AMW Reviews: Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Powder

The Age Defying Line from Revlon was given a thumbs up approval by yours truly based on a couple of products I've reviewed.

(please click product name for past reviews)
Revlon Age Defying 2-Way Foundation with Botafirm - in which I've recently hit the pan as this is the powder of choice on lazy days due to its light to medium coverage.
Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream Makeup - another to-go-to lightweight cream makeup perfect for daily use without the skin dryness and flakiness.
Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Concealer -  my most recent Age Defying product review which hailed positive reviews not only from me but from bloggers alike!  I love how easy this product is to use on a daily basis!  Even my sister was a convert!  She purchased this concealer for her dark under eye circles!

And just when I thought my Age Defying Line is complete, well, thought for the day: "There can never be enough makeup!" A simple powder from the Age Defying with DNA Advantage line stood up with vengeance!  It's in bright red packaging that goes so well with the rest!  Shall we sing: "We Are Family" now?

The whole shebang!  The compact is around 4.5 inches long.  Comes with a small mirror and a tiny natural-bristled brush.

Shade used in this review: Light/Medium

Revlon says ---
Our ultra fine powder helps skin to feel conditioned and look luminous, minimizing the appearance of discoloration due to the signs of aging. This deluxe pressed powder glides on seamlessly and feels lightweight on skin. Skin looks smoother and conditioned and does not settle into fine lines, wrinkles and pores.
Use in conjunction with Revlon Age Defying DNA Advantage™ makeup to achieve superior anti-aging protection.

Shades: Light, Light/Medium, Medium and Medium/Deep
Ingredients:

Pros
  • Silky and fine powder that glides on easily on skin using brush or sponge.
  • Lightweight.
  • Gives a silky, non-drying finish.
  • Doesn't cause my dry skin to flake even in-between retouch.
  • Can give a very light to light-medium coverage (depending on which tool you use to apply, please read tips below.)
  • Can be used for photography, no white cast.
Cons
  • Product packaging.  I wish it could go smaller or similar to the 2-Way Foundation's packaging.
  • Mirror could go bigger.
  • The tiny brush may not be a comfortable brush for full face retouch.
Overall
The Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Powder is lightweight, easy to apply, controls shine without drying out the skin.  Perfect pressed powder for retouch minus the mess!

Tips
from Revlon
  • Swirl brush into powder and tap off excess.
  • Blend powder evenly all over face in short, sweeping strokes.
  • Use on top of Age Defying with DNA Advantage™ Cream Makeup for a flawless look and superior anti-aging protection.
from AMW
  • The brush that comes with the compact isn't as bad as I originally thought.  It is very important to wash the brush as the hair turns softer and more manageable.
  • For quick touch-ups (ex. t-zone), swirl the brush directly on the powder and gently buff the product on areas that tends to oil-up.
  • On days you want your skin to breathe, use your favorite concealer to cover up spots then use a sponge and gently press the powder to "set".
  • If you are looking for more coverage (even for a retouch powder), skip this.
  • This is NOT a 2-way powder foundation so it's best not to wet the product.
  • For better control, use your favorite K-brush (kabuki brush), swirl, tap and buff!
  • Light shade works best for really fair skinned individuals.  This shade can also be used to "highlight" areas you want to highlight.
  • Light/Medium shade (the shade I personally use) works best for light to medium skin.  (Ex. MAC NC15-20 skin).
  • Medium and Medium/Deep would work for NC25 above.  Keep in mind that these are powders, NOT powder foundation so coverage isn't as heavy so the powder doesn't change much the color of your skin!
Will I repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Normal, combination and dry skinned individuals.

Where to purchase and how much?
At local Revlon counters for Php925.00 (approx $23.12).

Closer look of Revlon Age Defying in Light/Medium

The cute "DNA" mark that's also present in their cream makeup.

Natural bristled brush

New product is well sealed with a sticker for freshness.

Swatch of Light/Medium shade on hand.
This is true warm shade that doesn't have any pink undertone which works so well on my skin!

After Concealer and cream blush application, I gently buff Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Powder all over face using the brush that comes with the packaging.

Full face look using Light/Medium shade.  The effect is very light and natural almost no-makeup look!

Are you currently a powder foundation or powder user?
I usually prefer powder foundation but on days I use concealer underneath, I pick this up for light coverage perfect for summer!

  2. Nice review, Nikki. I bought this product months ago but didn't really use it that much. Your review is encouraging me to re-discover this product. Btw, I notice that the price is way higher in the Philippines. This only cost $12.00 in the US.

    1. Hi, yes, everything is higher down here due to tax and importation fees! It's okay, as paying for shipping is pricier too so I'd rather get it down here :D
