AMW Reviews: Ansley Flash Eye Color Stick

Happy Monday AMW friends!  Can you believe it's already mid-July?  Time flew by pretty quickly and this is a reminder for everyone to please SEIZE every single day!  I used to dwell on tiny problems so much and waste time worrying about little things that doesn't even matter today!  I know there are moments I crumble and problems eat me up!  But I'm happy to say, the 80% of me already knew the secret to happiness!  It's holding each day close to your heart and treasure every moment and experience it as we can NEVER turn back time! I never forget to tell the people I love how much I appreciate them and love them though I may not be physically there.  So yes, it's easy to frown and curse the easy target --- Monday!  But before we do, let's just give ourselves a moment, think how lucky we are as we get to read blogs, to understand what we're reading (as we are lucky enough to have education), and to have friends and family who listen to our stories, laugh and cry with us through the good and bad times! :)

I know I'm being melodramatic here.  The reason for such behavior is because I was reminded of the day I lost our dearest Pudding (our Pomeranian dog), the family mourned over it but we were able to survive the sadness and on to the good part (there's always good news after a bad one!) We finally found a new baby --- Chin Chin!!!  I'm so excited to get to know our li'l baby pup!  As early as I now, I can tell she's a sweetheart!  (You can follow my Instagram "AskMeWhats" and you'll see a photo of our newly adopted puppy!)

Okay, I'm stopping myself from being a preacher and start doing what AMW is good at!  A product review for my Ansley Flash Eye Color Stick in Pure White

It's a jumbo liner pencil that can be used as eyeliner, eyeshadow base and highlighter!

Ansley says ---
Ansley New York Flash Eye Color Stick definitely gives a soft feeling and one touch eye make up expression.  It spreads smoothly, adheres well on skin and maintain lustrous, crease-free finish giving an accentuate dimension and brilliant luster to the eyes.

The waterproof eye color stick does not smudge even with water or sweat. It expresses the amazing color with once drawing. In addition, the Natural Vegetable Oil and Vitamin E are the lasting moisturizing factor.

Shades available:
  • #1 Star Gray - stylish smoky color
  • #2 Pure Pink - lovely cute pink, eye zone highlighting
  • #3 Pure White - shining color expression, eye zone and "t" zone highlighting
  • #4 Apple Green  - fresh light green color
AMW says ---
Pros
  • Very easy to use.
  • Pure White color is multi-functional.  I use these on waterline, brow bone, inner corners of the eyes and cheekbones for instant highlighting.  This product can also give your eye shadows a nice "3D" effect if used as base.
  • A nice retouching pencil that can be brought anywhere. (Even during travel)
  • Glides smoothly.
  • Pigmented.
  • No allergic reactions.
Cons
  • Need to wait for shipping.
  • Pencil type liner, sharpening is needed and since the size of this pencil is bigger than regular pencil, you would need a special sized pencil sharpener for this.
  • If you're looking for a plain matte white pencil, this isn't for you.
  • More shade choices would even be better!
  • The exterior of the pencil looks exactly like the Ansley New York Flash Lip Color Stick which may need me to open each of the cap to get the right product!  Kindly read tip below on how to make your life easier!  :)
  • If applied on waterline, the product may be gone after an hour or 2.
Overall
These jumbo color sticks reminded me so much of the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils!  These are indeed pigmented, creamy and easy to use!

Tips
  • I can use the Ansley Flash Eye Color Stick Pencil in Pure White alone all over my eyelids, very oily-lidded individuals may need to apply a primer prior to pencil application to prevent creasing.
  • If you want to create a "doll-like" eye makeup, use a white pencil on the waterline to exaggerate the size of your eyes.  If you prefer a more subtle shade, go for a beige or cream-colored pencil!  Pure Pink may work better.
  • If you own several shades including the Lip Color Stick, I strongly suggest to label the exterior of the pencil with stickers or apply a "similar nail polish shade" on the tip of the cap to avoid confusion.
  • If you have very sensitive eyes, apply the product closer to the waterline instead to the waterline itself to prevent irritations and also keep the liner last longer as it doesn't get wet as compared to applying on the waterline.
  • If you prefer to use this product on the eye area, keep the rest of your face matte.  Applying too much may make you look like a walking disco-ball!
Will I repurchase?
Not for now.  I only need a Pure White eye color stick and so far this will last me long.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone comfortable with online shopping and those who wanted a creamy pencil that's waterproof and multi-tasking.

