Tip for the Day: Bench Pure Mist Face Water

**available at Bench Stores for Php 153.00

I promised you guys that I'll be posting tips on whatever I learned on my make-up "quickie" lesson with Ms. Cherry Pacheco Uy....and I will live up to my promises..just give me some time as I want to make sure I buy whatever product it is, use it for a couple of weeks before I say something about it :)

A lot of fellow bloggers I know, like sis Jheng of My Addictions would use Evian mist for her face. I would love to use them for "future" clients but for a start up make-up person like me, it would rob my wallet and bank! :) hehehe So..I'm looking for a good alternative and that would be the Bench Pure Mist Facial Water.

I don't need to break down this review for pros and cons as I can't seem to find any CON. It's really nice to spray this on the face of the person you're putting make-up on before you do a prep on her face. She will feel refreshed and of course, would feel good :) Which is really nice.

This is super difficult to purchase as it's always out of stock. It's actually located in a fridge area of Bench (which is cool). I had a hard time locating it as I always look for this in the perfume area. hehehe

Anyways, I love this, do you? This is definitely not a requirement for make-up artists...
it's just my preference...
and so far, people I put make-up on isn't complaining at all :)

The Effects of Falsies

I never thought putting falsies to other people would be part of "my" make-up routine. But after several practice to other people and I've got a lot of "Chinese" friends, a lot of them are monolids so I am always challenged to do make-up on them that would show like they have lids :)

It takes a whole lot of practice and one sample would be Grace (yup the same Grace whom I did a major makeover to).

After her lids "kinda" showed up through make-up, I tested a falsies on her (excuse me for not curling her lashes, as this is just a trial, she's always freaked out with falsies or anything that has to do with eyes). I was amazed..like super A-Amazed with the result and the difference that I took a pix of it! :)

I know a lot of people don't use falsies..so do I!
But for special occasions, it really helps and can brighten up the whole look.
I love it on Grace! She loved it as well!
too bad she's on her pajamas and ready to go to bed...
She should have partied with her lovely falsies :)

Reader's Corner: Paul & Joe Eyebrow Pencil Swatches

As requested by Liz of This & That...here's a swatch from my previous post....

For those who haven't read it...smile..and click here!

The eyebrow pencil color is always in pair. The pencils are defined as soft and hard. (soft would be the lighter color and hard would be the darker color)

I hope this helps :)

P.S. I have to swatch them like 4 times coz the color just won't show up on my skin (but I promise you it does on your brows). So it gets more natural in real life :)

More queries?
tell me!

Askmewhats Reviews: Maybelline Make Up Remover Eye & Lip

** available in all beauty stores for Php329.00 (approx. USD8.00)

One of the most important make-up tool for me, is the eye make-up remover. Aside from my HG Shu Uemura Deep Cleansing Oil, I make it a point to really clean up my eyes with a good eye-make up remover. As I would say, I cannot really clean my eyes with just the cleansing oil as it does hurt my eyes.

Your askmewhats was in search for a very good yet affordable eye make-up remover and when I was in China, with all those Chinese products, I chose to go for the Maybelline brand. And it was my HG eye make-up remover for more than 5years now :)

Maybelline says ---

This 100% oil-free formula gently and effectively removes washable mascara and eye makeup without oily residue.
  • Fragrance-free
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Dermatologist tested

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • it doesn't sting the eyes
  • used also as lipstick remover, I find this great for those glittery lipglosses that's too stubborn to remove
  • it can last for months
  • affordable (especially on sale)
Cons
  • there are some really good waterproof mascara that can't be removed with just one swipe, have to do it again and again
  • the oil and the liquid part really doesn't mix well no matter how many times you shake it....the old formula blended way much better but to be honest...I don't care as it works quite the same
Askmewhats' tip
  • Use the cotton pad instead of a cotton ball, the cotton bad has a flat surface and I find it easier to remove mascara.
  • Don't just rub your eyes with this make-up remover, gently press and hold for several seconds against your closed eyelid. Gently wipe off.
  • And don't forget to always rinse the eye area with water (some people tends to forget this)
  • MONEY SAVING TIP --- wait for sales! Maybelline will always have their 10%, 15% upto 20% sale!!! (I bought my make-up remover for Php263.20 instead of it's original price, good deal!)
  • You can stock up on it especially during sale but don't buy too many, I stock up on twos per sale day. And keep it in cool dry place (sounds like a food packaging tip hehehe)
Will I repurchase?
Yes, I've been repurchasing 2x a year!

I know you guys have your own HG make-up remover...do tell us!

Nikki
