Initial Thoughts: Bobbi Brown Art Stick

As soon as I got the newest "Art Stick" from Bobbi Brown PH, I gave an immediate "sigh" and raised my arm to surrender!  I'm surely gonna lose this battle!  Just the sight of this jumbo wooden pencil, I'm probably saying "bye bye" to this and give it to someone who has better (a.k.a. more moisturized lips) than I do!

But after reading about the inspiration behind the Art Sticks (note: I love reading Bobbi Brown's inspiration on each makeup line she creates!) I was actually surprised seeing the 2 adjectives --- creamy and moisturizing.  They must be kidding me!

So off I tried Electric Pink which looked oh so drying!  It was a very busy day at work when I tested this out, didn't apply lip balm underneath for the "ultimate test".

I'll share you my experience but please do check out the gorgeous Electric Pink shade!

 Swatch on arm
The color appeared vividly, non-drying formulation and highly pigmented.
On swatch, this appears a bit on the cooler side but once applied on lips, it gives a perfect "warmth" which works so well on my warm skin tone.

Swatch on lips
No lip balm underneath and gloss on top

I was extremely amazed on how smooth the lip pencil glides through my very dry lips!  And to test this even more for longevity, I applied this after lunch and went out on an event, arrived home late at night and still have a lovely warm pink shade on my lips!  The drying part?  Well, there are a bit of cracks and flaking but blame my UBER dry lips on that!  The Bobbi Brown Art Stick is really a winner in my lip pencil dictionary after MAC Lip Pencil in Cherry.

There are only very few lip pencils that I like and Bobbi Brown Art Sticks definitely went up to my top slot!

The only downside about this is that ...it is a pencil that needs sharpening!  And the pencil is quite huge so you can't use your regular eyeliner pencil sharpener on this!  Fret not!  The Bobbi Brown Art Sticks comes with the sharpener when you purchase one!

The Bobbi Brown Art Sticks are best applied on dry lips and top with a gloss for more drama.  Art Sticks are available in 8 shades (Rose Brown, Sunset Orange, Cherrywood, Electric Pink, Dusty Pink, Cassis, Harlow Red and Bright Raspberry).

Priced at Php1,500.00 (approx $33.33), the Art Stick comes with the sharpener available at Bobbi Brown counters in Rustan’s Makati (812-2507), Rustan’s Shangri-la Mall (633-4636 loc. 114), Essenses Rockwell (822-9400), Rustan's Ayala Center Cebu (+6332 231 5633) SM Mall of Asia and SM Megamall
