Revlon Age Defying 2-Way Foundation with Botafirm Review

I've been a powder foundation user for quite some time because aside from feeling so light on my skin, I like it that it's low maintenance!  I can just apply my face powder inside the care without mess!

Years ago, when I was searching for a drugstore powder foundation targeting the mature individuals like myself, I've seen the sleek, red packaging from Revlon and I actually walked away because I was worried how it'll cake on me or how it'll dry up my skin!

When it's fate, it's fate!

Revlon Age Defying 2-Way Foundation with Botafirm says ---
Revlon Age Defying 2-Way Foundation is infused with Botafirm formula, helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles so the skin looks smoother and younger.  The product also contains soft focus powder that smooths and blends out skin imperfections for a natural translucent and long lasting finish.

Revlon Age Defying 2-Way Foundation also contains Vitamin E and Luffa Hydro-essence, to protect skin from free radicals and help maintain its natural moisture.

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Nice compact packaging.
  • Foam included is made of good quality
  • Huge mirror!
  • The sponge "compartment" has holes underneath which gives room for "air"
  • Refillable!  Saves the environment!
  • The shades are of yellow-tone which was said to fit most Asian skin.
  • No white cast or powdery texture.
  • Looks very natural on skin.
  • Gives a nice coverage.
  • Evens out my skin tone and redness actually disappears a bit.
  • Does not set in fine lines.
  • Long lasting, the foundation stays for more than half a day before retouch is even needed.
  • Can be used both wet and dry.  Dry for light to medium coverage, wet for medium to heavy coverage.
  • Can double up as concealing powder.
  • Has SPF12
  • Feels very smooth and light during application.
  • Works as a great re-touch powder too!
Cons
  • Shades available are quite limited.  Especially if you have pink undertone skin, this will look yellowish on you.
  • Not sure about the Age Defying function as you cannot see the result instantly!
  • Not widely available everywhere!  I think some countries do not sell these anymore!
Overall
This is actually a favorite drugstore powder foundation of mine!  I know I've been raving about the Paul & Joe Dual Powder Compact Foundation but I know a lot of you are on a budget, then this will be my next bet!  (Personal opinion)

Tips
  • Dry skin: Remember to moisturize skin prior to makeup application.
  • Oily skin: You can choose to use an oil control primer prior to this application.
  • Keep sponge clean by washing it frequently.
  • If you prefer a more natural look, use a brush for a more natural finish.
  • Keep in mind to purchase the right shade as you can either look muddy or too white!
  • If you chose to apply this dry, apply it dry at ALL times!
  • If you chose to apply this wet, be consistent and apply this wet at ALL times!
  • Do not drop this compact!
  • Never share your sponge with other people!
  • Revlon has sales once in a while, if you are on a budget, you can wait for sales!
Will I repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who loves powder foundation!  This foundation actually works for oily, normal and dry skin!

Where to purchase and how much?
At local Revlon Counters for less than Php1,000 (approx $23.00).  Sorry forgot the exact price, will update the pricing soon!

The Shade I am using is 04 Buff
which works for medium light to medium skin color

Applied alone on my bare face
I'm a MAC NC20-25,
Paul & Joe #20/#30,
Revlon Colorstay in Nude,
Revlon PhotoReady in Natural Beige

My other favorite powder foundation is the Neutrogena Fine Fairness UV Compact!
So if you're on a budget and can only go for drugstore powder foundation, there are a lot of choices for you!
