrong, if you have oily skin, you'll love this product, it just won't work for my skin type instead, I love to use this product to set my lipstick because it is "mask season" and this helps any lipsticks from transferring from my lips to my face mask!

The good thing about this product is how it appears transparent when applied and it does not give off a white cast even with flast photography!  You just have to be careful not to apply too much on the undereye area (even if you have oily skin) because this will dry up the undereye area causing your concealer to crease more!  Use a regular powder foundation or powder instead to set your concealer!

Frozen Strawberry on me

This shade is pretty fresh to look at. It is somewhat close to my favorite Lavender shade blush that gives instant "freshness" even if you don't have makeup on!  

Frozen Peach on me

If you ask me to choose between pinks or peach, I'd always go for the latter when it comes to blush.  This is no exception because it has that frosted peach effect given a glowing yet natural vibe.

Choco Cherry on Me

If you ask me, I prefer their SHINE blusher as compared to matte.  Matte is pretty and highly pigmented but very tricky to apply as a little goes a super long way!  You have to be careful by picking a HUGE fluffy brush in application instead of dense and short bristled brush!  If you like dimension and more obvious blush, go for this one!  I just wish they'd bring in more shades! :D

Cathy Doll x Hello Kitty Blur Brow Pencils

I have tested a couple of Cathy Doll Brow products (here, here and here) and most of them get positive feedbacks from me.  BUT, this one from the Hello Kitty collection is amazing in many ways, the pencil is highly pigmented, the shade choices are not a lot but good enough to cover most brow shades!

Aside from that, the pencil comes with a sharpener at the bottom making it a perfect travel companian.  Aside from that, the pencil is soft and easy to "warm up" so it glides on pretty smoothly on my brow area.  You only have to make sure to sharpen before every use to create natural-looking brow hairs.

Cathy Doll x Hello Kitty Color Lipsticks

The packaging of their Color Lipsticks are amazing.  They are the priciest in this collection but still affordable for the quality you get.  The packaging is quite heavy and it has a "magnet" open close cap!  I love the sound of it on every use!  

As for shade choices, they are limited yet really nice and up-to-date!  Though they look dry on the bullet, they are actually soft and easy to apply even on dry lips!

Cherry Bomb on Me

A mauve shade that looks really classy when worn!  This would work for office setting even when you need to go to an important event!  

Sorbet Halibong on me

This has a rust feel!  I originally thought this is an orange lipstic but thankfully, upon application, it has a lesser orange more brown to it making it a swearable color for fair to dark complexion!  

Dry Persimmon on me

A medium brown shade. The most "goth" shade in this collection.  I wouldn't call this "goth" if you have medium to dark complexion because this would appear quite natural and dainty on a user with darker complexion.  This gives off a strong vibe and I'm calling this an-alternative-to-red-POWER-color!

Fresh Berry on Me

A deep wine red that screams CLASSY!  This is a nice red shade to start with by applying a few amount and gently spread out using your fingers!  

Cathy Doll x Hello Kitty Lip and Cheek Matte Mousse

I am usually not a fan of Lip and Cheek Matte Mousse as I prefer to use powder on cheeks.  For the sake of review, I used them on both and here's what I have to say.

Packaging, another thumbs up on packaging as the packaging is quite heavy and I love the old rose cap!  This gives off an expensive vibe which everyone likes!

Swatch

As seen on swatches, they are highly pigmented and a little goes a super long way!  Application on lips is like normal lip product but  be careful when applying on cheeks!

Wearing PUNCH on Cheeks and Lips

My favorite shade out of the 4!  This is the most natural-looking shade and easy to apply.  You won't go over with this blush color as well!

Wearing CARROT on Cheeks and Lips

A rust coral shade that is tricky to use for my skintone.  Since I am pale (without makeup), this could make me look unnatural and uhmm..orange...if not worn properly!  For the lips I don't mind wearing this full-on straight from tube to the lips.  As for blush, I use a stippling brush in diffusing the product!

Wearing WALNUT on cheeks and lips

A shade that isn't ME but looks nice and different.  There are days I want a BOLDER look, this would be the product I would pick!  With just a small DOT applied on both cheeks, the effect is quite nice and I look like I have prominent cheekbones!

Wearing RED RIBBON on cheeks and lips.

The only shade from this collection that I would say --- "Stay out of my cheeks!"  I tried to apply a few amount but even the most few amount would yield a super red cheeks!  I had to restart by applying powder foundation on top of the red cheeks just to cover up excess redness.

But let's talk about this shade on lips!  A very flattering red I would say!  

Overall, if you are  fan of highly pigmented product for both cheeks and lips, you definitely have to pick this because all 4 shades are super opaque and the price is highly affordable considering you only use a few amount to get bold results!

On lips, the product is easy to apply but it will dry out your lips after hours if you have dry lips so it is best to have a lip balm ready.  Applied as cheek product, keep in mind that this works well on users with normal or oily skin as the product will apply smoothly.  If you have dry cheeks like I sometimes do, there may be visible patches from dry skin so you have to hydrate the area with your favorite serum or face cream.

Cathy Doll x Hello Kitty Airy Lip Blur

A very "young" and kiddie packaging in this collection.  I like how Cathy Doll was able to balance ALL AGE GROUP for this collection.  You get something that looks perfect for teens and there will be something for the older generations.  This has a very Hello Kitty packaging bringing me back to gradeschool and highschool memories.

Swatch

Even the shades in this collection screams "YOUNG".  The pigmentation aren't extremely matte but it has a nice natural gloss to it!  The swatches are surprisingly very pigmented but on lips, they look more natural.  This is a perfect product to use if you like to create Korean Gradient Lips.

AMW wears Pink Rose

A pink I would wear!  This feels like cotton candy pink that is quite wearable no matter what your age is

AMW wears Peach Rose

This isn't as pigmented as on swatch but it looks lighter than my original lip color making me look pale if I don't have makeup on,  I like to use this as a "layering" shade.

AMW wears Sun Rose

My lips but better shade would be this particular shade!  I love how it is the "brighter" and healthier version of my lips!  

AMW wears Red Rose

The least pigmented of all, I was quite surprised because I was expecting this to be "red" red but I would call this a Lip tint kind of red!  You can layer to achieve darker red color but I like it quite natural like this.

Overall, I am impressed with Cathy Doll (Karmart) for this collaboration!  Most collaboration looks great on packaging but quality isn't that great.  Thankful that the brand went far and beyond not only with packaging but the quality of the products as well! 

My top pick would be their Color Lipsticks and Lip & Cheek Matte Mousse.  They have the quality of high end makeup and I hope they would continue to make similar makeup with quality as such with the same price range!
