Sand Haze Look

I got this Huda Beauty Sand Haze Palette from Sephora PH.  I used to watch Huda Beauty on Youtube when I still have enough time but stopped for years since turning into a mom!  That does not mean I am not updated with the industry though!  I may not watch as many Youtube Videos as before but I still do duly research for updates on makeup trends and brands.

Huda Beauty, based from my research, rose to fame several years back.  Their makeup and skincare line got raves and rants but I made sure to keep in mind their bestselling products.  One of their bestsellers are their eyeshadows and I want to know why.

A basic and easy-to-use palette called Sand Haze is the way to go if you like a neutral and/or party looks in one.

There are 3 types of palette to choose from: Sand, Purple and Khaki.

According to Huda Beauty —-

This palette comes in 3 different colour stories. Each palette represents the off-duty chic street style scene, that is awash with muted tones of ecru, and cappuccino, tempered with darker, more serious colours like deep brown, khaki green, plus dashes of soft, sophisticated shimmer. Each palette contains beautifully buttery mattes, metallics, and shimmery eyeshadow toppers, in complementary shades of eyeshadow, designed to be used individually or together to create an array of arresting effects. The matte formula is pigmented, creamy to the touch, and seamlessly blends on the lid. The metallics have a creamy, richly pigmented, multi reflective, foil texture. For a subtle shimmer finish, apply with dense, flat eyeshadow brushes. For higher foil-like payoff, these work best with a damp eyeshadow brush/sponge brush or finger. The shimmer toppers, slightly sheerer than the metallics, were baked using a mix of finely milled pearls, to highlight and give an alluring pearlescent glow to the lids. For a subtle shimmer finish, apply with a dense, flat eyeshadow brush. For higher payoff, these work best with a damp eyeshadow brush/sponge brush or finger. The palettes come in a hard shell for extra durability and have a full-size mirror inside for on-the-go ease.

Here’s what I have to say after using this palette for months, without eyeshadow base, without ANYTHING BUT the Huda Beauty Palette.

What Snail Mucin Does To Your Skin – And Why You Should Try It!

Skincare is one of the biggest industries worldwide. In recent years, the demand in skincare has prompted the introduction of many new products and ingredients.  Even I, as a Beauty Blogger for more than 12 years got intrigued with the unique ingredients from different brands.

One of the most popular—that also happens to be the one I’ve tried multiple times!—is snail mucin. But what is it and how do you know if it’s for you?

What Is Snail Mucin?

As the name implies, snail mucin is the excretion of snails. Depending on the brand, some will label it as snail slime, snail extract, or snail secretion filtrate. Regardless of the name, it’s composed of hyaluronic acid, glycolic acid, and glycoproteins which are hydrating, anti-aging, and healing. While it’s not vegan, many South Korean brands are cruelty-free and harvest the mucin humanely.

One of the benefits of Snail Mucin is how they can even out the skin tone.
Many snail serum products are made specifically to correct the skin tone. Indeed, Pretty Me’s review of Snail White Soap highlights how the facial cleansing product is aimed at people with uneven skin tone. Aside from the plant extracts, snail potion is one of its main ingredients, and the concentrate is said to brighten the skin and make it more even throughout. While the product is marketed for the face, it can also be used on the body. In fact, it’s hydrating and anti-inflammatory properties can help eliminate redness, eczema, and hyperpigmentation.  So who among you also apply face creams on your body?  (I’d love to know!)

Secondly, Snail Mucin can also boost skin elasticity.
There is a lot of debate around whether eye creams are necessary or not, but as long as the result speaks for itself, there's no reason you can't do it. In another review made here on AskWhatsNew.com on Esfolio Nutri-Snail Eye Cream, it's pointed out the product helps keep wrinkles at bay—and snail mucin in eye cream helps to do this. Thanks to the mixture of snail filtrate and aloe extracts, any dullness or fine lines are minimized. Despite its rich formulation, the texture is lightweight making it perfect even on hot days.

