The first time I saw these L.A. Colors Chunky Lip Pencils, I told myself: "They look like Kyle's jumbo crayons!" On top of my head, I have this impression that the color will come out chunky, dry and fake-looking.
But looks can really be deceiving! Well, the look almost fooled me!
Shades: Baby Pink and Deep Red
This is a jumbo pencil that need no sharpening! It is retractable so it is easy to tote along and use until the end! The shade Baby Pink look almost too "Teenager" for me and Deep Red seems not deep enough!
Baby Pink is a cool-toned light pink shade.
Deep Red is a warm-based medium red.
Both color glide on easily on my lips! I was extremely surprised considering the lip pencil isn't waxy or greasy! I would expect a total mess when I look at the mirror but lo and behold! The effect is very beautiful even on first swipe!
AMW Wore Baby Pink
For a cool-tone pink shade in which I expect would look too fake on me, it actually brighten my face making me look younger than I really am! Woohoo!
Both have a wonderful vanilla scent and it leaves my lips extremely light and I don't feel like I'm wearing any lip product at all!
AMW wore Deep RedAs light as it looks on swatch, once applied, the color does transform into a true deep red shade! If you want deeper red, feel free to go for 3rd or 4th swipe!
My only concern is that the lid of both pencils aren't as tight as I wanted them to be! I am scared of lipstick explosion inside my bag so be careful when you tote this along wherever you go!
Overall, I am impressed! Happy with both shades and wouldn't mind purchasing other shades available!
What's your pick? Are you team Baby Pink or Deep Red?