Ansley Flash Eye Color Stick in 03 Pure White
Clearly labeled at the bottom of the pencil.

A quick swatch without base.
As you can see on photo, there's a hint of white glitter to it.
The glitter isn't as chunky and does not irritate my eyes.

Applied very close to the waterline to create larger looking eye.

If I like to create a fake 8-hour sleep, I like applying a tiny bit of the Ansley Flash Eye Color Stick in Pure White on the inner corner of the eye and blend using my fingers.

On those I used a boring matte colored eyeshadow, I brighten up the whole eye makeup by applying Pure White on the brow bone and again, blend using my fingers.

Here's how my eyes look with Ansley Flash Eye Color Stick in Pure White
applied on the brow bone, near the waterline and the inner corner of my eye.

AMW Reviews: Ansley New York Flash Lip Color Stick

Good morning Friday! :)
Remember my review on Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Color Balm?  Guess what?  I think I found its inexpensive counterpart!  I didn't plan to compare the 2 but ever since I started using the Ansley New York Flash Lip Color Stick, I can't help but be reminded of the Clinique version!

By the way, both names are long and difficult to remember!  *laughs*  :P

Ansley New York Flash Lip Color Stick says ---
Soft and quick display of a lovely cute lips!!
  • Moist and glossy lips - Hexadenceco polymer which arranges water protection screen on the lips maximizes the moist.
  • Speedy display - The pencil type lip stick draws the smooth lip line without being put in between.
  • No smudge lip color stick - High moisturizing and high shining
Color choices:

#1Banana - Lip make up base. Tiny pearl particles show the natural gloss
#2 Lovely rose - Soft feeling. Elegance rose color
#3Cherry rose - Fresh cherry bitten cute color

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Inexpensive for its quality.
  • Moisturizing.  My lips are very dry but I can apply this on its own.  This looks even better with normal lips!
  • Lasts longer than regular lipstick.
  • Has a hint of fruity scent that's not too strong.
  • Smooth texture that glides onto the lips easily.
  • Both shades of lip colors work for all skin color!
  • The Ansley New York Flash Lip Color Stick can define my lips without the harsh "outline" as created by regular lip liners.
Cons
  • Not for people who aren't into online shopping.
  • Packaging!  I have to open the cap each time or read the shade name as you can't tell the difference just by looking at the exterior.
  • Needs a big-hold pencil sharpener for this.
  • Limited shades.
Overall
Good pigmentation.  Long-lasting.  Doesn't dry out lips.  Inexpensive!

Tips
  • It would be best to blot your lips to minimize moisture prior to application to prevent the lip color from sliding off.
  • To make the lip color last longer, apply first layer all over lips and blot with a napkin, re-apply the second time and do the same.
  • You can always top this with your favorite lip color as this can act as a lip liner.  Once the lipstick fades, you still get a good base of color on your lips c/o Ansley.
  • For online shoppers, you can save up on shipping by ordering with friends.
  • If you have extremely dry lips, feel free to top the lip color with a gloss or balm.
  • Store in cool, dry place to prevent lip pencil meltdown.
  • Online shoppers?  CHECK OUT AMW COUPON CODE for 10% discount on orders!
Will I repurchase?
I won't be finishing up the lip color stick anytime soon so I don't think I need to repurchase for now, NOT unless more shades will be coming out.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who's comfortable with online shopping who likes the long-lasting effect of a lip pencil minus the dryness.

