I Wonder: "What's The Best Pencil Eyeliner for You?"

Happy Friday folks!!! :)

Gosh! It's flooded around here due to heavy rain! I do hope everyone out there will be safe!!!

Weekend! I will be leaving a question I've wanted to ask for so long. I myself have used a couple of "well known" supposedly...long lasting eye pencils! But do they really work for us?? For our country's unpredictable weather?

Before I share my reviews on eye pencils next week. I want to hear you out. What's the best eye pencil you've tried? And why do you think it's your favorite?

I know a teacher of mine from the school taught me that she's never comfortable using pencil alone without the eye sealant! But I'm still keeping my fingers crossed, who knows? There's an exception out there?

AMW (Askmewhats lol) requirements:
  • no budge
  • no smudge
  • water proof
  • not overly expensive
It's not a huge requirement right? lol
So spill in yours!

I'd love to know!

Keep smilin'

Stay happy

  1. I'm not sure if there really is a no budge, no smudge, waterproof & low cost eyeliner. I do have to say that I have tried UD 24/7 and it's pretty good, still smudges & budges a little. MAC totally doesn't stay on for me. My HG is the MUFE Aqua Eyes, even tho the price is a little steep. I still think it's worth it to not look like a panda!

  2. Hey hun okay I haven't posted my review on this yet, but I am obsessed with Face Stockholm's Black Automatic Liner- it DOES NOT budge and stays all freakin' day in my waterline- I've tried MAC, MUFE, Urban Decay, etc. and this is by far my fav!

  3. huhu.i dont have an HG pencil eyeliner, all of them smudges on me and it does budges my skin.grr

  4. hey nikki

I heard UD 24/7 has no budge ,and makeup forever eye pencils are good too... but I haven't tried neither of them.. would love to get my hands on one.

hehe it's cloudy here, no rain yet.

you have a great weekend too =D

  5. I don't like MUFE at all, doesn't long lasting, flakes dropping ard my face while applying, expensive and I have sharpen the pencil after each use. Although, personally I prefer gel liner but Guerlain Kohl Pencil Liner is definitely my favorite. Cheaper than MUFE, easily to glide, long lasting, a few strokes will gives me exactly gel liner's effects. From my experiences, it stays on my skin perfectly without any problems. The best part is, it comes with it's own sharpener...

  6. My secret is Revlon Colorstay. It literally lasts me the 12 hours if not more. It's waterproof and barely smears. I always use it as a base for any eyeliner I use, whether its MAC, Urban Decay, or YSL. I've tried so many different eyeliner and Revlon Colorstay was by far the best I've ever used. And, it's only about USD$10.

  7. Elizabeth arden eyepencil :D well but it might be abit expensive :p but it's really good, imo

  8. for pencil i wanna try MUFE aqua eyes but i find it too expensive =)

    i haven't tried an eyeliner that doesn't smudge =P

  9. Silkygirl Funky Eyelight Pencils!! They're literally budgeproof on the upper lids for me... they stayed on even after showering! And the best part, they're so cheap!! :D

  10. I don't use eyeliner pencils much, but I don't think that there's anything out there that would be "budge, smudge & waterproof". Maybe I'm just pessimistic, haha.

  11. I never really used MUFE eyeliners, but I heard they're one of the best. I can't guarantee on that... hehe~ I do have some UD eyeliners. The colors are gorgeous but they don't stay on my waterline that long. I would say if I'm lucky, I can see it for 10 minutes... lol~ :X

How come you didn't buy the MUFE foundation? They're pretty good! :)

  12. I'm currently using the Prestige WP liners and they're supposed to be UD 24/7 quality. I only have one UD 24/7 (Stash) and while I do like it and find it glides better, I have to say the Prestige WP one in Granite is the only one that doesn't run on me. All the other Prestige WP liners & Stash run at the outer corner of my eye ~4-5 hrs in. Haven't tried the MUFE ones yet though - can't wait to see your reviews :D

  13. cleung341, I would say you are right, quite difficult to find that kind of pencil that stays on for long!!!! I am currently using MUFE, UD 24/7 so I can see the difference and do a review soon :)

Whit, Face stockholm's? WOW Never heard of the brand, but WOW!!! Even better than those famous eyeliners you've tried? Why isn't it available EVERYWHERE???

CamRenRai16(SHOBE), I know what you mean!

  14. purple snowflake, yeah, UD 24/7 has a lot of raves, but it doesnt' work on me!

Syn@3sTh3sI@, oohh now I am starting to love these comments, different people do have different experiences with pencil liners! I do prefer gel liner too but on those days I'm too lazy to gel line my eyes, I go for pencils!

Anonymous , revlon, I haven't tried their eyeliners! thanks for the suggestion! I'll keep that in mind and see if we have it down here!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hana aka acutelife , hmm, I've only been looking at skincare from Elizabeth Arden, let me check out their makeup line! :) thanks for the suggestions!

Khymm, yes, MUFE is quite pricey and it's always out of stock! LOL

Jenn, that is sad, Silky girl isn't available down here, I'll definitely put it on my "to buy" list if I visit KL

    ReplyDelete
  16. Arezu, hahah you're not pessimistic! i know why you're getting there, you've probably tried a couple that fails!

