Aside from skincare and cosmetics, I am very keen to use the best hair care products for my chemically-treated and super damaged hair. My hair has gone through so much stress lately! Let's not even count the times I've discovered the happiness of curling my own hair with curling irons!
I've seen L'Oreal Elseve products widely available locally. It took me some time to muster the courage to give this a try as I've had bad experience with the L'Oreal Elvive line. After more than a month of usage, here's what I have to say...
L'Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense says ---
Expert care for dry, frizzy and rebellious hair.4x smoother, sleeker hair.
2 Precious Ingredients: Nutrileum + Silk Protein
For the first time, from the L'Oreal Laboratories, they have combined its patented ingredients Nutrileum, a combination of a nutritive micro-oil and a smoothing agent, with Silk Protein, known for its smoothness and thermo-resistance, to deliver a double action.
1. Intense nutrition: the creamy formula nourishes and calms your hair from root to tip for an easy and homogenous smoothness.
2. Anti-Frizz 48hours: like a shield, the formula helps protect your hair against the effect of humid or dry condition, such as frizz and puffiness.

Pros
- smells wonderful
- shampoo does not strip off oil on my hair
- combination does not give me the tangle
- easy to comb through hair
- inexpensive
- very moisturizing
- not much hair fall
Cons
- daily use: gave me dandruff
- can oil up roots due to hot and humid weather
Overall
I've tried the Elvive line and I can totally vouch the Elseve one works way better for our weather. Maybe Elvive line is best used in some parts of the world. This combination works really well for dry hair as it moisturizes hair quite well. Since I deep condition my hair once a week, I only needed to use this combination 3x to 4x a week and use an anti-dandruff shampoo for the rest of the days!
Tips
- alternate the shampoo and conditioner combination if you find this a bit too rich
- I use Head & Shoulders Shampoo together with L'Oreal Elseve Cream Conditioner on random days
- get your hair completely soaked with water prior to shampoo application
- dilute shampoo if needed then massage it gently onto the scalp area, completely rinse off hair
- run through a dollop of conditioner or more (depending on hair length) from the middle portion of your hair down to the tips
- if hair itches and dandruff occurs? Stop using shampoo and conditioner all together
Will I repurchase?

You hair looks very shiny and healthy!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been using this shampoo and conditioner for a month now and I am loving it so far :)
ReplyDeleteI've been using the Pink variant for almost two years now; I agree with the dandruff part but it does maintain my hair's smoothness. I'm just waiting for my package to arrive containing this local brand of Organic Shampoo and Conditioner for me to try. Hope it works *crosses fingers*! :)
ReplyDeleteNikki, I've used that before and I liked it. Try the Daily Treatment too for deep conditioning, it works really well! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post. As a lot of shampoos cause dandruff for me, I'll keep your remarks in mind.
ReplyDeleteIf nothing else works for my hair, I'll try using just the conditioner occasionally.
i have that conditioner. i like it :) worked really well for my frizzy hair. and my hair feels so smooth after every wash!
ReplyDeletei heart this conditioner line. but you're right, so many other products to try!!!
ReplyDeletei had exactly same set and used to love it! till half way...my scalp got so oily after using it so i just stopped...and thats it.
ReplyDeletei'm currently using it and gives me dandruff sometimes as well.. :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review. Your hair looks so shiny and healthy!
ReplyDeleteIve used this before and yes it also gave me dandruff thats why I didnt repurchase. It didnt make that much of a difference on my hair but smells wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI use the mask, which I bought based on your review. I followed your advice on leaving it on a bit longer than stated in the instructions and it works like a charm!
ReplyDeleteI don't believe we have that line in the US. But it looks like the pros outweigh the cons?
ReplyDeleteAnastacia, you think so? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteKrissy, i'm glad you're loving this!
Jean, I've used the pink version but this one makes my hair softer!
Soapaholic, I'll give the other variant a try, thanks for the reco :D
ReplyDeleteKuri, yes, the conditioner works really really well! I find this combination works, just remove the dandruff factor!
Mia, thanks for giving your comment!
MereMakeupManiac, thanks for your comment, glad to know its just NOT ME and my sensitive scalp!
ReplyDeleteXin, maybe..we just need to alternate right? How's the prep?
Nesz, oohh, try alternating with an anti-dandruff shampoo! it works like a charm!
Gio,thank you
ReplyDeletejenobebs, dear, try alternating, it works really well on me now!
Denise,, oohh the mask is WONDERFUL!!! Thanks for letting me know how it goes, glad you liked leaving the mask longer! It worrks no?
Fab beauty, SO TRUE!
i have already tried 2 of their variants...the white one (with ginseng, i think) & the pink & both of them gave me a bad case of dandruff...i hate it!
ReplyDeletei just don't want to be called as a snob since i have only tried one even though i have a bad result, that's why i decide the pink one but the result is still the same...
it actually dried my hair out..
i hate it so much
>_<
Good Afternoon, I am planning to buy the shampoo. Which do you prefer, buying the shampoo only or both of them or the conditioner only? Years ago, my hair was so long and sleek, but then it got damaged. I don´t know why. So I want my old hair back, so I´m going to try this one. My hair looks thick, frizzy and dry now. :( I saw this product on TV recently, and on a magazine months ago.
ReplyDeleteThia, Oh no! Sorry this brand did not work for you! What shampoo are you using now? On my case, most shampoos and conditioners give me the case of dandruff if I use it for a long time, I am more "hiyang" on alternating brands.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, to save money, you can start by trying one of them first (shampoo OR conditioner), I suggest you purchase conditioner first (base on your dry hair problem) then see if it works with your current shampoo, in that way, if you found the product does not work for you, at least you don't have a shampoo and conditioner end up sitting inside your shower!
I went from dark brown to blond and used for Sunsilk hair damaged and dry (orange bottle), it kept my hair in good condition and it has always been brilliant.
ReplyDeleteWorks for me! Been using it for 3 mos. now. Just the shampoo most of the days, though, and I use the conditioner once a week. My hair tends to get heavy if i use both.
ReplyDeletewow..lucky you that you can get away with just shampoo! Me? I really can't, it must be the shampoo and conditioner combination! Thanks for sharing your experience!
