Hi gorgeous people!!! It's weekend!!! Thank you Lord that I did not have anything planned out today because I needed all the rest I can get! I'm feeling the muscle pain and all those aches the day after my super enjoyable trip! Its all worth it I tell you!!!
I will post to you a nail art tutorial inspired by "nothing" but turned out to be something after my trip! As seen on the photo below, I actually saw a character in a shop in Singapore selling a cute looking doll called Kimmidoll that looks a tiny bit like my nail art!

Of course Kimmidoll looks way better! Keep in mind that the nail art tutorial was done prior to my Singapore trip, but I can't help but call this my "Singapore's Kimmidoll nails"!

Use your preferred base coat to protect your nails. Apply 2 coats of matte white polish. The Face Shop polish was used for this tutorial.
Step 2:
With any thin brush or L.A. Art Deco Polish in black, draw an outline just like shown on photo below. Drawing an outline is easier for us to "fill" the polish in without going zigzag!

Step 3:
Using a matte black polish, mine is still from The Face Shop, fill in the "hair" of the doll.
Step 4:
This is optional, but I like creating real "bangs". With the same thin brush from L.A. Art Deco polish.
Step 5:
With a nail art dotting tool, create the eyes.
Step 6:
With the same dotting tool, dot a cute pink polish just right below the eyes for that "blushing effect". I used OPI polish in Cotton Candy for this.
Step 7:
Draw the doll's mouth with a thin brush.
Step 8:
Using the same brush, create the "chin" by drawing a line just below the mouth as shown on photo below.
Step 9:
With L.A. Art Deco Polish in Red or you can use any red nail polish brush, draw an "imperfect" V-shape just right on the neck area for "kimono".
Step 10:
Using the same OPI Cotton Candy Nail Lacquer that was used on the "blushing cheeks", create 2 huge dots on the "hair" area. This will look like a ribbon.
Step 11:
Dot a yellow dot or any color you want to complete the ribbon look.
Step 12:
Protect your nail art design with a top coat of your choice.

Voila! You get to have a cute girl on your nails!
You can also draw a "boy" alternatively for a cuter effect!

What inspires you to do nail art?
Keep smilin'

ReplyDeleteDang I love those tutorials! Anywhen I'll try some out :) Too bad I'm not all that ambidextrous. But all those layers of nail polish must take forever to get dry and hard, don't they? Bookmarked your site. So cute, thanks for that :)
ReplyDelete@Majie Majie, You don't have to be ambidextrous to be able to do these nail art designs. I'm one HUGE proof! Just take time and practice! I've been doing this for almost 4 years and you can see I'm still struggling with a lot of strokes.
ReplyDeleteFor the drying factor, it is very important to make the base dry fast then from there, everything is faster!
