Barry M Fresh Face Look

 

When Barry M Launched their Fresh Face products a few months back, I did a look which I posed on Instagram Reels.  Until this day, I still use a lot of their products for quick and easy makeup looks.  Their products are lightweight and easy to work with even for first time makeup wearers.

Price points aren't bad for the quality.  I have known Barry M since I have been a fan of their Nail Lacquers.  I also like the fact that the local distributor brought in their makeup line because I have read reviews on international blogging sites that these makeup were good!

Comfort Above All Else: Triumph Talks to Comfident Filipinas in Inspiring ComforTalks

 

Back in school days, I remembered wondering how my classmates are all beautiful in their own ways.  And there you see me, with my head looking down, wearing baggy clothes because I am uncomfortable showing off my body - I felt fat, I felt not as pretty, I just felt..BLAH.

As what I learned recently from Triumph's Inspiring Comfortalks.....

Confidence is not something that you simply have. It takes a lot of work, it can take a long time to build, and there are days when you’re suddenly feeling blah and your sparkle just goes down the drain! But one thing's for sure — the moment your confidence arrives is when you are comfortable inside out. This is why women come forth to comfort. 

Heritage lingerie brand Triumph led this conversation with comfident Filipinas Melissa Benipayo and Patricia Bobadilla on Inspiring ComforTalks on FB Live, hosted by Issa Litton.

Just like many of us, these women didn’t have it easy because of the pandemic. Mel shared how she struggled after leaving her corporate job to become a stay-at-home working mom. Pat also described how she had a hard time putting her health first because of her 6-day workweek. Having to give up working on yourself because of a demanding schedule is surely something most women can relate to!

So how did they triumph over these? They conquered everyday battles through comfort. Pat learned this the hard way, as she’s used to giving up comfort just to look good. But what both of these ladies discovered from their experiences is that confidence is an “inside job”, and you can start by investing in a perfect underwear that will embrace and support you every day. “The right bra makes all the difference. You’ll feel comfortable and supported and ready to tackle whatever obstacles lay in front of you.", Mel added.

Listening to the stories from Mel And Patricia, I realized, women go through almost the same experiences at one point of their lives.  At times, confidence starts by simply wearing the right clothes, the right inner garments, the right hairstyle and makeup.

I can attest to that because it took me years to finally find my COMFORT.

Did I just Forgot to Share My New Haircut???

My first ever professional cut after almost 3 years!

During pandemic, I tediously cut my own hair even if it hurts my back and gave me the most stress!  Yes, I have a certificate in haircutting but cutting your own hair is not as easy as it looks!  I know there are a lot of Tiktok and IG videos out there showing you the "shortcut" and easy way to cut your hair.  Good for them...but NOT FOR ME.

I know a good cut needs the right layering.  There are techniques to keep your hair from "fly aways" and there are techniques to have a good bounce.  I just can't deal with ponytail and cut technique.  Maybe, that's the CON of knowing and learning too much.

So anyways, I did low layers mostly when I did my own cut, so when I got the chance to go to a salon, I asked for higher layers even asked to shorten my bangs - like VERY SHORT.  I wasn't comfortable with this length so don't comment and tell me I am a trying hard gradeschooler --- I am just getting my money's worth guys!  LOL Php1,000.00 na pala ang haircut sa Tony and Jackey ha!  My styliest used to be on the Php500.00 range.  Iba na po!

But it was worth it!  All the dry ends were gone, my head is as light as a feather (OA) pero you get my point!  My hair was super long during the pandemic and I now appreciate a good cut!  

And yay for more hair tutorials with better layers!

I missed writing after weeks has passed.  I've been so busy preparing for some makeup training workshops plus a few event attendance.

Blowdry Like A PRO

 

For many years, I worked as a Make Up Artist but a few of you know I only do hairstyling.  I hire a partner to work with me when I do Bridal gigs but for random clients who wanted simple hairstyle, I do it by myself so I have a fair share of experience doing hair.

Ask any professional hairstylists, no matter how good you are with clients, there is a small percentage of difficulty to style your own hair.  One style I've had a super hard time and have been practicing so much through pandemic?  BLOWDRYING!

To create waves or curl, I am more comfortable using a flat iron or curling iron.  But to achieve a full volume style, blow dryer is still my bestfriend.

How?  I've finally found a way to blow dry your own hair but you need 2 things - a good Ceramic Ion brush (A brush that is used not for brushing but for curling! This brush traps heat!) and a good blow dryer. 

I find my Dyson Supersonic blow dryer perfect because it is lightweight and small!  So it is easier for me to handle this on my own without worrying about ouchie arms.
