The Philippine Launch of UNIQLO Baby

When my son was still a baby, I tend to dress him up in cute outfit that would make everyone goes "awwww!" whenever they see him.  But, most of the time, I go for "blah" clothing as long as he feels and look comfortable.  Can't we just combine but cuteness and comfort?

YES we can!  All thanks to the Japanese Clothing and High-Street Brand Uniqlo!  I always find their clothing to be super comfortable so I trust them when they say their Uniqlo Baby Wear are categorized as Class 1 - the safest classification under the Oeko-Tex Standard.  From raw materials used to the finished product, all the clothes made are formalin-free to ensure the health and safety of babies.

I'll share more about those information later on but let me share to you the photos during the launch!

UNIQLO Baby was formally launched at SM Aura branch last week.  I was right at the nick of time (sorry, long story!)

The event was hosted by Delamar of RX93.1 and she introduced to us the newest addition to the "UNIQLO MOMMY" (I coined that term!  Don't quote me! :P)  Ms. Nikka M. Garcia (the wife of Patrick Garcia) who is now I think 6 months pregnant?

Delamar is also 4 months pregnant but just look at both blushing preggy mommies!

During the event, I learned that the "Babies" collection is initially being carried only in 5 stores - Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, SM North EDSA, SM Aura and Powerplant Mall.  But due to demand, the collection is already available in 11 more UNIQLO outlets namely SM Pampanga, SM Clark, Robinsons Manila, SM BF Paranaque, SM Southmall, Gateway, SM City San Lazaro, SM Makati and Robinsons Magnolia.

Now we all know the demands for this comfortable-yet-safe-for-babies' clothing line, how far is their quality control?  Well, from the obvious to the smallest detail was well-taken-care-off by UNIQLO.

  • Care labels are placed outside to prevent irritation.  - A MUST to prevent itchiness.
  • A special sewing technique is used to remove unevenness on the cloth or threads to keep the skin of the babies safe.
  •  Strict checks on the entire baby garments are done --- from material color, pattern, buttons, zippers and even sewing threads.
  • All the clothes in the line undergo tests for more than 200 chemical substances during the planning and production stages.
Now we understood the safety part, now let's deal with the comfort and ease of wear!  To prove their point, UNIQLO came up with a contest for both moms to dress up a UNIQLO Baby Mannequin.  The quickest mom who can dress and undress the "stiff" baby wins.

P.S. Mommies can get really competitive you know! :P

Mika can't wait to dress up her baby and I'm sure fellow mommies who attended the event felt the same!   I don't have a baby anymore but having an active toddler is way more difficult to dress up so I can't wait to purchase more UNIQLO Baby clothing (they also have sizes for toddlers) and I can breathe a sigh of relief knowing how safe my son can be!

Congratulations to the UNIQLO team for bringing in baby line for moms like me who wants nothing but the best for their babies or kiddos.

Mommies, Daddies, Titos, Titas, Lolos and Lolas...feel free to check out the Baby Collection because they are definitely a dreamland for parents like me!

And the price points aren't bad!  They are actually affordable considering the quality.

Shaun the Sheep!
Who loves them?
For the girls!  I am in love with that pink number!  I think I have a similar outfit back when I was a...arhm...in grade school?

Cute shorts!!!
Look at that denim shorts!  So adorable!

And more t-shirt options with different characters --- Mickey Mouse and Thomas the train!

So happy with the limited offer of Php290.00!

Please do not forget to check out the 2nd level of Uniqlo SM Aura because the baby and toddler outfit are extremely adorable!  I stayed there for an hour I think!  And almost forgot about other errands!

And let me leave you with this cutey onesie!

Mommies, it is true when your friends tell you to enjoy your babies while you can!  They really grow up too fast I can't seem to keep up!

Mommies, do you discern the quality of clothing your babies wear?
I used to think, just let them wear whatever they can as they grow up so fast!  There's no point in spending so much on a tiny piece of clothing!  Silly me, seeing your precious little angel with skin irritations or rashes?  NOT WORTH SAVING UP!  I tell you, give the best for your little ones!

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!
