I Wonder: What's Your Current Makeup Look?

Comes 2019, my overall makeup style and look suddenly made a huge U-turn!  For someone who can't survive without eyeliner - I find myself skipping this and all my liquid liners are turning dry now!  That's not it, my brows aren't as perfect and I actually like 'em bushy and very natural!

I don't know about you, but I saw the huge change!  Don't get me wrong, I still prettify myself the Nikki-way whenever I go out for special events, hosting jobs etc... but on most days you see me looking like this as my default makeup look!

I also find myself picking on coral, peach or orange eyeshadow more than browns!  It must be the quest for youthful look!  Well sharing this observation of mine because as time goes on I'm sure my makeup look will change once again!

Now this got me interested, what's your current makeup style or look?
I'd love to see a photo of you or read your comments!

I Wonder: How Do You Relax?

I always answer: "When my son is asleep, one hand holding an iPad watching my favorite films and a cup of coffee or a glass of milk on the other hand."

And yet, I always feel sluggish.

When my dear brother bought me a Muji Large Aroma Diffuser, we set it in our living room to keep that area fresh and smells great whenever we have visitors coming in!  Okay, the living room turned out to be Toddler AMW's "playground" and most of the time, visitors do not get to sit anymore...well at least, the house smells great so they'll forgive us on not letting them sit!  hahaha

As much as I want to have the whole house smelling clean and fresh or yummy, I can't move the Large Aroma Diffuser around so I am still on the hunt for an inexpensive aroma diffuser.  Scented candles weren't an option because I'm not a candle-person!  Not until I found the brand Heart & Home.  I finally have choice and the scented candles do not smell like candles with a scent, instead, it smells delicious I almost forget we are using candles!

Heart & Home comes with huge selection of fragrance-rich candles, wax melts and votives have been produced to fill our homes with scents depending on our preference and mood.  I believe the company have worked alongside with leading perfumers to build unique scents that is said to help "turn on that lightbulb moment" in our brains!

True enough, aside from feeling more relaxed, on days, I get to have more ideas on what I want to do with my blog whenever I'm relaxing with soft music and my favorite scent!  I'll share my favorites later on!

Heart & Home Country Kitchen
Php995.00 (approx $23.00)
Upto 70 hours burn time
L-R French Vanilla, Sweet Black Cherries, Mediterranean Fig and Welcome Home

As much as you and I would like to go "in shock" for the price, I actually find these to be more inexpensive as compared to using fragrance-oil!  This huge candle goes a long way!  After a month's usage, I still haven't finish 1/4 of the candle and I'm actually looking forward to finish 1 to try on the next one!

I Wonder: Can You Apply Make Up Inside a Moving Car?

And...before I get any gasp, I have to clarify that you are NOT the driver!  If you are, maybe you can still answer, maybe, in between traffic?

I've been both..the driver and the passenger, all I can say is that I NEVER apply make up when i'm the driver, whether in between traffic or during red stoplight...I never will!  I value my life too much!

Now, as a passenger, that is a different story!  YES, so many times!

Especially now that I'm a mom!  You know how hard it is if your toddler screams whenever you leave home?  Well, what I do is that I spend at least an hour, playing with him, giving them all the attention before I leave home!  That means, a lot of playing, kissing, nose to nose, and skin rubbing!  So I make sure to be make-up free during those crucial times!  But how do I get to prepare myself (aka my face) when I had to go to an important event?  Well, bring out the make up and apply them inside the car!  Only on days I get to hitch a ride with someone (my dad, Uber, etc...)

Now on to the make up...I can usually do simple make up looks to make me look decent.  What I can do inside a moving car ---

I Wonder: Do You Turn Your Eyeshadow Into a Blush or Vice Versa?

I Do!
And it is from an inexpensive brand Fanny Serrano Php150.00 and it is actually a single eyeshadow!

I Wonder: What is your To-Go-To Neutral palette? (Local Brands)

I am a neutral girl, you obviously know that by now if you are a long-time reader of AskMeWhats!  And I have my favorite palette I usually reach out for when I go to events, parties or simply, when I want to make myself look presentable!