Ahleessa , UD liners smudges like crazy on me too!!!! I didn't buy the MUFE foundation because I thought I have enough! LOL But there's never enough foundation!!! ahahaha

Catherine, yes, that's what I love about UD and MUFE, they glide like heaven! Will do a review on MUFE soon!

  17. Wow, if you do find such a wonderful pencil eyeliner, please let me know!

I use the Revlon Colorstay Liquid - and I agree, they don't come off. It was well worth the effort of learning how to use liquid liners. The Colorstay pencil works for me for my top lashes, but not for my bottom lashes. I really want something that works on my lower waterline!

  18. I swear by Ever Bilena Eye Liner Pencil. It's only 60php+. Been using this for 5 years already.

I think all eyeliners smudge because of the wax quality of it. Ever Bilena smudges but juuuusssst a little. :D That's why I've been using this for 5 years already. It's cheap, economical and pigment pay- off is great. I have reviewed my EB eyeliner pencils. It's great for eyebrow shaping and filling. You can check it in my blog.

If you want REALLY waterproof eyeliners, try Chanel.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Try PRESTIGE (the retractable ones) available locally at beauty bar! I swear by it! Get the waterproof smudge proof ones. We did a swatch test among MUFE, Stilla, MAC and prestige...Prestige won!! Its 314 pesos..really cheap eh..:)

  20. For me its the Guerlain Kohl pencil but that fails in terms of price :) I must agree with the waterproof Prestige pencils - they are seriously awesome. The Silkygirl Funky Eyelights pencils are pretty good too but I'm not sure if you get them there. That said they are bright and metallic so aren't quite everyday pencils. I say... splurge on the Guerlain LOL...

  21. My favourite liner pencils are Soft Eye Liner waterproof and Magic Eye Liner by ARTDECO. They do smudge a little on my eternally teary eyes and greasy lids, but still last for about 6 hours before that. I think the brand is only available in Europe, though, which is a shame as these liners are seriously awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  22. If you want something that withstands South Asian Monsoon Season, I recommend Lancome Le Stylo Waterproof eye pencil. You don't have to sharpen it either!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I like Youngblood and Revlon colorstay pencil liners coz they don't smudge that much even if without base..but if you want something that doesn't smudge at all even if you rub it with water, go for Revlon Colorstay liquid liner..I swatched it on the back of my hand the other day and tried removing it with rubbing and washing my hands but it did not budge! I'm definitely going abck to Trinoma to get myself that liner haha it's only P500+ :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't have a HG pencil as I don't use eyeliners that much. Usually I just use the pencil that's included in most Pupa palettes, which is quite good.

    can't wait for your reviews!

    ReplyDelete
  25. i hardly use pencil eyeliner anymore, only for my waterline when i wear fake lashes but i would love to know which one(s) you find the best of the best!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love MAC's fluidline. Easy to apply and smudgeproof!

    ReplyDelete
  27. K , oh girl! I wish I can say EUREKA! Found the one! LOL All I can do is review the current pencils I have, no promises :)

THE BEAUTY JUNKEE, yes, I remembered using ever bilena eyeliners too! they are nice but it doesn't last long on the waterline! I guess its just my watery eyes? Lol

ria redor , Prestige, I've read about their great liquid liners, so their pencils too huh? Thanks for the reco! :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. PB, Guerlain!!!! LOL I have a feeling it's going to be pricey! But if its really long lasting both on upper lashline and waterline, why not?

Amira G., that is great to know!! thanks for the reco! We do have Art Deco down here!

JC, Lancome Stylo Waterproof gotta check if we have them down here, thanks! I've noted it down!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Crystal Gale, well I know a lot of liquid liners that really stays true..but I am looking for pencils especially for the waterline!!! Thanks for the reco sis!

Gio,, :) lucky you! I guess in most days I am a gel liner user but there are days I just want naturally looking penciled eyes :)

Jo, hahahaha I wish I could find the best!

Amanda K, thanks!for gel liners, I go for Stila, that's the best for me :) Any ideas on pencil liners?

    ReplyDelete
  30. For me there is like "none" pencils eyeliner either doesn't go on or they smudge like crazy...

Black inky gel/liquid liner ones looks harsh on my lids, other colors sorta disappear whenever I open my eyes.

power looks like but they all smudge (I have teary eyes)..Anyway, i gave up all of them already...

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have the MUFE Aqua eyeliners and although nice, they do smudge on me a bit when used on the lower lids.

I've also tried Sephora brand eyeliners and they are just as good as MUFE Aqua eyeliners but again, they smudge a tad bit on me.

The only ones that stay true and smudgeproof on me are the Jane Be Pure Aguaceuticals jumbo eyeliner pencils. These are great! Not only do they not smudge on me on the lower lids but they are so affordable. I bought these at around 3 USD.

  32. Mine would be from a Canadian Brand, Annabelle. Their Smoothliners are so soft so you don't have to apply too much pressure just to get a line. They last all day (I'm a contacts user) and don't smudge.

