AMW Reviews: OPI RapiDry Top Coat

** I used a photo from a site as I own this in mini version

Happy Friday friends! Anyone who reads my blog knew how much I love nail products!  Though I do my nails almost every week, I am not a fan of expensive polishes because I know I can always invest on good top coat to protect my nail polish or nail art.

OPI is a brand that's known for nail addicts out there!  I'm glad I've got the chance to test the mini version of this prior to purchasing a full size.

OPI RapiDry Top Coat says ---

This quick drying OPI RapiDry Top Coat protects your nails against yellowing, smearing, smudges and streaks.  It gives a perfect finish and ensures that your nail varnish will last.  OPI RapiDry Top Coat has an Extended Wear Technology that helps dry your wet nails quicker for a long lasting, high gloss shine.

Size: 15ml

  • gives out a shiny finish
  • dries the polish quickly, really!
  • my nail polish lasts more than 5 days without chipping
  • nail polish remain shiny and new even after a couple of days as compared to other brands
  • aside from working as a top coat, its also a rapid dry polish which works great! 2-in-1 product!
  • non-oily
  • brush is great
  • the polish is not too thick or wet, just the right consistency
  • pricey
  • its not RAPID as what the name implies, you still have to wait a couple of minutes to make sure its dry
I have been using The Face Shop's Top Coat for the longest time, I am quite loyal with it as I've finish 3 bottles of it.  When I got this mini from a set that I received as a gift from my bestie, I gave it a try right away thinking it's just a Top Coat with an added gimmick of rapid dry factor.  I was quite amazed with how my nail polish dried faster than regular and the added positive factor?  My pinkie nails usually chip on the 4th day due to my crazy typing capability *hahaha* and some parts of my nails do start to fade because I do house chores too!    My nail art and nail polish remain intact and I am starting to like this!!!

If I don't want to pay expensive amount for a top coat and quick dry polish, I can always go back to my first love.

  • to apply, begin at the center of your nail then fan it out gently.
  • wait for a minute or two after your final coat before applying this top coat.
  • wait for more than 5 minutes before you start moving like your nail polishes are dry.  Though this is quick dry, I strongly suggest to dry your nails with a fan or blow dryer.
  • if you're unsure if this works for you or not, try to purchase a "set" or "mini sizes" to see if you'll like it or not
Will I repurchase?

Where to purchase and how much?
Locally at Rustan's Essences for Php495.00 (approx $10.76)

I finished this nail art last Saturday over the weekend
On the fifth day, here's how it looks

My pinkie nail
On the 4th or 5th day, the polish usually chips, around half of the nail
take a look, there's just a bit of fading but not much :)

Definitely a nice buy if you have the budget.
Have you used this similar Top Coat and Rapid Dry in one?
I'd love to know how you love or hate this.

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

  1. nice! I LOVE your nail designs! I have definately been thinking about getting a quick dry thing (like the OPI drip drys) because my nail polish always gets these wrinkles in it from when I sleep

  2. I have the faceshop top coat too and so far it's ok for me. OPI kase is too pricey :)

  3. Thanks for letting us know about this product, Nikki! I know a few places that sell OPI products, but the collection is very limited here.

I'll have a look at this product, next time! ;)

  4. too bad its too pricey for me
im even reluctant to try sally hansen's double duty :P
    owh and nice nail art!!

  5. been seeing this for so many times but cnt bring myself to buy it. but sometimes i think a quick dry is really important especially when i am in a hurry!

  6. OMG! I think $10 it's too expencive for just a top coat :(

  7. Much as I liked The Face Shop Base coat/topcoat, they made my nails yellow! That's why I prefer OPI or Poshe or other brands.

  8. fab nails sis! and good review. although am loyal to Poshe and Seche Vite hehe. hope you're getting some rest, don't overwork yourself! you deserve some time out, you hardworker you. ;)

  9. Thanks so much for reviewing this sweetie. Now I'm SO TEMPTED!

  10. Thanks for the review. I don't like to spend a lot for nail products but this sounds like it's worth it if it works so well! I'm very tempted to try it now.

  11. Y, ohh I hate sleeping and waking up with ugly polish! :)

Lanie, yes, too pricey, I alternate it with the Face shop's Top Coat.

Jess, let me know if you found it and used it :) I'd love to read your review!

  12. LyNn, Sally Hansen works good too :) But this one is really great! :)

Xin, but its worth it :) especially if its a gift! hahaha

Anastacia, yes, it is pricey! and its easy to use up! :)

  13. Nikkiz, really ? sorry your nails turned yellow!

MereMakeupManiac , thank you sweetie for the kind words *hugs too*

    Kahani, you're welcome :)

Gio, yes, this works, I'm glad it works, it is very pricey! if it doesn't, i'll be very mad!

  14. This product is on my "to try" list, I have not gotten to it yet though. Quick dry top coats I have tried are Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat(love it for quick dry, but it's not very good for protecting from chips/fading), INM Out The Door (better for chip/fade protection but not very good at drying the polish quickly) and Orly In A Snap (which I hate, doesn't do much for drying polish quickly OR for protecting from chips/fading.) I'm still working on finishing up the Orly - I refuse to just toss it because it was so expensive, so I use it even though it's not great. I have a couple others on my list of things to try, but based on your review the OPI just might be the one I'm looking for. Still going to try the others too though, cause I'm weird like that. lol =) Thanks for the great review!

  15. ang ganda ng nail art mo! anyway, quite expensive but looks like it's worth it naman.

  16. Red, let me know if you finally used this and I'd love to know your thoughts :)

Crystal, I know what you mean, that's why I don't own a lot of nail polish from those expensive brands :)

  17. Those are really cute. Nice paint job! :)

  18. i havent try this OPI rapid dry but I have OPI start to finish base-topcoat!! OPI polish are long wearing my fave top coat is seche vite Im just lucky for I purchased my seche vite top coat locally in Abu Dhabi and so ng bumalik nako dito sa pinas I bought 8 pieces of it...LOL!! the top coat is around 455 pesos but its worth it.. mas mura ung seche in US theyre just around 5-7$ i think! NIkki I hope u visit my blog sometime..
