Nail Art Tutorial: Sunkist Nails

Happy Thursday!  Good morning! Good afternoon!  Good evening! :)

Wherever you are in the world, I hope my simple nail art tutorial gives you the boost of "Vitamin C"!  I did not intend to create a "Sunkist" inspired nail art!  I was just swiping on a nice orange shade from Color Combo (thanks Bee!) then it all turned out perfect for the summer!

My Sunkist Nails

Step 1:
Apply a base coat prior to nail polish application for the protection of your nails.  Apply 2 coats of Color Combo Nail Color in CBL10 or any orange shade available!

Step 2:
Using Orly's DayGlow Nail Lacquer, I created a "curved" almost-circle shape on the side of the nails.

Step 3:
Use L.A. Colors Art Deco in White or you can use the same color on Step 2 with an art brush from bookstore to create a single, thin line just below the "almost-circle" created above.

Step 4:
Using a nail art dotting tool and Caronia's Sweet Surprise Frosted Nail Polish, create the flower petals in a "teardrop" shape.

Step 5:
Since the yellow petals disappeared a bit on the white background of the base color, I've decided to add up a hint of dark blue shade from The Face Shop BL604.

Step 6:
Dot a tiny glittery polish at the center of the flower.

Step 7:
This step is optional, but I like sparkly nails, I pulled out my Etude House Party Nails Gradation Set  and picked out the sparkly gold polish.

Apply from the bottom going upwards.

Step 8:
As soon as the nail art design is completely dry, apply your choice of top coat.  Guess what?  I got my own Seche Vite Top Coat!  Known to be the BEST topcoat in the whole wide world!!! (Exaggerating!)  But I'll definitely share to you how good/not so good/bad it is! :)

Here's my short fingernails waving GOODBYE! :)
My nails were cut short during Orly's Feel The Vibe Launch.
Don't worry, I didn't feel bad, I don't have the feeling of attachment with my nails!  *laughs*