And these palettes are home-grown!

I Wonder: Are You A Body Wash or Soap Gal?

I used to raise one eyebrow up (or shall I say, Tried to raise one eyebrow up) when my friends tell me they are Body Wash users, I mean...seriously... SOSYAL MO!

But when I turned into a Blogger who does a lot of product reviews, I can't help but go to that route, that "evil" and sosyal na Body Wash route!  And guess what?  Once I did, well, I do look back to soaps still but wow!  My bathing experience is really amazing when I use body wash!  Let me tell you why....
  • My very dry skin loves the extra moisture most body washes give.
  • They really smell good and can seriously turn any mood to #GOOD !
  • Scent stays longer than most soaps.
  • Did I mention I feel really good?
One beauty product that I easily "hit the pan", I would say, are body washes!  I finish one up in less than a month and I am actually looking forward to try other brands!

Recently, I got a package from my Sampleroom family to try out the new Olay Body Washes!  I've treid Olay soaps and they are surprisingly hydrating (considering they are soaps) so even if I have a couple of body washes inside my bathroom, I can't help but give one tube a try! (spell #ATAT)

I Wonder: Which Philosophy Product/s Do You Love?

Philosophy has been around for quite some time but I was too busy using my well-loved brands/products that I kinda missed giving this brand a chance!  So when I received a cute floral box over the holidays with "What Do You Love" card that greeted me, I literally sat down, stared at the box (photographed below) unmoved....

What do I really Love?
Thankfully, I am blessed with good friends and family who showered me with love!  I am definitely one lucky girl (thank God) to have received all the love from family, friends and even people whom I haven't met in person (YOU!)  From there, I am able to give out LOVE without expecting anything in return.

As I browse through the personalized card (Great Job Philosophy team and the agency for researching well), it was a "spot on" card that features "What I Love" --- my husband, my son and my Blogger friends.

And that, came from a stranger who just browsed through my Facebook profile, probably my Blog site or Instagram --- they were able to come up with a conclusion on "Who I Love" and that got me thinking, if you love something/someone...it will really shine through as clear as a glass!  So why hide it?  Tell the world "What Do You Love" and "What Matters to you"  Life is too short to always play "safe" and keep secrets! :)

Ayan na naman ako sa mala-Advice blog na to! :)  Now going back to the brand, I am so happy to receive the top 3 brands that I actually want to try!

I Wonder: Do You Ever Sleep with Your Make Up On?

I am PROUD to say...NEVER!
You?  *aminin*!
Well, don't worry, I'm not going to say I'm a little perfect Blogger who consistently care for my skin.  I have a dirty little secret too you know!

#NOMAKEUP

Since becoming a mom, yes, I never sleep with makeup on but you know what?  Recently, I'm always in a hurry in removing my makeup.  Imagine this scenario, I came home late, I missed my son so much and he obviously missed me so much as well, I ran straight to my room, change into comfortable clothes, wash my face quickly with water...yes, you read that right, just water because I'm in a hurry to spend quality time with my little one before he dozes off on me!

My husband would say: "May eyeliner ka pa, andun pa lipstick mo!"  And I just shrug him off!  And when the little angel is finally asleep, I am too tired to really think about myself and I doze off with him....story of my "Beauty addict life turned momma!"

On nights I really felt tired, on nights I really just want a good night sleep...I reach on my favorite wipes (I've been vocal about this favorite wipes on my previous post HERE)

You know what it's my favorite?  Seldom can I find wipes that works for my combination (Dry/Normal) and sensitive skin!  Then recently, I got a care package from our friends from Nivea to try their wipes!  I have read positive reviews on these wipes so I am very excited to try these!

AMW Wears: AIOnline Shop AU165 Top x 3

As you all know by now, Online Shopping is my best friend!  Yes, I go out every once in awhile but I'm always in a hurry to get back home!  (I miss Baby AMW that much!)

