Nail Art Tutorial: Churp Churp!

Good morning and happy Monday!

Today is another wonderful day for a Nail Art Tutorial.  Most of you probably know by now that I spent my weekend in Kuala Lumpur!  Prior to leaving Manila, I've decided to change my nail art design!  I wanted to continue the Christmas series Nail Art designs but I've decided to go for a theme.  I like doing nail art that's a bit related to the country I'll be visiting.

Example, Panda Nails for Shanghai, China
KimmiDoll Nails for Singapore

The reason why I'm off to Malaysia is because of the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards, I chose to either use the Nuffnang logo or Churp Churp!  The latter won my heart, see how cute Churp Churp is?

I don't know if I did justice to the "cuteness" of our dear li'l blue bird, but I think this is the closest I can get with my tiny fingernails!

It's not that hard if you're used to doing nail art!  Let me show you how I did mine!

Step 1:
Apply a good coat of base coat, my favorite is Zoya.  Then applyl 2 coats of matte/shimmer white polish.

Step 2:
Once the base white polish color is completely dry, choose Churp Churp's Nail Polish shade and create a half circle shape as shown on photo below.

Step 3:
With a thin nail art brush or any art brush, choose a darker blue colored polish to create Churp Churp's outline, at the same time, draw Churp Churp's cute bangs/fringe.

Step 4:
With a nail art dotting tool or any tool you can find at home, create 2 big white dots with the same white polish you used as base.  Draw the dot as big as possible as Churp Churp has big, gorgeous "Cartoon-ish" eyes.

Step 5:
Once the white dots are dry, draw black dots on top of the white, make sure the black dots are smaller than the white.  Churp Churp tends to look at one direction only, so keep that in mind.  The positioning of black dots are the most important in this nail art design.  (gosh, I sounded so serious hahaha)

Step 6:
Same as step 5, making sure the black dots are completely dry, apply a tiny white dot for that "teary-eyed" effect.

Step 7:
With a thin nail art brush or use L.A. Art Deco polish in yellow, draw a triangular shape between the eyes for Churp Churp's nose.

Step 8:
Once the nail art designs are completely dry, you can top with your favorite glittery polish or just plain top coat.
