Be Your Own Make Up Artist With Make Up For Ever Artist Acrylip

Before 2016 ended, I had a quick get-together with Make Up For Ever Philippines team and learned they have something exciting to offer comes 2017.  The Make Up For Ever Artist Acrylip Lip Paints!

These are liquid lipsticks that are non-sticky, non-drying and have a soft to glossy finish. No matter how non-drying a lip product is, no matter what other Beauty Bloggers say, it always turns out differently on me because of my extreme dry-lipped situation.  So for you, I tested 2 of the shades.

Left: Shade 201 Fuchsia Pink

Right: Shade 400 Iconic Red

Packaged in a squeeze-type tube, it comes with 7ml of product.  It comes with a sponge tip applicator wherein you need to squeeze the product out.  As much as I like the cute applicator, I like to use a separate lip brush in application for hygiene purpose and of course, a more precise application since both colors are extremely bright and heavily pigmented.

Shade 201 Fuchsia Pink is almost a neon pink with cool undertone.  I usually do not look good and look well on cool undertone bright pink lipsticks so I don't even dare wear this alone!  Medium to darker complexion girls may give this a try!  It'll look great on you!

Shade 400 Iconic Red is a bright medium red shade.  It is indeed very bright with a subtle hint of warm orange upon application.

For review and blog post purpose, I apply shade Iconic Red (400) straight from the applicator and so far, the application is easy, smooth and even.

For someone with extremely dry lips, shade 400 is extremely easy to apply.  It is indeed lightweight, applies smoothly and does not settle into dry lip lines even 30  minutes after application.  

Now the tricky part about this is that, it does not set into a complete DRY finish so this product isn't transfer-proof, tried drinking a cup of coffee and some pigment gets transferred easily.  (tips on application below, kindly scroll further down.)

And it's easy to create heart-shaped lips with just a bit of "smooching" :P

Now how do I use Shade 200 Fuchsia Pink?  By creating gradient lips effect.  Applying only at the center of the lips with a dabbing motion...

The effect is more 3 dimensional.

Both are highly pigmented and lightweight, easy-to-apply and blend!  What I like about the Acrylips is how I can easily create new shades by mixing and matching different colors.  The only downside is that, these are not transfer-proof so it has a tendency to move and smudge so it is best to set with a loose powder (translucent powder).  If you don't like to mattify your lipcolor, better apply a good amount of face powder on the corners of your mouth to prevent the pigments from transferring.
