AMW Revies: Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover Case + Refill

What's my favorite Powder Foundation brand that you can think of on top of your head?  Clue?  French Japanese Brand.
You got it!  Paul & Joe!

The Paul & Joe Protective Dual Powder Foundation has been a favorite of mine ever since I started blogging!  I love it so much I am actually saving them up for clients!  Don't get me wrong, there are so many powder foundations out there that works just as fine but the Paul & Joe Dual Powder Foundation has a special place in my heart and I now know why!  Aside from it's wonderful quality and coverage, the packaging melts my heart each and every time I pull it out from my make-up train case!

Would you believe after almost 3 years?  Another one came just as close to my heart?  You'll obviously guess it right away as the brand recently arrived our shores and you can see their gorgeous counters at SM Megamall and SM Makati!

Pros
  • Gorgeous refill case which saves up money because you can always purchase refills.
  • Light to  medium and slight heavy coverage that gives a very natural glow!
  • Not matte nor shimmery but gives out a healthy overall effect of skin.
  • No allergies, itch or skin irritations.
  • Does not look cakey at all.
  • Stays minus retouch for almost 8 hours.  Considering I do have dry skin.
  • Has SPF18
  • Does not dry out my dry skin.
  • Works wonderfully as a "setting powder foundation" once you use a medium sized face brush to gently brush onto your face.
  • Does not feel heavy at all!
  • No weird smell.
  • I tried covering the sides of my nose which has obvious pores, and it did its job!
  • My overall look "brightened" up by just using this powder foundation!
Cons
  • Limited shades available.
Overall
Great alternative for the more expensive Powder Foundations available in the market like Shiseido, Paul & Joe, etc..

Tips
  • This shade BO10 works well for MAC NC25-35 skin color.
  • Wash the sponge first before usage.  There is a strong smell coming from the sponge.
  • For a more "natural look", use a kabuki brush and buff the powder foundation gently all over the face.
  • Always prep your skin with the right primer prior to usage.  Moisturizing Primer for dry skin, Oil-control primer for oily skin.
  • Do not forget to use sunblock even if this foundation comes with SPF18.
  • Thanks to a commenter for the tip: once you put the refill, gently push it in until you hear a "click" sound which place the refill safely into the compact!
  • Try on shades by applying it all over your face on counter, then walk around and see if the powder shade matches your skin and neck!
  • Take care of your compact as you can purchase refills in the future which helps you save money and save the environment!
Will I repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?

Anyone into powder foundation that gives out a very natural finish!

Where to purchase and how much?

Skin Remaker Pore Cover SPF18 Php895.00 (approx $20.80) refill only. Php450.00 (approx $10.00) for the case. Exclusively available at SM Department Stores and Watson's.

  1. Oh my! That's half the price of my favorite Shiseido foundation! I think I should try this. I wonder if it would work as well on oily skin though.

  7. Xin, thank you so much for saying so, but this is really nice as I applied it quite thickly and it still looks like my skin!

Issa, maybe you can start by trying out the testers, then...buy the refill lang muna, if you fell in love with it, then go buy the compact and always go for refills na! saves the environment talaga :D

  8. wow Nikki the casing looks so gorgeous! it looks natural on you nga. I rarely use powder foundations ngayon.. BB cream lang then set with loose powder tapos pressed powder lang for retouch hehe

  9. Great review, Nikki!
You made me curious about this powder foundation now! I'm definitely more of a powder foundation person, but since my skin has become drier these days, I'm more using Tinted Moisturizers + Powder.

The most natural powder that I own is the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural.

And most natural mineral powder foundation is the Dior Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Fresh Powder Makeup SPF 10.

    Have you tried yet, Nikki?

  15. I'm such a sucker when it comes to your reviews! Super good timing lagi :) I gave it a road test at the counter in Megamall a couple of weeks ago. I forgot my shade.. either BO20 or OC20

I'm still deliberating whether to buy or not though, it's a tad too expensive for someone who doesn't know a thing about makeup.

  19. Khymm, ako I do use powder foundation but dust it lang after BB cream, I love using Kabuki Brush with it! ganda ng finish!

Jess, thanks dear, hmm, I like MAC mineralized Skinfinishes too but I find they are great for retouch, but at the start of the day, I like using powder foundation with a brush! I haven't tried DiorSkin nude, I've been seeing them around as good foundation! Natural looking!

Lootwagon, give it a try na lang, I found out they have testers sa malls! ganda ng mirror! hahahha

Thia, oo...I know what you mean< I haven't been out to malls lately as I spend most of my weekends doing something! Kaya minsan lang talagang maglibot so I'm taking advantage of it :)

  21. Kai, awww thanks for liking my reviews! Well if you have a yellow tone, go for the one with Beige! :) The O lang means Ochre so it has more of the pinkish undertone! Whether you know a thing or not about makeup, powder foundation lang, a good one would work really well on your whole look! I love powder foundations!

Char, yes, its nice coverage and my skin looks super natural! as in parang natural na maganda skin ko! ( parang lang) hehehehe

Gio, thanks for your compliment, I agree with you on the natural coverage

  22. eMs, I am between NC20-25 and I am using B)10, its a bit yellower, just a tiny bit but its not obvious for overall effect :) You can ask your friend to look at B)10 or O10 , either or ka diyan!

Michelle, same with you! *high five*

  23. I noticed from one of the pics that you didn't properly place your refill inside the case. Take a look inside the case and notice the left side. You'll see something jutted out (I can't describe it very well). That's supposed to help clip the refill into place. Hope this tip helps.

  24. Wow, you are right! thank you so much anonymous, didn't know that :D

  25. I noticed that the pictures didn't leave a white cast. That's another plus.

    ReplyDelete
  26. ScatterbrainSince'83, yes! No white cast for sure so its a huge plus. Blends in my skin :)

  27. my skin tone is between nc40-42 coz i'm morena. Is there a shade of this that would go with my skin tone?

  28. @Anonymous Hi, I strongly suggest you go to their counter and check on the testers, they have them available on the cute counters and I think that's the best way to test the product. Mine looks really dark on the pan but surprisingly, it matches my skin :)

  31. hi nikki :) would you know if this fits the case of Shiseido's Sheer Mattifying Powder? And does this powder also moisturizes skin just like Shiseido's? Thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. @kristina Hi there, I apologize for the delayed response as I checked with the people in charge first to make sure my answer is right :)

Here's the response of Ms. Cathy from Majolica Majorca :)

"Yup! Our Skin Remaker Pore Cover fits the case of the Sheer Mattifying powder case of Shiseido.

However, I don’t think either powder is moisturizing. Powders are not moisturizing kase. J But Skin Remaker Pore Cover will definitely give your smooth feeling like a porcelain doll."

    Hope this helps!

  33. Thanks nikki for answering my question about the skin remaker pore cover :) if you don't mind, i have another question, i've been searching everywhere for the complete list of the powder's ingredients but i can't seem to find it, would you happen to know? i really want to try the powder but i'm afraid coz most powders break me out.. :(