So shopping definitely isn't on my top priority as of the moment (siguro pag teenager na si Kyle lol)  so I opt for online shopping especially when Kyle is asleep!  hahaha

I had a good first-time shopping experience at AI Online Shop and I blogged about them HERE.  Once in awhile, I take a peek and see if they have new collections coming up as their price range are SUPER AFFORDABLE!  Almost the same or even better as Divisoria (minus the crazy crowd).

Here re my picks and check this out, 9 pieces of clothing for less than Php2,500.00!  Aminin niyo, ang galing ko no? :D

Take a closer look and see the numbered tops!  They are in 3 different colors but they look the same right?  Well, because for the first time, I got the exact same blouse design in 3 different shades because I just can't get enough!

I love loose chiffon blouses!  I can easily move around and I don't have to worry about "sucking in" the pregnancy fats!  So here are the 3 similar tops in different shades as worn on different events.

I Wonder: Will You Splurge on Lipsticks?

Good Monday morning AMW Friends!
I have a quick question on top of my head that I would like to hear your thoughts!  I recently got a Guerlain Lipstick from an event I attended and it was actually sitting on my table dresser for quite sometime before I decided to use it (for the sake of sharing my thoughts).  It pains me when I started applying it on my lips because I want to keep it forever!

A bit of background about me, don't get me wrong, I don't mind splurging on foundation, eyeliners, brow products, etc...but I am "okay" with inexpensive lipsticks as long as they don't dry out my lips!  I actually have all the "mid-range" to "pricey" lippies inside my makeup traincase and leave the inexpensive ones behind for me to use!  Low maintenance itech!  :P

Before this goes straight to my traincase, I've decided to try this out and see what the fuss is all about.

Priced locally at Php2,500.00

Silver bullet packaging
Quite heavy as compared to other lipsticks I own.

I Wonder: Which Cover Girl Mascara Do You Like Most?

Okay, I maybe an Energizer Bunny but when it comes to mascaras, I'm one hell of a "cute" turtle!  :P

Blame me for watching too much BabyTV!  I have nothing more to watch but Elephants, Monkeys, Rabbits, Turtles, etc...!

So yeah, I'm such a turtle so I need help!  I was sent 4 wonderful Cover Girl Mascaras a month ago and I can't decide which one to use first!

In case you wonder, here are the 4 variants ---
L-R LashBlast Volume, Clump Crusher, LashBlast Fusion and LashBlast Length

Obviously LashBlast Volume is meant to be used if you prefer to create more volume for your thin and sparse lashes (me!)  I realized I used this mascara so many times in my old FOTDs and Makeup tutorials I didn't even create a decent review!

I Wonder: How Connected Are You?

Since I recently talked about my first ever Blog Stint as a Vaseline Girl 4 years ago, let me talk about technology back then and how I wish I was THIS connected those times.

We went for a week long Roadtrip at Laoag, Vigan and Baguio and my phone wasn't internet ready back then...heck!  I was using a Nokia phone!  All we have with us is a laptop and a Smart Bro Prepaid Internet.

It was difficult as we were quite blind on what's happening with our subscription package or account information.  After seeing this commercial, I went..heck!  This should be available 4 years ago, but again, I don't have hi-tech phone back then so all I can say is..lucky you today!

If you are a Smart Bro Prepaid subscriber, visit this link to access your Dashboard http://smrt.ph/brodashboard-askmewhats

And here's what I want to know,
How connected are you today as compared to (say) 5 years ago?

Me, I literally have my phones, ipad, laptop all connected so I'm online 24/7!  Looking back, I can't believe how simple my life was but thinking about it, I may be busier than 5 years ago but I'm happy to be connected to my brother and friends who are overseas via Viber or WhatsAPP!

A Friendly Reminder: Visit Your Dentist TODAY!

I recently got back from a dentist appointment and I almost didn't hear the end of it!  For the first time after many years, I was scolded!  For not taking care of my teeth by going to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned at least once every 3-6 months.  I deserve all the things she told me as it has been more than a year (okay, almost 2 years) that I didn't visit her!  I have so many excuse like I was busy breastfeeding, taking care of my baby, etc...