Thirdly, Strengthening of Skin Barrier!  One of my favorite benefits.
Over the years, skin naturally slows its collagen and oil production. This causes skin to look less bouncy and make it vulnerable to damage. But now think of snails. Despite their surroundings, their soft bodies are hydrated and protected from cuts thanks to their mucus. By applying snail mucin on our own skin, it’s almost like applying a silky layer of armor. This is mainly thanks to the mucus’ moisturizing components that lock out environmental irritants while locking in moisture.

As always, you can enjoy the benefits of snail mucin yourself if applied correctly.  To do this, apply a small amount of the product on the inside of your wrist. If there are no side effects after 24 hours, you’re good to go! Depending on your product, you may be better off using it in the evening so your skin can really make the most of the moisture. If you’re also using retinoids at night, the active retinol ingredients work better with snail mucin as featured on Everyday Health. Though K-Beauty brought snail mucin to the mainstream market, snails have been used for wellness in Ancient Greece and Chile for generations

Today, many products use this magic ingredient for a variety of specific needs. Aside from the examples above, there are plenty of other options that are very affordable, but still effective. Remember that skincare is a fun type of investment. Aside from pampering yourself, it’s a regimen that your future self will thank you for. Who knows? Snail mucin may just be that holy grail your skincare routine needs.

Hairstyle Tutorial: Tiktok Ponytail

How in the world did I came up with such name?

Hahaha, well I learned it from Tiktok for sure!  I forgot to save who created such style but I’ve been seeing a lot of videos doing this same ponytail style so I called it a Tiktok Ponytail instead.

I am usually wary in trying out “QUICK TIPS” especially on makeup, hairstyle and skincare but so far, the ones I am seeing actually work!  Just like this one!

A quick video on how I did this!

It is better when you curl your hair for a romantic twist!  What I like about this style is how my high ponytail stayed that way the whole day!  I have problems with my ponytail especially with my hair length, they usually look good in the morning and disheveled by afternoon.

Nice and functional.  Worth creating a special place on my blog for sure *winks*.

Have you seen this Tiktok ponytail style?

Will you give this a try?

Happy Mother’s Day Mommas!

Happy Happy Mother’s Day AMW Friends!

Who would’ve thought?  8th year being a mom!  And I started blogging at 27 years old with just a boyfriend back then (Boyfriend Mr. AMW!)  I have shared so many milestones here in the Blog and I am getting a bit emotional right now!

I know my blog used to focus on Skincare, Beauty, Hair and Nail Care but it turned into a full blown lifestyle blog with my Recipes, Motherhood tips and just random mom musings!

To my single/non-parent readers, THANK YOU FOR STAYING!

I am a proof that in this lifetime, you don’t need to stick to ONE topic. Yes, I love Makeup and Skincare but I can also talk about a lot of stuff as I weave through my life learning new things along the way!

Kyle thought me so much!  I learned to be 101% more patient, I learned to love drawing (a tiny bit more) :P. And I learned to be more artistic!  As a mom, there are so many things you don’t like to do but end up doing.  I mean, I dislike arts and crafts in school but I don’t have a choice but help my son whenever he has art projects!

For a mom who is not into drawing - come on, if I can show you my old drawings - my Human Portrait looks like an Orangutan! :P.

With Kyle’s love for art, I ended up learning to draw from him!  His shading skills and color mixing skills are THE BOMB for an 8-year old!

It’s not all flowers and butterflies, motherhood is so darn hard even I - who used to be a Professor lose my temper A. LOT OF TIMES!  Life is hard, but life is harder if you do things alone!  I am so happy I’ve got Mr. AMW’s support and a super sweet kid to power-up my super old battery!

To those who kept asking me: “Kelan mo susundan?” (Will you try another baby?)
Kyle himself is already a miracle and a blessing from God.  Having a 2nd baby would be another miracle that we all wished for but having Kyle made me the happiest mom alive!  HE is enough for me to believe in the power of God!

Happy Mother’s Day to all my mom friends here!
If God created human angels, they are called MOMS! (And dads!)
