Panasonic Nanocare Facial Ionic Steamer Review

How effective is "Steaming" for the face and body?
I was told your body and facial pores will open up thus will help your skin "Detox" all the dirt and oil to reveal better-looking skin.

This as based from interviewing Korean students while I was teaching in China, I also asked several Facial Spas both in and out of the country --- they always include "steaming", it must be effective, right?

Well, I recently got my own "Facial Steaming at the comforts of my home" with the newest product from Panasonic Beauty called Nanocare Facial Ionic Steamer.  I have tested this for almost a month now using twice or sometimes thrice a week.  I will be sharing my honest thoughts to let you guys know if this works or not.

Panasonic Nanocare Facial Ionic Steamer Says ---

  • Enjoy relaxing, spa-like facial sauna treatments at home with nano steam
  • The face steamer generates nano-sized steam particles to penetrate the skin and moisturize
  • Quickly and gently removes makeup, dirt and other impurities from the skin
  • Use daily to thoroughly cleanse the skin for easier makeup application
  • The sleek, stylish design and compact size complements any bathroom, makeup table or dressing area dΓ©cor

Now what is the difference between a regular "steam" and "nano-ionic steam"?
Nano-sized particles are ultra-fine and is 4,000 finer than normal steam so it will help penetrate into the skin effectively and supplement moisture.

Yes AMW friends, I've done a couple of research before plugging in this beauty gadget!

Let's first talk about the look of the Panasonic Nanocare, as much as I have a good space at home, I dislike big, bulky-looking gadget on my desk!  So I actually appreciate the sleek, beautiful design with a hot pink interior of the "face" making this gadget to be equally classy and "cool", perfect on any vanity desk!

The water tank located at the back and is easy to remove even without reading the instructions.

I actually like how this was designed and how it has a tight lid so water won't leak.

There are 2 steam options to try, Half-filled water for 3 minutes steam while full water for 6 minutes.  I highly recommend to steam for 3 minutes on first few tries to see if facial steaming is something your skin could get adapted to.

It is recommended that you only use water and never add essential oils!  I personally wish they have that option because I kinda dislike the scent that comes out from the steam.  Nothing that bothers me a lot but there is a scent of "new gadget" or just a weird scent I can't put my finger on.

What I do is I burn scented candles or use essential oils next to my facial steaming so I get a relaxing scent, that's killing 2 birds in one!

The product comes with 220v plug so you don't have to worry about using a transformer.
Once plugged with water in the water tank, steam started to ooze out as quickly as 10 seconds.  There is a slight hissing sound but nothing too loud that you can wake a sleeping person.

The booklet comes with a "paper ruler" to guide you on how far your face should be against the steamer.  If you are good with Math, 20cm is the perfect distance.

Now, I personally have combination (normal/dry) skin so I can't seem to vouch on how this product can influence oil production or help in "plugging out" black heads or white heads.  Based from experience, steaming my face actually made me feel more relaxed than usual.  My face actually felt more hydrated and soft when steamed and follow up with my regular skincare regimen.

After almost a month of usage (3x a week), it was recommended though to use daily but I wanted to start things slow!  I can say that my skin didn't have any breakouts, there wasn't any MAJOR changes but definitely NONE of those negative effects.

It has to be noted though that facial steaming has its' CON, be careful not to "over steam" your face or get too close to the hood of the gadget as you may risk burning your skin!

Overall, I like the feel of having a little bit of Spa Time and "Me Time" at home, I actually sleep way much better steaming my face thus it also helps keep my skin looking better if I sleep better!

Panasonic Nanocare Facial Ionic Steamer is priced locally at Php6,499.00 (approx $130.00).  For more information, visit http://www.panasonic.com/ph/consumer/health-beauty/beauty-care/ Like them on Facebook  www.facebook.com/PanasonicPhilippines www.facebook.com/Primer.com.ph

    1. no, when it comes to pricking, please leave it to the professionals! You may overprick or put too much pressure and may scar your face

    1. it is said to be okay for daily, but if you have sensitive skin, start once or twice or 3x a week, increase steaming based on the needs of your skin :D
