AMW Reviews: Palgantong Makeup Theatrical Powder

I got my Palgantong Make-Up Theatrical Powder from a dear blogger friend who gifted this to me!  To be honest, I do not use much setting powder as my skin could get flaky if I set my makeup with an oil control setting powder so I prefer to leave my makeup as dewy as possible!

As a makeup artist, this is one of the many products needed to make my clients happy!  So off I went to try this as a setting powder or retouch powder and I'm oh so ready to report to you how I find this product! :)

Palgantong Make-Up Theatrical Powder says ---
  • Make use of natural ingredients leaving a natural sheer finish
  • Ultra fine, lightweight loose powder, keeps skin in its natural glow
  • Waterproof allows long lasting freshness look
  • Works perfectly with or without makeup and does not clog up pores
AMW says ---
Pros
  • Packaging is hygienic as you get to sift out just the amount of product you need without messing the rest of the powder.
  • Definitely lightweight, does not feel heavy on skin once applied!
  • Gives a very nice smooth finish.
  • Matte-looking skin without the shine for hours.
  • Can minimize the look of pores.
  • No weird scent
Cons
  • No ingredients listed on packaging so I can't tell if a certain ingredient can cause allergic reactions or not.
  • As always for loose powders, it can get a bit messy as compared to pressed powders.
  • Not readily available locally as we need to scour on resellers and some of them are on prebuy so we need to wait!
  • With this particular Clear White variant, applying too much may make you look ghostly white especially if applied with heavy hand!
Overall
One of the finest setting powder I've tried and this is even comparable to my Shu Uemura Face Powder in terms of texture and feel.  It does mattify your face and has oil-control, do not expect coverage as this comes in  very sheer.

Tips
  • Blot your face with oil-control sheets PRIOR to applying this setting powder or else, you'll get blotchy skin!
  • Does control oil but doesn't control sweat so you still need to blot and retouch especially if you're living in a super hot and humid country like the Philippines.
  • Use the free sponge with a patting motion for a matte finish.
  • For overall setting powder, use a big face brush and pat on your face concentrating more on the t-zone area.
  • A little definitely goes a long way for this particular product!  I prefer using a big powder brush and a little amount of this powder and gently apply all over face to remove excess shine and moisture.
Will I repurchase?
Yes, I would like to go for the Beige version which could be the closest dupe for Shu Uemura's Face Powder in Sheer.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who likes oil-control and re-touch minus the heavy feel.

Where to purchase and how much?
We used to have Dodo Cosmetics sold locally at Greenhills but they closed down so I guess we can only shop online.  This Multiply Seller sells 10g for Php600.00 (approx $13.95).

So far, for its' price and the amount of product that was still left, this product is worth it especially if you are into loose setting powder with oil control! :)

Do you use loose type of setting powder?
If so, which brand and do you like it?

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

  5. I use RCMA. Available at Hd makeup studio and academy. For php 800, its like the size ofmccormick containers. It will take years to finish that. Super lightweight too and clear.

  9. I didn't like this product when I used it. It was always blotchy, and the packaging and puff is of quite poor quality.

  13. Hi miss nikki! Have you tried to use snoe poudre extraordinaire? This is the best powder I have ever tried so far! It really last the whole day in just only one application. I'm really loving it so much because it look so natural on the skin.
