Askmewhats Makeover: "Day Time Blues"

Bea is such a lovely girl and she's so into make-up just like me. I love how she gives me feedbacks on each application and products I've used so that helps me out with the effect of each product on different types of people.

Whatever products I've been using for myself, I also used it to others as it is a rule of a thumb for me to make sure to test the products on myself first before I use it for others.

Anyways, it's just intriguing to see how the exact same product would react different to me and to others. So I make it a point to rely on feedbacks for reference and test the product on ourselves before we purchase anything.

Hahaha, I've been blabbing too much, I know.... Here's another look I've done... I call this the "daytime blues"...

Sorry, the picture came out to be just bluish thingy, but in personal, it is more vibrant and there's a hint of yellow on the crease as well.

Love it? Hate it? Tell me what you think! (but please do it gently and don't break my heart!)

Your askmewhats,
Nikki

Another Makeover Day! :)

Bea, will be one of my model for my upcoming portfolio shoot this coming April 26th :) So given the chance to practice, I always will. The challenge I encounter with Bea is that she's got combination skin, really oily t-zone and I meant oily that even putting on a primer doesn't help much! hahaha Anyways, she's also acidic so I have to be careful with the foundation I'm putting on. I mixed a bit with about 1 tone lighter than her skin and in her t-zone, I've used a foundation shade 2 shades lighter as it all toned down to a really glowy yet dewy look. Here's a hot on her before an after.

What I've used (for eyes):
1. UDPP
2. VOV beige as base
3. L'oreal moss green
4. Kate shimmery off white color as highlight
5. Stila Smudge Pots Gel Liner in Black

I will try on more looks on her soon! :)

Meeting Ms. Cherry Pacheco Uy

As I gave you guys an update on how happy I was with the upcoming one-on-one meeting with Ms. Cherry Pacheco Uy of Paul & Joe. Time indeed flies so fast and I did met her last April 6th at her studio. It was super hot day (you can see in my pix below on my before shot).

Anyways, I don't know what to expect, but I expected to enjoy the learning experience and what can I lose right?

What I love about the meeting with Ms. Cherry is how hospitable she is, how friendly and down-to earth she is. In my dictionary, and to others, she is already successful make-up artist and stylist and she contributed quite a lot in the industry, but never did it get into her head.

So anyways, I learned a whole lot of tips and I like how she did half of my face and let me finish the other half to "check" if I really understood everything. Here's a before and after shot I want to share to you guys. (sorry, the before shot looked like a mug shot hehehe (it is SUPER HOT you know! excuses excuses..hehehe) And oh, before I forgot, I love the make-over so much that I used the pix as my profile pix! :D

Me and Ms. Cherry...

Me and my "sweetie" ...he was super kind and waited for me to finish the whole session! :) I bet he learned a couple of make-up tips as well eh?

I will incorporate some of those tips that Ms. Cherry taught me and you'll see it as we go on. I love the make-over (though the closer look in the pix would see that my left and right eye doesn't match, we used dark green and dark blue shadows heheheh)

Anyways, to Ms. Cherry, thanks so much for your time!!! I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart :)

Askmewhats Version: "Formal Affairs" Eyes

I've always wanted a look that I can do when I'll be attending a formal function, but I don't want to look too made up! I've practiced a lot and from all the tips I got from reading, from watching and from asking, I've finally put up one eye look that I really like (sorry it was really bad lighting, I always take shots nighttime and lighting is not too good and sufficient).

Here's how it looks like close up, one eye...

Products I've used:
  1. UDPP (Urban Decay Potion Primer)
  2. Cream white eyeshadow (as base)
  3. In2It E/S (I had a review on this one in my previous post)
  4. MAC e/s in Coquette
  5. Black eyeliner

Eyes Closed (no Flash)

I finished up with a nice "formal" drop earrings and hair pulled low with a bit of curls. (and I'm only wearing a tee...tsk tsk tsk)

I know I know...I should have put an "open eyed" photo! Stupid of me I forgot about it and removed all my make up before I remembered! Anyways, I'll get better next time! Promise!

Nikki