    ReplyDelete
  33. UD 24/7 hands-down, Zero is my absolute fave. I also like Victoria Secret's kohl liners. No budge/smudge and glide like buttah. :) MAC Pearlglides are great as well, but you can't use them on your waterline because of the tiny glitters.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love the UD 24/7 and got both sets!

    ReplyDelete
  35. i don't have much pencil liners. the UD 24/7 metallic ones don't budge or smudge for me but the zero (black) smudges within minutes :(

    ReplyDelete
  36. Citrine , I am still hopefull with pencils! :) Thanks for your thoughts girl!

LT, same with me! the MUFE smudges on the waterline but stays like tattoo on the upper lashline! JANE! it lasts? tsk tsk tsk too bad, we don't have it here, and I think there's a reason why they're not here, probably won't work well on our weather :)

cherz ...master, creamy liner that doesn't smudge? that is what I'm looking for!

    ReplyDelete
  37. The Shades Of U , too bad UDPP doesn't work well on our shores! I've used it, will review it soon!

Mrs.Zeus , I got only one set, the more toned down one :)

Crystal, it smudges on me too like I told you when we met :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. So far the Gosh Velvet Touch liners are the best pencil liners I've tried that still glide on easily. UD and MUFE both smudged on me. Bonnebell (a cheap d/s brand here) stays on ok but the texture is harder to apply.

    ReplyDelete
  39. ' * : . b | u 3 . : * ', really? GOSH Velvet Touch? Hmm I am thinking at the back of my head if we have it down here, I may take a look! thanks!

  40. I like Rimmel's soft kajal pencil. Good stuff :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. i've been looking 4 a liner 4 my waterline as well, n i just found it!it's revlon colorstay eyeliner. not the liquid one, but the retractable one w/ a build in sharpener on the back. i usually only wear liner on my upper water line, but i hate how most other liners would smudge n transfer on my bottom waterline, but this one doesn't, n by the end of the day, i'd say it's still over 95% there! i've heard so many ppl raving about it 4 a very long time, n now i'm one of em'

    ReplyDelete
  42. Shu Uemura drawing pencil is the best for me, very pigmented, it doesn't tug and it's already been with me for almost four years still it doesn't crumble, you just have to sharpen it for a new layer to come out. it stays long on my oily lids and waterline, i dont wear primers. When I rub it, i have to rub it until my skin turns red before I could even experience smudging, but it is easily removed by l'oreal lip and eye make up remover.

my max factor, the body shop and prestige eyeliners crumbled already but this one is still standing. ^.^

    ReplyDelete
  43. Tine, oohh no rimmel down here, but lucky you to have found great stuff! :)

J, revlon colorstsay eyeliner, now that's something I'd love to try, thanks for the tip :)

Chelle, thanks for the tip, wow! you have to rub your eyes so much to experience smudging ha? That's great, how about the waterline, does it stay? Thanks :)

  44. My favorite pencil eyeliners are MAC powerpoints and pearlglides, (LE), UD 24/7.

But recently L'oreal released some eyeliners similar to MAC powerpoints, UD 24/7. I'm testing it out, but so far I like it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Evie, thanks for sharing your favorite eyeliners...L'oreal new eyeliner? I would love to check it out :) thanks

    ReplyDelete
  46. @Nikki

hey sorry it too this long to reply :)) I rubbed it on my hand where I tested it before in a Shu Uemura counter in Rustan's, I'm really afraid to rub my eyes coz it would give me more eye wrinkles :))

the ME blue and ME pink formula stays on my waterline, I tried the ulzzang look with the two, that day was really really hot but the eyeliners didn't melt away. my ME purple though doesn't have such a great staying power on the waterline though.

    hope that helps! =)

    ReplyDelete
  47. thanks Chelle for the further information! that's very helpful :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. The name of the L'oreal eyeliner is extra -intense liquid pencil eyeliner.

It comes in Gray, black, green, purple.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Evie, I have to check local L'oreal counters then and see if they have the pencils you're talking about , thank you!

  50. Dude.. revlon eye pencil..i swear by it or otherwise benefit eye liner its totally fantastic and if you can get it there is "shahnaz hussain" eye liner..the thing never comes off!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Helllllllo. I'm all Urban Decay, all the time. Except for my foundation I use Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse, works just as good as Smashbox or Mac, I do however use Mac concealer and Smashbox Primer.
ANYWAY UD 24/7 Glide on eyeliner pencils work. Always and forevver.
    It's my love.

    ReplyDelete
  52. do you have the result? which eyeliner won?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Revlon! I got to try it :) Thanks

Rhonie Dee, thanks for your suggestions. I think UD24/7 cannot hold on warm weather down here.

Anonymous, I guess different individuals have different eyeliner brands that works. I for instance, the only eyeliner pencil that works..is...NONE...I have to always top it with an eyeliner sealant and it'll stay no matter what brand of eyeliner I use :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. My vote goes to Silkygirl's Funky Eyelights Pencil. Good and affordable...(^^)v
