Readers' Corner: A Brightening Retouch Powder

So one reader sent me an email asking me how she loves to retouch multiple times a day but she disliked the "powdered" effect most setting powders give!  So instead of saying: "Don't retouch and just use oil-control film", I'm sure a lot of you out there can't help but reach out for a powder every now and then!  I understand, it felt like a security blanket right?

You girls know how much of a "bright skin" fan I am!  Since I have fair and dry skin, I tend to look washed out whenever I set with a face powder or powder foundation!  As much as I want to whip out my contour and highlighting powders and re-apply everything midday, sometimes, I only have a minute or in-between stoplight to do so!  So my best bet is to look for a solution in the name of "Face Powder".

Etude House came up with Precious Mineral BB Compact Bright Fit.  When I saw this in store, I knew in my heart I had to purchase one!  And I did!  And it was one of the best decision in my Etude House Shopping Life! :P

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Compact Bright Fix is a Skin Brightening Pearl Powder that aims to give luminous effect with Sliding Blurry Powder and Extra Moisture Complex.  So imagine, a powdered product that won't leave your skin dry at the same time, it holds on to your skin's natural moisture.

I got the shade Natural Beige in a whim, not really trying out testers because I like all shades with the word NATURAL and BEIGE.  Those are my key words by the way! :P

Product description taken from packaging

Here's the thing with using powder as retouch tool.  Powders are meant to just keep skin looking fresh all day, reduce shine or maybe retain moisture but do not expect much coverage as to oppose to its' cousin the Powder Foundation.  Most face powders leave my skin dry (and drier) and though it may keep my skin looking fresh, I always feel there is the "made-up" feel at the end of application.

As for this Bright Fix from Etude House, I like how it evens out my skin yet gives almost seamless finish!  You won't even see a trace of powder on my face yet it made my skin appears brighter and healthier.

Half Face Test
Like I said, there is a minimal coverage and since I use this as a "setting powder", I already covered spots or areas needed to be hidden with my trustee concealer or foundation so I'm okay with this powder not doing anything except to make my skin look bright, deewy and healthy!

Can you see the difference?  I am so in love with this powder!

Now of course, just like any brightening BB Compact, you need to make sure not to over-apply because it may create white cast on flash photography so I prefer to just pat a thin layer all over face and stop myself from going through a second or third layer!

So yes, that covers the topic of a retouch powder that won't make you look too-made up!  Go for Etude House Precious Mineral BB Compact Bright Fit is priced at Php848.00 (approx $19.25).  It does help to try on testers before you pick the shade for you!

How do you freshen yourself with makeup midday?
