How To Use: Sleek MakeUp Highlighting Palette in Precious Metals

So one of the most requested Sleek MakeUp product to feature on my blog is their Highlighting Palette in Precious Metals.  I have always been attracted to "highlighting/contouring" products and the Sleek one is quite unique and interesting!

The palette comes with mostly metallic shades, thus the name Precious Metals.  Truth be told, I was a bit hesitant to even touch this palette because, let's face it, I'm not a teenager anymore.  But is this palette only for the youngsters?

Actually NOT!
If you use this product wisely.  That's why I created a simple How-To post to show you the right way to use this palette for a natural-finish.

According to Sleek:

This multitasking must-have creates a gorgeous all-over shimmer that instantly enhances the complexion with a fresh, radiant glow.
  • Includes three luxurious velvet cream formulas and one powder
  • Versatile face and body highlighting palette complements all skin tones
  • The iridescent, metallic finishes add a radiant glow and a luminous polish to the skin

This compact is slim and has a decent mirror and a brush.  The dark metallic case is really pretty but the OCD in me can't stop wiping this after every use!

Arm Swatch:
L-R Platinum (1) Antique Bronze (2) Royal Gold (3) Renaissance Gold (4)
This palette is made up of 3 creamy highlighting shades (1-3) and 1 shimmery bronzer (4)

You can either follow instructions on the box, or for me, I'd rather do my own method that suits my skin tone the best!

As much as you would want to use all 4 shades, please try your best not to do so to prevent yourself from looking like a disco-ball from the 80's!

Based on my skintone, I can go ahead and apply creamy highlighter shades 2 or 3!  For this particular tutorial, I went for 2 because it has more of a beige undertone which suits users with warmer complexion (like I do!)

With my clean finger, I apply a thin layer on my cheekbones and blend upwards.  If you can't see any "effect" after first layer, STOP and just ....STOP!  It will make a subtle yet huge difference once you go under the light!

2-3 layers are still acceptable if you have dry skin.  For normal and oily skin, feel free to pile up on layers for nighttime makeup look!

Shade 2 or 3 is perfect to be applied on the inner corners of my eyes.

Now getting a blush brush, dab a bit of that Renaissance Gold Bronzer shade and tap your brush to remove excess powder.

This is a perfect Blush that also contours!  Please do not use this as a mere "Contour Powder" because a bronzer is there to "warm up" your face, not as a contour powder!

Before and After Photo
With just a few strokes of highlighting cream and a bronzer powder, see the difference it made?

This palette is definitely "in" for our "strobing generation"!
I find this palette is just too big for minimal application!  I wish they have shades in a smaller compact for me to easily bring this everywhere I go!  This is an instant good skin makeup kit!
