Baby Dove is Here!

Baby Dove is here in the Philippines!  I wished they arrived earlier (around 4.5 years earlier), I remembered scouring the whole baby section of a supermarket and even go to Baby Fairs just to check out brands made specifically for babies --- there wasn't a lot of choices back then and I'm sure a lot of you who have bigger kids can relate to that!

I've used a LOT!  A whole lot!  There were a couple of misses where I've seen my then baby broke into rashes!  Baby oils that are said to be meant for sensitive skin actually burned his skin!  

Did I felt bad?  YES!  Super bad!

But thankfully, I have a very supportive husband and understanding family who gave me a pat on the back and consoled me on how motherhood is really all about trial and errors!  There is no perfect handbook that would give all the right answers on how to be a perfect mom! 

Because there's NONE.  And I am perfectly fine to do all the testing myself because I enjoyed the process (not all!)  but there are a couple of instances were I felt super proud of myself!

So seeing the arrival of Baby Dove actually brought me back to so much first-time motherhood memories!  With a lot of newbie moms messaging me after seeing my IG post on these products, I am so happy to be able to share a bit of my experience and knowledge as REAL as it gets! #RealMoms

When Kyle was less than a year old, I actually used more bath soaps because I can control the amount of "lather" needed.  For babies, the least amount of product is better as their skin is extremely sensitive.  I like to lather a good amount on my hand and gently massage his body.  

My son currently has extremely dry skin and I use the new bar soaps from Baby Dove to wash his bum every after number 2!

Hair to Toe Baby wash is the perfect product to use when you put your baby in a small bath tub.  With a soft cloth, I apply a small amount of hair to toe baby wash and use it for hair down to the toes.  These are safe not only for skin but doesn't hurt the eyes of our babies.

Sensitive Moisture

And thankfully, there is a different variant for those with even more sensitive skin!  But I highly recommend to still do a patch test just to make sure it won't cause any allergic reactions.

AskMeMom tips: Bath your baby with lukewarm water, and apply just a small amount on the arm area and see if it causes any irritations.  If not, mix the product in a small amount of water and lather before massaging on to the baby's skin.

When your baby have thicker hair, I highly recommend to use a separate Shampoo instead of just Head to Toe Wash.  I love this Rich Moisture variant as I immediately tried it on Kyle and I love the fresh scent and how his hair feels soft like it has conditioner to it!

I veer away from lotion for my son because of his extreme sensitivity to excess products when he was a baby!  BUT, for me, as a mom, I used baby lotions a lot because I try to get products that are safe for babies because I want to make sure whenever they cling to me or hold me, the products I use are safe enough for him!

Even with an almost 5 year old son, I still use baby wipes like crazy!  I use it to wipe his hands whenever we are in public!  I use this to wipe his bum before washing him after number 2!  The quality of the wipes are super important to me, they have to be tear-proof, damp all the way and smells good!  Aside from that, it must not cause skin irritations and so far, this passed all my standards!