Where to purchase and how much?
At Glow and Glamour website for $6.90 (approx Php290.00) + Shipping.  Check my code given by the company below for 10% off.

AMW Reviews: Ansley New York 3D Shimmer Powder and Blusher

You have probably heard about Glow and Glamour Store from THIS Contest which was sponsored by them.  Oh, the contest isn't over yet, feel free to join and win yourself a Love Package! :)

Okay, back to Glow and Glamour Store, the online store also sells various contact lenses and of course, cosmetics!  One of the brand you can find in store is the Ansley New York Cosmetics.  I originally thought this was a US brand but guess what?  It's Made in Korea! :)

I got 2 shades---
01 Rose Blossom

02 Fairy Pink

Ansley New York 3D Shimmer Powder and Blusher says ---
  • 2 in 1 The powder as soft as a velvet and pressed dots blusher are in a box.
  • The master of 3D make up The micro pearlcontained powder will structure 3D face line.
  • Unchangeable skin surface It will keep the moist and shiny skin all day long.
Weight: 120grams

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Packaging is really nice!  Comes with loose powder and blusher!
  • The loose powder portion is sealed pretty well upon purchase.
  • Has an extra blush brush.

  • The loose powder puff feels very smooth on skin and is made of good quality.
  • The 3D Shimmer Powder gives healthy glow with a nice oil control.
  • The blusher looks very natural.  01 Rose Blossom shows really well on most skin color.
  • The 3d shimmer powder is finely milled and soft to feel and does not create white cast.
  • 3d shimmer powder can also be used on neck, arms and the rest of the body as it gives a nice healthy shimmer.
  • The blush and powder stays for almost 4-5 hours for normal or dry skin, approximately 3 hours for oily skin.
  • The company that sells this packs the product really well and I got them safe and sound.
Cons
  • The extra blush brush is nice but it has to be kept separately in a pouch or makeup bag to prevent the brush from getting dirty.
  • As a retouch powder, pressed powder is always better to prevent "mess".
  • Not locally available, have to pay extra for shipping plus wait for them to arrive.
  • 02 Fairy Pink will not show well on darker skin tone.
  • As for the loose powder, it has obvious glitters which may not be advisable for people who prefer matte-looking skin!
Overall
The Ansley New York 3D Shimmer Powder works just like that of a Laura Mercier or Shu Uemura Loose powder, definitely highly recommended.  For the Ansley New York Blusher which is also part of the package, this gives a nice "super natural" flush no matter how much you apply.
Tips
  • If you have oily skin, blot excess oil with an oil blotter first prior to retouch to prevent powder build up or patches.
  • If you like retouching with a k-brush, leave the blush brush that comes with the product and use ONE brush to retouch both blush and powder!
  • If you like using the "powder puff" that comes with the product, do not forget to wash it regularly to prevent bacteria build up.
  • If you like the "obvious" blush, apply your favorite blush shade of choice then top with Ansley Blusher as they give a nice, healthy, unexplainable glow.
  • For the blusher: Since both 01 and 02 shades will always appear natural, this is the perfect blusher/ setting powder on top of a cream blush or cheek tint!
  • Once allergic reactions occur, STOP usage immediately.
Will I repurchase?
Yes!  I may not finish up the Blusher quickly but I like using the 3D Shimmer Powder on clients.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Ladies on the go who are happy with powder and blush then zoom!

Where to purchase and how much?
At Glow and Glamour website for $18.90 (approx Php832.00) + Shipping.  Check my code given by the company for 10% off.

01 Rose Blossom

Combination of shimmer powder, peach, medium pink and gold specks
Best used by light, medium and dark skin tone
Though I do not own Guerlain Meteorites, this reminded me so much of it!

02 Fairy Pink

Combination of Shimmer powder, light pink and purple shades
Color comes off super  natural with a very natural pinkish glow

I like using my Shu Uemura Powder Brush in blush application

I picked the shade 01 Rose Blossom
