AMW Reviews: Tony Moly Goat Milk Pure CC SPF30 PA++

So the quest for the perfect CC cream for me continues!  Most CC Creams are hydrating and brightening so I'm happy to announce most of the CC cream brands I've tried works for me!  Some may be better in terms of color correcting like this one from Tony Moly!

The Tony Moly Goat Milk Pure CC comes with SPF30 PA++ and what excites me is the fact that it contain Goat Milk which is known to be good for our skin!

The Tony Moly CC Cream comes in 2 shades -
01 Pure Milk and 02 Beige Milk
For review, I got the Pure Milk variant

Pros
  • Very hydrating.
  • Skin looks bright even applied underneath foundation.
  • Has a nice minimal scent.
  • Can reduce the look of lines and pores.
  • Has skin loving ingredients like honey,  goat's milk, etc...
Cons
  •  Due to high SPF, plus the color that gives "brightening" effect, may translate into white cast so be careful.
  • Very oily skin users may need to retouch after 3-4 hours as this product is hydrating.
  • Both shades are too light for medium to dark skintone.
Neutral
  • Packaging.  I usually LOVE tube packaging but this one comes with a pump and a "short" tube, so mine came out defective.  I can't pump out product so I had to twist open the cap to get product.
  • Coverage won't be enough for users who wanted more coverage.  But please don't blame CC creams, CC creams are mostly for color correcting, meaning, it could brighten your skin and gives certain benefits but not much of a coverage.
Overall
A CC Cream that can help hydrate the skin at the same time, the skin looks bright, healthy and glowing.

Tips
  • If you have darker complexion, go for Beige Milk.  If it is still too light for you, mix this product with your favorite liquid foundation.
  • Can be used alone if you don't have skin issues.  But please don't forget to set with powder foundation because this may appear too light on your skin.
  • If you really love the effect of this product but find the product too light for your complexion, use a darker liquid or powder foundation to lessen white cast.
  • Do not use this product if you know you'll be taking photos with directly flash.
  • A little goes a long way!
  • I prefer to mix this product with my favorite liquid foundation for a more subtle glow.
Will I repurchase?
No, I already have enough brightening primers and products.

To whom do I recommend this to?
The Tony Moly Goat Milk Pure CC Cream will work well on fair skinned users, users who don't have much skin issues and needed the extra boost of "glow".  Pure Milk would work well on users who have lighter complexion (yes, even lighter than me!)

Where to purchase and how much?
Priced at Php1,198.00 (approx $27.00) available at Tony Moly stores near you.

I love the packaging!  But I wish you won't get a faulty pump like mine!

For first time "press", it would take a couple of pumps (around 20-25 pumps) before the product comes out.  Mine took more than 100 pumps but product just wont' come out!  But it's okay, I'm thankful I can twist the cap and use it as regular "tube packaging without pump".

Shade: Pure Milk

I would've thought Pure Milk would be a white CC cream but thankfully, it has a pinkish hue which helps in making skin looks healthy and bright.

As always, when it comes to base makeup like CC Creams, BB Creams and Primers, I prefer to use my clean fingers in application.

After blending.  It isn't as obvious in person but it looks a bit too white on me.
Which I don't mind because I always set with my choice of liquid or powder foundation.

Half Face Test
No coverage for this CC Cream, my redness and dark undereye circles still shows but I like the hydrating effect the product gives and how my skin looks really healthy and glowing underneath makeup.

Now the ultimate question, what's the difference between a BB and CC Cream?
BB cream also known as Blemish Balm are like tinted moisturizer or lighter version of a foundation.  It has skincare benefits at the same time, has light to medium coverage.

CC Creams on the other hand, also known as Color Correcting, are base products meant to address particular skin issues like redness or sallowness!  Thus, these products mostly have light-diffusing particles to make skin appear brighter and glowing.  Based on experience, CC Creams are more hydrating than BB Creams.

What is your pick?
A BB or CC Cream?

Stay happy!