But one thing she said that hit me and I think deserves a blog post!  She said I MAY have Bad Breathe if I continue to ignore my teeth!  I tried to give an excuse by telling her I brush my teeth after EVERY meal, I use mouthwash and floss!  She said it's NOT enough!  And I got to read this article! *laughs*

I Wonder: Do You Splurge for your Baby's Shoes?

Hi fellow mommies!
How are you?  I have this question that has been bugging me for months!  Well, I'm one of those "practical" moms who know when to splurge or save!  I guess I got that from my mom and dad who did an amazing job raising all 4 of us!  A lot of you may think Baby AMW is spoiled because he's my only child.  As surprising as it may sound, you're wrong!  I guess I grew up with a strict mom and dad who made me learn the value of money at an early age and I want to instill that on my son!

Do you agree?

So back to my I Wonder topic!  Mr. AMW and I are quite lucky to have friends and family who were so nice to give us hand-me-downs on clothes, toys and shoes!  I don't mind splurging a bit on clothing especially when he needs to attend a party especially HIS own party!  *laughs*  but when it comes to shoes, I used to be a firm believer of "NOT SPLURGING" on shoes as everyone knows how fast they outgrown their shoes!

I Wonder: How Adventurous Are You? (Hair Edition)

Hi everyone!  It is a gorgeous Thursday today!  The day keeps getting busier each day, though tired, I am loving every moment of 2014!  There are just so many happenings the first quarter of the year so I can't wait for the next!

Today, I have a question I've been meaning to ask you for quite some time!  I took time because I need to find photos just to prove a point!  *laughs*  Okay, it wasn't easy for me to find old digital photos of myself as I realized I'm a "Kodak" girl!  "Kodakan" days using "Kodak" films *hahaha*

Let's talk about hair!  Though my hair really isn't my "crowning glory" as it isn't the hair shampoo commercial type.  I still love them dearly and I make sure to take care of them!  I have spent a lot on hair products and God knows the sacrifices I've done just to save money to purchase hair styling products!

What's my signature cut?  Ask anyone from my "school" days and they would say: "Short with bangs".  No wonder I'm called "The Bangs Girl".

Okay, I can't seem to find my grade school photos but my hair technically looks the same as the photos below!  *laughs*

First photo upper left, I had bangs, I just clipped it because I was just experimenting, and the end part?  My bangs won! :P

After my "studious" days, I guess I got tired of the "above the shoulder" or shoulder-length hair so when I started working, I've decided to grow my hair long (thanks to Rebonding service) and went for serious layers!  For years, I had my hair either long or a bit below the shoulder!  I bid full bangs goodbye and sported side fringe!  I did play around with hair colors as well, yet I never went for wild hair color!  In these years, I also enjoy styling my hair and experimented on curls (with the use of flat and curling irons).

I Wonder: Korean or Japanese Makeup?

Yay!  My favorite month is FINALLY here!  I don't know why I'm even excited!  I'm turning 35 this year!  *gasp*  Seriously, I don't feel 35 and I definitely do not act like my age!!!

Today, I'm heading to Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria for a weekend stay as it is a yearly thing with my family for a bonding period during the Chinese New Year!  We also have this mandatory family photo taking and it was fun seeing how we changed through the years!  Ooohh, last year I was 5 months pregnant and my family gave me a surprise Baby Shower party!  This year, I have a hyper-active Baby AMW and I love the addition to the AMW family!

Seriously, I can go on and on about my life but I am stopping HERE as I don't want you to get bored!  Since I express milk 3-4 times a day, the ever hyper mommy (me!) dislike the idle time so I like to watch Youtube videos while I express milk!  That's when I start to see different makeup looks from Japanese to Korean style.  As always, inspiration struck so I thought of posting about this to get your votes!

Do you like Japanese or Korean style makeup?

I Wonder: What's Your Current Hobby?

