How To: Office/Interview Ready MakeUp Using Drugstore Brands

Good morning!  Check out my ID-looking photo!  #LOL
You can't help but give a hand to this girl who tried EVERYTHING to look like a fresh graduate right?  Come on!  I deserve a round of applause ha!

Well, after years of blogging, I realized, I did not create a post specifically for our Office (hard)Workers or Job Interviewees!   Just so you know, I'm working in an HR Field for almost a decade now!  So I do have a bit of idea on the "look" most of our bosses would want for their employees.

Keep in mind that this How To: Office/Interview Ready makeup Tutorial isn't meant to be "a must do" or "you must fellow this or else" type of tutorial.  This is just one of the MANY looks I've had in mind just in case you are wondering what time of make up you should sport during an interview or on your first day of work!  If you love this photo-torial, feel free to give me a big warm hug and I'll share more tips and ideas on Office and Job interview makeup okay?

Seriously, I can pass as a college graduate naman di ba?  (hell yah!  LATE college graduate! hahaha)

By the way, since this could possibly be a fresh graduate looking for a job makeup, I made sure to pick all drugstore makeup!  They are inexpensive yet they deliver!  I wouldn't mind using all these products professionally!

Base
I picked Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous Trio!  The trio includes a Liquid Founation, a concealer and a powder foundation!

If you have normal or dry skin like I do, a moisturizer and sunblock can already work as your primer!  If you have extremely oily skin, invest on a good oil-control face primer or if you are on a budget, buy oil-control films!

I use a small amount of Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous Fresh Complexion Oil-Free Foundation on key areas (the center of my face and undereye area).  I used a foundation brush applying with downward strokes to prevent streaks.  On good days, I can use this as a concealer and set with powder.

On days I lack good night's rest, I pick a liquid type concealer so it won't dry out my skin especially when exposed inside an air-conditioned room.  This concealer does not only cover blemishes, it helps "highlight" key areas around my face naturally.

Eye Makeup
If you are on a budget and just starting out earning money.  Purchase an eyeshadow palette instead of singles.  Pick a palette that may include a brow shade!  Ex.  Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Cherry Blossom

I mixed the shade Cherry Coke and Warm morning and gently define my brows.  A powder is better in terms of making your brows look natural.  When you are going for job interview or office makeup, never create extremely strong brows as it may give a wrong impression to a higher authority.

Using the shade Warm morning or any "copperish" shade, apply this gently on the crease area creating "depth".  Please be careful when you use reddish colored eyeshadow as it may make your eyes appear bloodshot!  A little goes a long way!

Pick a smaller pencil brush and define your eyes with a dark brown shadow shade.  This shade is called Cherry Coke.

Using the remaining shadow on your brush, apply on the outer thirds of your bottom lashes!  For office makeup, I tend to stay away from applying pencil liner beneath because if it smudges midday or due to the warm weather, you may look tired and lack sleep!

Now on to the liner.  Instead of using a pencil liner (which may smudge especially when you commute), pick any of your existing waterproof mascara, and grab some of this waterproof mascara with your favorite liner brush.  Gently massage through the mascara pigment over the roots of your lashes to create fuller-looking lashes.  The waterproof formula will prevent eyeliner mishaps!

These 2 steps are optional, pick Baby Peony shade (left photo) and apply this at the center of your lids.  Then use any brightening eyeshadow and apply a tiny bit at the inner corner of your eyes to create brighter looking eyes!

Instead of highlighting the brow bone area with glittery shadow!  We don't want to create an impression of a "party girl".  Instead, use your powder foundation and clean up the brow bone area and blend existing lines.

Don't forget to curl your lashes and apply coats of mascara!  Nothing beats wide-awake eyes!

Set everything with an oil-control powder.  I used Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous Powder Fresh Complexion Powder Foundation.  Apply with dabbing motion so that you won't "move" the concealer you applied early on.

Blush
Never over apply your blusher!  You will either look flushed, sick or just plain Cindi Lauper!  I like to work with Creams or Mousse because it stays longer.  As we all know, when we are working in an office, we try not to retouch too much giving your boss the impression that you spend more time on your face than work!

In this tutorial, I used Maybelline  Dream Bouncy Blush in shade Candy Coral.

Lips
Try not to go for nude lip colors or extreme colored lipsticks.  (No reds for now)
Nude colored lipsticks may make you look sick and lifeless if not applied properly.  Red lipsticks scream PARTY!

I picked Maybelline Lipstick in Pink Me Up .
