Makeup World Pucker Up Matte Lipsticks Review (Cairo, Havana, Panama and Dublin)

Happy Monday AMW Friends!
I am so ecstatic to share a new found makeup brand available locally!  The brand was super nice enough to "Publicly launch" through AMW Workshop Series last March and I was given this rare opportunity to try out their bestselling products too!

"Makeup World is a locally owned brand providing a whole new colour cosmetics experience with its quality products at reasonable prices."
Thankfully, they are indeed made with quality and I like how "classy" the look of their packaging.

I got to try all 4 shades of their newest Matte Lipsticks and I like the fact that the names of the shades goes well with the name of the company --- Makeup World....shade names are wonderful places in the world!

What's your favorite shade?

AMW Wears Panama
Panama is a lovely color for daytime wear!  I like how I don't look sick or washed out even with fair complexion!  It has the right amount of pink that girls of ANY age can wear!

Because of the presence of a hint of "orange" tone to this lip color, it warms my face giving that medium rose red color!  This is also a perfect everyday lip color.  I can totally imagine a darker complexion girl to rock this color!

Cairo and Havana

Cairo is a cool tone beige brown shade.  A perfect nude lip color for most Filipinas.
Havana is a deep red lip color with purple hue.

For someone with extremely fair and "blah" complexion, I have to be careful in picking the perfect NUDE lipcolor and this color goes on perfectly without making me look tired or sick!  This is close to my favorite Too Cool For School Nude Lipstick but this particular one from Makeup World is lighter.

As much as I love the color, this particular color brings out the dryness of my lips.  Probably the more pigmented the lip color, the more drying it can get!  BUT, with the help of a bit of exfoliation and lip balm prior to application, I actually like wearing this on lazy makeup days!

  1. Cairo and Havana reminds me of poise's Boca and Vintage.

  2. I am all for Panama (looks great on you.) Cairo suits you too although if I wear that I am sure somebody would think I need a blood transfusion. Nude shades are my frustration.

    2. Oh it is. If I can pull off nude shades, I will buy tubes of Cairo but sadly nudes don't show up on me. I might as well just wear lip balm. On you though, it's a keeper.