Happy Wednesday!  Aren't you glad you can literally sniff weekend?  I can't wait for this weekend as it is my mom and dad's wedding anniversary plus we're probably off to Divisoria again to shop for Baby Kyle's First Birthday Party contest prizes!  Last weekend, we bought A LOT of cool prizes for kids (even I wanted them all) and after doing a bit of inventory, we realized we needed more!  So there's more reason for us to go back to crazy-shopping-land! :D

Since I've seen a lot of cute and really nice stuff at Divisoria, I realized I want to know more about my readers!  I mean, it's always about me and my day and my beauty products!  For now, let me sit back, relax and read about YOU!  I want to know what is your current hobby aside from makeup collecting of course! :)

As for me, I'll share a quick one!  I recently got Washi Tapes from Washi Works and to be honest, I thought it was not something I would be interested in as I am seriously a boring girl with not much creative juice!  But as soon as I got these 4 tapes, I immediately got a "light bulb" *TING* moment and played with them right away!

So you're right, I "washi-fied" so many of my random stuff and my next target?  Makeup Palettes!  Even before Washi Tapes, I have this liking to "personalize" my palettes just like the one I did with my Elianto Palette (Post HERE

I Wonder:What's Your Favorite Brand of Feminine Wash?

Oohh, such a topic on a Monday huh?
But let's face it, it may not be the topic we want to write about but definitely a topic we would like to talk about!  I have always been a feminine wash user, I'm talking about years....long before organic feminine washes are in the market, I am one of the many "commercially made" feminine wash users and I've used probably almost all the brands available locally.

Let's face it, using regular soap to wash our genital area won't make the cut, why?  Aside from stripping off the external protective barrier in that area, using scented  soap and body wash may cause certain genital infections *ouch*  (feel na feel ba? lol) especially with our weather condition where bacteria can easily rear its super ugly head!

After I gave birth, the pH balance down there definitely changed (of course I won't discuss more!  lol), most of my favorite feminine washes that I used to love just doesn't feel as effective as it was pre-pregnancy!  Luckily, I recently discovered the brand Sebamed, well not really a discovery as I knew about this brand way back but didn't know it was locally available.  I was told it has been around for a decade, don't ask me why I haven't seen them before!  *laughs*

I have used Sebamed Feminine Intimate wash for a month now and this one is for users who have sensitive skin.

I Wonder: What's Your To-Go-To Palette?

Happy Tuesday AMW Friends!
Today's I Wonder Post, I wish most of you would comment back to share me your answer as I'm super intrigued to know "What's Your To-Go-To Palette?"

The reason why I asked is because over the weekend, I had the chance to fix my professional kit as I'm on for a busy November and December (yes, back to work baby!).  As I looked into my professional kit, I realized, there are so many makeup products that I personally love that I gave up because I'd rather give the best for clients!

As I went back to fix my personal kit, I saw a palette I reach out for the most when I needed to prettify myself!  And it is not bigger than the palm of my hand!

I Wonder: Organic Soaps?

Happy Thursday dear readers!  Thank you for always checking www.askmewhats.com!  I know some of you have been long time readers and I just want to extend my gratitude by sending you all *group cyber hug*!!!  Thank you for the lovely emails, comments and kind words!  It meant the world to me!

Upon reading this post, most of you are probably at work, getting ready for work or is off to bed, whatever you are doing at the moment, I'm sure in some way or another, you've already taken a shower.  I have a feeling some of you are starting to raise your arms and start sniffing your armpit! :P  Come on, admit it!  If not...well, I guess I'm the only one doing it? :P

Since we're on the topic of shower, let's talk about the soaps we use!  To be honest, I've always been into commercialized soaps!  I've always read positive reviews and good benefits on using organic or soaps made with natural ingredients but I don't know why it doesn't hit the spot on me!  I guess it's the fact that most organic soaps do not lather up as much?  Or they finish up so fast?  So yes, those are some small things that made me steer clear from purchasing them amidst the benefits of using one!

Thanks to Sample Room, I was able to give these organic/natural soaps a try and I think I'm starting to be converted!  Here are some of the organic soaps I get to try and will try!  I'm sure some of the brands are familiar to Organic soap Lovers out there! :D
