Fluffy Sweet and Sour Pork Recipe

I shared my first Sweet and Sour Recipe last year and today, I'll be sharing my 2nd version!  I believe sweet and sour recipes (no matter how many times you cook it) won't taste exactly the same each time!  That's the beauty of cooking!

So today, I'm sharing a unique way of making your Sweet and Sour Pork Dishes!  I made it fluffier better looking for kids who like meals that look good!

Ingredients:
  • Chopped Pork - cut into 1 inch cubes
  • Garlic
  • Sugar, Salt
  • Soy sauce
  • All-Purpose-Flour
  • 1 egg
  • Ziplock bag (optional)

for the sauce
  •  Del Monte Tomato Sauce
  • Pineapple or lemon or orange zest
  • Pineapple chunks (optional)
  • Red/green bell peppers
  • Salt, Pepper
  • Onion and garlic
Steps:
Place cubed pork in a bowl and season with salt, pepper, sugar, garlic and a bit of soy sauce.

Put everything inside a storage zipper bag like the one I used from Glad for marinating process to be quicker.

Cover the pork with egg and finish it off with All-purpose-flour (to create fluffy texture) and mix everything together inside the ziplock bag.

Fry each cubed pork in heated oil until cooked or until evenly brown.

Set aside on strainer to keep "crunchy texture".

Heat oil in pan and stir garlic, green bell pepper, onion.  Pour in 1 small pack of Tomato Sauce Original Style and add 1 cup water.

Add in salt, sugar, vinegar, I also added orange and lemon zest and feel free to pour in pineapple chunks if you have any!

Once you are happy with the taste, add in cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce.

Once your family is ready to eat, pour in the cubed pork and mix everything together until the pork absorbs the sweet and sour sauce.

Let it simmer for a minute or two and turn off heat.

Voila!  Prepare hot, steaming rice and prepare to bid your diet GOODBYE!

That, my friend, is my simple homecooked Sweet and Sour Pork dish!

  1. I love sweet and sour! I will definitely do this. It will be an alternate to the meatball version of sweet and sour that I do often.
